How is it that a year old iPhone with 2GM of RAM performs better than a brand new Galaxy Note with 4GB of RAM?

>How is it that a year old iPhone with 2GM of RAM performs better than a brand new Galaxy Note with 4GB of RAM?

It's almost like Apple uses their RAM to work well with their phones instead of throwing in pointless GB of RAM to just attract the techporn.

Fucking brutal. Android, not even once.

It's almost as if they used completely different software which makes spec comparison totally useless.

Sigh, user more ram is better not less. Would you like 100 or 50? Its the same question. Anyway apple can cut on the production cost because IOS is effecient with memory. Just imagine IOS running on a fully specced android phone with 6GB. Apple only gets their processor, internal flash memory right, camera and IOS right.

And then they completely fuck up everything with OS limitations that make the phone unusable to most powerusers
>OS limitation of 100MB file size max even if you're on motherfucking unlimited 5G. Need that 2Mbps Cafe free Wifi though.

Enjoy browsing facebook faggot

>The iOS in that image in at least 4 years old.

Try it with a new iPhone and you won't see that problem.

Yeah, you will see this one instead.

Lo and behold. Got that message today, since a new version of iMovie was some 640 Mb but it downloaded the update anyway, despite bitching for wifi.

lol this fucking pic is gold, gotta be ios5 or some shit and this idiot thinks he's made a valid point

Android totally makes up for being slow by allowing you to burn through your data cap.

>Galaxy
IPhone is not alone here, TouchWiz automatically degrades performance to 2-3 years old level.
xda-developers.com/with-the-note-7-samsung-still-delivers-embarrassing-real-world-performance/

>data cap
How fucking poor are you?

>he doesn't know you can limit and set warnings for your data cap
>not just paying for unlimited or more than 12 gb

>Make super nice phones
>Put the most horrid skin on Android known to man on them
Fucking hell. I've got a Z5 and I appreciate that their UI changes are incredibly minor on modern phones and actually improve it, rather than clutter it up.
Not all people in all places have the option.

>Touchjizz
Found the problem

>he believes in meme resolutions
You literally can't see better than that.

I've never seen this.

Hard to see it when you never leave your mom's basement where you have a constant WiFi connection

Nice meme, but I don't even connect to Wi-Fi in my house.

I recently returned my iPad Pro because it refused to download files for my work that were over 100 MB. Got a galaxy tab instead and behold I can actually work on this thing.

The most recent iOS has a 100MB limitation instead.

On Android I get a warning that I can ignore. Also, I have no data cap. I have a 200Mbps unlimited 4G and 5G(about 15€/mo) since I am lucky enough to enjoy superior European mobile connections. I have no need for a WiFi like most here and iOS makes everything unusable with this 100MB cap.

Recently tried to update my parents iPhone SEs since they were having problems with that. It was this same issue. They have no WiFi but unlimited 4G and iOS refused to update. Had to make my Note a hotspot for them to DL updates.

iDrones will defend this.

Dirty Europeans taking to lying again.

I see you're livin' on the Edge

Personally, not poor. I also don't have a data cap with my service. I don't get why you would say that? It is obvious that Apple are targeting the vast majority of consumers with their devices, who likely do have download caps.

>work
>on a tablet

Should have gotten a Surface

Nope, I get full LTE in every part of this place.

>snapoven variant
>comparing a QHD res phone with low res HD one (not even full HD

>I recently returned my iPad Pro because it refused to download files for my work that were over 100 MB
This limit is only on the App Store and iTunes (apps and media), help me out here what work files refused to download?

>Surface

I heard there is a limitation on Microsoft devices too so I didn't even consider one. Is this true?

>excuses
Maybe the phone would be faster if you didn't try to drive ridiculous displays.

Or maybe it's the eMMC storage.

"Muh 4K" on a 5 inch screen

Anything higher than 1080p is overkill, anything lower than 720p is shit.

>its a ridiculous feature
>until my Gaypple™ Device™ get that feature.

5 years in the future:
>Gaypple™ releases new device with that feature.
>Gaypple™ did it first and its better.

