So i fell for the meme and recently got my Redmi Note 3 MTK from China.
Where do I start? I want root and MIUI 8. My Mi account got approved for unlocking but in order to unlock i apparently need a developer rom and i cant install a developer room with a locked bootloader

All you need is on xiaomi.eu
There you can find links to new developer roms with google play, and without any bloatware in them..and most of them come pre-rooted
You need to flash a prerooted rom from the stock bootloader, and then use root to install TWRP

Download developer ROM, download miflash and drivers. Install miflash and drivers in windows, flash the fucking ROM with fucking miflash.
Now you can unlock the BL with their utility. Now you can use every os you want to fastboot into twrp, wipe everything and flash xiaomi.EU zip + twrp.
