Newfags report

It's been a short summer and the posters seem to be out of place here.

C++ for oop, c for everything else, bash or python for quick and dirty stuff, Assembly for embedded, looking to expand to web programing with html/css.

Depends on the phone.

by posting on Sup Forums $(companies) datamine your posts because they know your writing style

Do you fiddle with your phone much anyway?

>not sure what are they gonna do with that much useless info
And this
Just genreral curiousity

Isn't oscilloscope used usually in the "old timer" tv's?
The techies who use them in company i work at have a specific use for them (listed above)
Or do you have some current use for them?

Oscilloscopes are still one of the most important tools in the Electrical Engineer's toolbox user.

How else would you debug high speed data lines like USB3.1?

yes

yes

i3-6300 + 750ti with 1tb and 8gb ram, dual booting win10 and Debian (experimenting with distros via virtualbox on win10)

on a friendly level, ive used a decent amount of the babby/mid level distros but i havent jumped ship bc familiarity with windows

C(++), Python, and Javascript

probably not. ive flashed roms but never recovered a hard brick before.

Have no idea about that stuff

Could you open up something about that matter?

>Can you assemble your own pc
Yes.

>Do you know the difference between amd, intel and nvidia?
Yes.

>Your current setup?
i5 2500 + GTX 970 + 12GB RAM + 240GB SSD/2TB HDD running Windows 10 Enterprise on a 27-inch, 1080p monitor

>Can you repair your own electronics? (soldering Apple's motherboards for upgrades fex.)
Some. I've repaired some screens and components on iOS devices, and I've repaired several 3DS's.

>Any knowledge about various linux distributions?
Yes. I've been an on-and-off Linux user since 2007.

>Coding knowledge?
Only basic HTML and CSS.

>Programming languages?
No.

>Phone's bricked, can you fix it?
Yes.

Missed the soldering question

I've fiddled around with the occasional dumb issue (i.e. DNS not resolving or bootloop) and fixed them but no soldering. never even tried.

>Can you assemble your own pc
Yes, the instructions are very clear on how to take my Alienware laptop out of the box
>Do you know difference between amd, intel and nvidia?

Duplicate question
Trick question. No one bricks phones anymore. But hypothetically I flash with Odin.

I'd say I pass.

Bonus points: It's GNU -PLUS- Linux

>Can you assemble your own pc
I've built several PCs over the last eight years.
>Do you know difference between amd, intel and nvidia?
AMD makes decent GPUs and shit CPUs.
Intel makes top-tier CPUs.
nVidia makes overpriced but usually good GPUs.
>Your current setup?
Home server running 2008R2. 64GB RAM, 12TB RAID, 2x Xeon E5.
>Can you repair your own electronics? (soldering Apple's motherboards for upgrades fex.)
I've repaired shattered phones, replaced caps on PCBs, all that fun stuff.
>Any knowledge about various linux distributions?
I used Ubuntu for a while a home, the university engineering lab runs Red Hat Enterprise on most of their computers.
>Coding knowledge?
Intermediate-tier.
>Programming languages?
Java, C, Python, x86 asm.
>Phone's bricked, can you fix it?
Softbrick: flash stock ROM
Hardbrick: if I fucked up hard enough and I really care about the phone I'd restore the ROM via JTAG.
In all cases, restore shared storage partition from weekly backup.
Completely destroyed: stop drinking and re-evaluate my life.