>nuh uh you can't compare this smartphone to that smartphone!
t. (You)

With 4GB RAM I could have loaded in RAM EVERY app in my app drawer. I already can load and keep running all but two apps(browser and Titan Quest) with just 2GB. Not Android's fault Samsung botches fucking everything.

Y u mad?
Everyone knows most features suck until Apple uses them because they actually use them wisely and not as a gimmick.

fingerprint sensors were on phones before but the Touch ID on the iPhone is the top-rated one.

Payment services were nothing new but Apple Pay is the top-rated payment service on a phone.

Nice strawman.

No. The surface is literally no different than any other windows machine in terms of bloat or being locked down. I've been using a Windows tablet for almost a year now, got the nextbook flexx 10.1 and planning to buy a surface next summer or so when I have more money.

FP sensor on iPhones sucks ass even when compared to chink phones. It's so fucking slow, Jesus.

> Anything not Stock Android or Nexus

found your problem.

...

You can bypass this by rebooting your ios device after you pressed OK. ios will automatically start downloading the app, regardless on which network type you are on. Not the most elegant solution, but it works.

I know, it's so slow that when my friend uses his Touch ID, the phone is already unlocked by the time he rests his entire thumb on the reader.

Nah m8, it takes a good fucking second to unlock. On chink phones you can register up to 10 fingers and each will be recognized instantly.

No, it's just a ridiculous feature.

>up to 10 fingers
Racist.
#LMAOLivesMatter

>Nah m8, it takes a good fucking second to unlock.
Nope. How much sludge is on your sensor?

>Maybe the phone would be faster if you didn't try to drive ridiculous displays.
The problem is they're really not. You can easily tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p especially on a 5.7" screen.

>Or maybe it's the eMMC storage.
Nah, both have pretty dam fast internal storage and load up 20-40MB chunks of data in less than a second.

Resolution only hurts 3d apps and storage speed is enough(reads are 80MB/s even on 2014 phones), the problem is Samsung.

>Resolution only hurts 3d apps
It also hurts 2D apps. There's always a penalty for displaying something 2X the resolution. A lot of apps have vectorised UIs which need to be rendered.

this is just an ssd speed test.

You can easily tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p especially on a 5.7" screen. Maybe YOU can, but most people can't. The 'Retina Display' formula is based on the visual acuity of someone with 20/20 vision.
>Nah, both have pretty dam fast internal storage and load up 20-40MB chunks of data in less than a second.
iPhone's NVMe storage is miles ahead.
>(reads are 80MB/s even on 2014 phones
That's pathetic. Worse than hard disk drives 10 years ago.

Thank god I have a nexus

It does, but not in an obvious way - Android loads different resolution UI assets depending on the dpi(if the app supports that. Android UI does), so higher res screen phones will use heavier assets. On the same assets there won't be any noticeable difference.

>hard disk drives
You will wait for reading heads to move longer than you'll actually read the data. 80 is more than enough.

>You will wait for reading heads to move longer than you'll actually read the data.
What is your point?
>80 is more than enough.
Clearly it is not.

How and why?
Ask the developers of Android who thought that it was a good idea to make an operating system in Java.

isn't only UI made in Java while OS is made in C/C++ ?

It was one of the reasons for Nexus 9's RAM problems - changing the dpi solved them.
My point is even if the HDD would be 10 times higher speeds it would be slower than emmc.

The OS and any apps worth shit are written in C or C++.

>This many excuses from fandroids
Just admit it people, samshit is cancer

>people always refer Android as Samsung
>literally forgot this was caused by shit optimization on samsung software

>admit
Way too late, m8

I though iPhone was supposed to be "it just werks"?

youtu.be/TDBTiwjTT0k

>Samsung

Why do people treat this company as the main provider of android? Considering how bloated and full of crap touchwizz is to the point they may as well name themselves Acer its obvious a dated IOS phone would keep up.

Samsung are probably the second biggest joke of a company to enter the mobile market with microsoft taking the lead.

It seriously doesn't. You're being delusional.

The Note 7 with stock android would be god tier.

but what makes it different with other stock android?

