So what should I do lads?

So what should I do lads?

Is SteamOS good?
Is botnet 10 worth for the DX12?

Wake me up inside

>Is SteamOS good?
it´s meh at best
>Is botnet 10 worth for the DX12?
no
>So what should I do lads?
use linux distro of your liking while dualbooting to win 7 for games that don´t work on linux
or plain gpu passthrough
or just win 7

Install both cuck

Wait for vulkan to mature

Steam OS is a joke, in general all Linux gaming it's a big fucking joke.

Want to play games? Use Windows.

SteamOS is Debian with Valves vendor lock in faggotry in black of Debian.

BotNet 10 Is largely shit, be prepared to have zero control over your system as Microshaft decides what's best for you after every update until you get so pissed off at it that you contemplate never updating, ever.

Choose more gooder. At this point I'm ready to go all in on Oracle and just install Redhat as a daily driver.

t autism

nigger

Well i hope since im getting a rx480

Probably try to keep the Win7 but ill try to see this linux stuff if possible just to see how it is

So, you guys just pirate Win7 and its all good right? No real drawbacks? Win10 is shit even pirated? Cant you surpress some of the official spywares that way?

Windows 10. SteamOS is a huge flop.
>b-but the botnet
If you're on the internet it's too late already, no point in worrying about that shit when you're already in it.
Or just use 8.1 with metroshit disabled if you have no need for DX12.

it is impossible to remove the spyware because the os is build with it in mind and it´s likely to be just reactivated after an update

and no there are literally no drawbacks for a pirated win7 as long as you are not retarded enough to download a sovietBotnet iso but that´s generally the case for piracy

Keeping the Win7 for now, but will probably end up upgrading when my need for DX12 consumes me.

Dropped the SteamOS for now at least

>So what should I do lads?
Install Linux or Windows 7.

>Is SteamOS good?
Not really.

>Is botnet 10 worth for the DX12?
Absolutely not.

why do you not just dual boot win10 for the handful of dx12 exclusive games that are worth playing

Valve want to reduce dependency on Windows so I wouldn't be surprised if they started paying gamedevs to port their games to Linux.

REEEEEEEEEE

Not really. There are a handful of games that have issues. One example being Rocket League which runs at low framerates in wine. Ultimately it's the developer being niggerish and not releasing a linux version even though it wouldn't be hard.

Protip: most newer game engines support Windows, Mac, and Linux.

>If you're on the internet it's too late already

>Being this retarded
Yea, because all operating systems perform keylogging, right?
The difference between W10 and everything else is that there is no way around data siphoning once you've installed it. The developers at Microsoft are actively looking for ways to subvert any security measure you put in place.

I see

Yeah that will work
Since im mostly from Sup Forums im kinda retarded on this stuff

>dx12 exclusive games that are worth playing
>dx12 exclusive games
>worth playing
None of them are worth switching to DX12.

>plain gpu passthrough
>plain

It works for google. Why not them?

Are you using ChromeOS?

This.

by god that wasn´t my proposal you illiterate

>why do you not just dual boot win10 for the handful of dx12 exclusive games that are worth playing
That was your statement. You suggested installing Windows 10 for dual boot for the sake of DX12 games.

Im looking at some benchmarks (from 2015, i dont know if much changed), and SteamOS loses like 15%-40% of the fps a game would have on windows. Damn

Android.

DOOM on Vulkan on Win7 64bit.

If you want to try SteamOS why bother with it at all. Install Desktop Linux that includes up-to-date GPU drivers on a secondary Partion/Drive/UsbDevice and see if it works for you.

DX12 is a meme.

Are you making online purchases with your phone?
Do you store your most sensitive data on your phone?
Do you watch porn on your phone?

If you answered yes to any of these, you're a fucking retard.

I just go straight to the Ultimate Win7 64bit, right? Or anything more I should know?

>Is SteamOS good?
really awesome better than winBLOW$

>this thread again

>dual booting in 2016
>dual booting with malwareOS in the first place

installing for dualboot != switching to it
switching implies replacement

You didn't understand the point I made. Good job.

SteamOS is shit
It's loonix distibution for Sup Forumstards

Aside from the spywares, what are the other real drawbacks of Win10 compared to Win7? Worse performance?

freetards never changes

Forces shit on you, worse interface, wastes too much resources on spying making the system barely usable, comes with tons of bloat while 7 comes empty, basically a cloud OS which gives you no control over your system, "something happened :("

well shit
i hope dx12 is just a meme then

>Lunix
enjoy nogaems

>wincucks
Enjoy games

all the games that require windows are shit so i switched to linux

Linux is getting better, slowly, but theres a heck of a lot of back catalog that won't work.

yea im tired of windows update giving me bsod switched to linux cause theres no good game right no that requires windows

>Is SteamOS good
If you're going to game on Linux, just download a real Linux distribution. Every game that runs on SteamOS runs on regular Steam in Ubuntu.

Also, DX12 isn't the reason to use Windows. The reason is and always has been application compatibility. Go ahead and stick with Windows 7 if you don't like Windows 10. You don't need DX12, but you will need Windows if you're a serious gamer.

>something went wrong :(
>something went wrong :(
>something went wrong :(
>All the forced updates later
>something went wrong :(
>22 "clean" win10 installs later
>something went wrong :(
>Install on brand new proper desktop
>something went wrong :(
Like fanboying and memes aside, Windows 10 actually is fucking horrible. I won't be surprised if it gets to a point where Linux (which I haven't used since I struggled to install Ubuntu on a PS3) becomes a normie OS
I loved Windows, but this... This is no longer Windows.

>SteamOS
Go for it if you want, but it's honestly just GNU/Linux, and I haven't really found a reason to believe it's worth using over a normal distro like Arch.

Definitely depends on the game. Not everyone ports their games properly. Metro Last Light and Left 4 Dead 2 are examples of great ports. They run even better on GNU.

this

Your point was that people are already using an operating system that logs their activities. My point is that it doesn't catch all of your activities. You're willfully spreading your personal information further by installing and using Windows 10. Since it's a desktop/laptop operating system this includes all of your habits and credit card information. Microsoft doesn't have a very good track record when it comes to security, do you really think it's a good idea to be sending them everything?

It's literally Microsoft pushing out their untested updates. I don't know how many here are old enough to remember this but XP SP2 fucked up ~30,000 government workstations. This sort of thing is pretty par-for-the-course when it comes to Microsoft. The difference now is that there is no control over the updates, you get fucked by beta-stage code.

...

How many times did Microsoft used your credit card, user?
How many times did it leak your data?

I don't use Windows 10.

Do you seriously think they are competent enough to not only suck in everything but to somehow also categorise and process it all?
You're giving Microsoft too much credit :^)

True, they aren't competent enough to use the data for anything useful. They do, however, sell your data to third parties and force ads on W10.

XP...
Is it too late to go back?

Depends on whether you can live without internet access. Since the OS is no longer patched it's open to tons of vulnerabilities.

>steam Os
>just debian with steam installed

Yep, everyone and their autistic mother can google how to crack the XP box.

>The day GPU passthrough becomes easy to use

this is what i do desu

once win7 stops getting updates, hopefully i have a newer cpu for passthrough or, if not, maybe there'll be better ways to use 10 or something.