>Can you assemble your own pc
Been doing so since I was a kid. Used to fix old ones with my dad.
>Do you know difference between amd, intel and nvidia?
Obviously.
>Your current setup?
i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz OC / 560Ti
(It's old - making a water cooled build for shits once the new chipsets are out)
>Can you repair your own electronics? (soldering Apple's motherboards for upgrades fex.)
Negative. We have a soldering iron, but I've never had any reason to fix my own electronics.
>Any knowledge about various linux distributions?
Barely. I like Android on my phone, and won't run anything but custom ROMS. I know there is a couple different variations of the same worthless shit for PCs.
>Coding knowledge?
Caveman tier, in a number of languages.
>Programming languages?
N/A
>Phone's bricked, can you fix it?
Bricked my S6 when trying to install XtreStoLite, and my old S3 when trying to put it back to stock for sale. Fixed both after some trial and error.

sort of
not really
nope
depends on how bricked it is

>Can you assemble your own pc
Yes, I build computers for friends who want to get into PC gaming
>Do you know difference between amd, intel and nvidia?
Amd and Intel both make x86/x64 processors. Amd aquired Ati almost a decade ago and thereby also make GPU's, while intel doesn't. Nvidia exclusively produces GPU's.
>Your current setup?
i7 6700k, 16GB DDR4, R9 Fury, 250GB SSD, 1TB HDD
>Can you repair your own electronics? (soldering Apple's motherboards for upgrades fex.)
I can solder some simple circuits, but motherboards are way out of my league...
>Any knowledge about various linux distributions?
I use Mint as my secondary OS and have experimented with Arch, Tiny Core and some other Debian based distros.
>Coding knowledge?
Programming games and some simple tools, had an internship last year and wrote a piece of code that takes the info from a QR-Code and makes it available to other scripts
>Programming languages?
C# (for Unity), Object Pascal (with Delphi / Lazarus), Java (sort of..)
>Phone's bricked, can you fix it?
Try Odin and flash it back to original firmware or maybe Cianagon Mod.

- The Basics
>>Can you assemble your own pc.
Yes, and both my roommates, I taught, and they did the same.

>>Do you know difference between amd, intel and nvidia?
Amd is Intels CPU competitor, and
nVidia is god teir.

>>Your current setup?
Which one?
Desktops? i5, 3750K, G3258, four Q6600s OC to shit, at least 12G in HDs, 2GB in SSs.
Laptops? Toshiba i5 3337, PowerBook Duo, 4 Dell I8200s.
Mabye a few G5s, G4s, etc...
Now working on two Dell XPS 720s to get them into the modern age...
Two Tablets...

>>Can you repair your own electronics? (soldering Apple's motherboards for upgrades fex.)
used to desolder crystals with a Mercal for clock chipping.
I can just about repair almost any SMT devices, except for the newest solder pads.

>>Any knowledge about various linux distributions?
Extensive Gentoo.

>>Coding knowledge?
Tons... almost CS degree

>>Programming languages?
C, C++, Ruby, JS, Java, C#, .Net >Phone's bricked, can you fix it?
both iPhones, and Andriod, and iPods...
Some serious bricks cannot be unbricked,
I can jTag a XBox, and Thinkpad Lock...

>Phone's bricked, can you fix it?
if it happened i'm sure i could figure it out

>>Can you assemble your own pc
yes, just like everybody who tried. it's simple as a puzzle of 4 pieces
>>Do you know difference between amd, intel and nvidia?
mainly relevant for kids. i don't do games. If you want to be pro, look at the tech that fits your needs and don't give a fuck on the company.
>>Your current setup?
pic
>>Can you repair your own electronics? (soldering Apple's motherboards for upgrades fex.)
yes. but for most Sup Forums relevant use cases it doesn't matter.
>>Any knowledge about various linux distributions?
yes. relevant for me but pointless for many fields of Sup Forums
>>Coding knowledge?
enough
>>Programming languages?
various
>>Phone's bricked, can you fix it?
yes. doesn't matter for Sup Forums, it's just personal interest.

Stop trying to be elitist. There is nothing special in "building muh own PC", soldering some connectors, coding a "scpecial version" of tic tac toe or unbricking a phone. All of it can be done without previous knowledge, if you are not a complete idiot and know how to google.

It's more likely someone could measure your typing style. If watson is any indicator we are quite a long way away from anything remotely resembling artificial intelligence. But measure key stroke timing on certain words, sure.