Java is alright for number crunching actually, but it keeps all objects in heap and doesn't even have real arrays - the CPU can't effectively cache that. On object manipulation tests it can be ten times as slow as even C#. And gc introduces unpredictable delays. On top of all that many retarded devs make heavy computations in the UI thread. It's all very nasty.

Especially when using caf sources. Especially if there would be a dev crazy enough to backport optimizations from the latest Linux kernel versions. All this can easily triple the lifetime of the device.

What other phones apart from Nexus use stock android?

This, the exynos version is vastly superior to the snapdragon one

There's official AOSP for Sony Z series and unofficial for pretty much everything.

>having a cap so small 100mb makes a huge impact
Americans everyone

Samsung use UFS 2.0 for internal storage, definitely faster than eMMC but still not match with Apple's NVMe storage though.

Note 7 has amazing hardware held back by shit, bloatware by samsung. Unless they build an android from the ground up instead of updating Touchwizz, their phones will continue to be slow

youtube.com/watch?v=P3kTDeHUk4Q

what makes OP3's performance so fucking good? even the nexus 6P still have that horrible lag

youtube.com/watch?v=qtBHW5Nn2zI

Because if they'd use stock android it would make no sense and ot wouldn't make their phones standout only fags who have never own a decent samsung phone will say muhh touchwizz lagggg xDd

Well I live in the UK, but yeah this is 100% the fault of US telcos.

A phone with the best hardware combined with the best software makes plenty of sense. Only customise it to accommodate the s-pen and it's closest phone we've ever had to perfection.

How often will you repost this shitty thread?

You're a blind idiot then.

Ios is fucking optimised to hell, this disables you to be able to do what you want with your phone however enables you to open apps faster although if that ifag was smart he would disable the "pretty" animation that opens apps and it would be 10x faster

You're an idiot, the app launch process and animation don't conflict with one another they compliment one another.

iPhone 6s is such a beast. It destroyed all of those.

RAM has very little I'd anything to do with launching an app. The biggest difference is that the iPhone I'd still the only phone I am aware of that uses a PCIe interface and NVME for its flash storage instead of eMMC like most phones.

Now I don't know if things have changed with the new flagship android phones, but I do believe that continues to be the state of things. They may use the newest and fastest eMMC standard, but it's still not as fast as an NVME SSD in a phone.

Don't fucking lie. It's a well known ios restriction. Stop pretending like your preferred platform has no faults you faggot.

This. RAM only increases the maximum number of apps running/cached. Why don't they make Android phones with SSD storage though? It seems like a much better investment than just pumping up their screen size, 1080p was enough everything more is a battery waste.

>But it doesn't have faults.

Apple or Bust!

>It's almost like
we'are not on facebook

>Expecting anything good out of Samshit.

$400 chinkphone beats the S7 edge.

I'm not lying. I know it exists I just haven't ever seen it. I'm more curious why I haven't.

HAHAHAHHAH/// HOLY FUCKING SHIT MANG.... HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA

OCTO-CORE + 4GB of RAM is totally OBLITERATED by a fucking 2 CORE 2GB RAM device.

TOTALLY OBLITERATED!!!

What the fuck does Apple have in that A9??? Blood of virgins or sometrhing?

That's fucking witchcraft.

DELET THIS YOU MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SAMSUNG RULES DUMB APPLE DRONES BACK TO R*DDIT

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

In nz we have 4g maximum and they charge us $59 for 3.5 gb a month.
Having said that our country has impossible infrastructure

When has samsung ever been the performance benchmark?

Does Sup Forums even like samsung phones at all? My only experiences with samsung phones is people 'tolerating' the shitty UI and then flashing cyanogenmod or whatever 'well regarded' third party ROM only to lose battery life / stability / performance / camera / whatever else. You can never get them "right" like other phones and just leave it.

I can't

How is it that iShit needs to run at an embarrassing 320x240 to beat out a 8K phone by only 1 second?

>not comparing it to the 6S Plus
>SD version of the Note
>Touchjizz
>he thinks 4GB RAM is bad
>1136x640
>iCuck still missing features other phones had years ago
Pajeets can go back to poo now.

A10 hitting 3000 in single core?
