are the "CCxx" qualifications worth it?

I clean my desk with wet wipes, cloth and window cleaner, I bathe every day etc.
Yet despite all of this my forearms stick to the desk when they get sweaty (it's still summer here)
Am I the only one? Picture unrelated.

loose some weight

But I'm not obese

Why does nyaa.se have an internal server error?

Did 'resume', especially for uploads, recently get implemented in the 'sftp' command?

I seem to recall not too long ago that I was unable to resume uploading shit with 'sftp' alone.

I'm currently using this tv as a monitor:
>lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-37LH3000-lcd-tv

It works well, 5ms response time I believe. I'm looking for a new relatively budget priced tv between 40-50" with similar response time, would something like this be a worthwhile upgrade?

>tesco.com/direct/blaupunkt-49-1480-full-hd-49-inch-led-tv-with-freeview-hd/139-1092.prd?skuId=139-1092

Frustratingly it doesn't detail the response time under the specs so I have no idea if that tv is better or worse. Any help would be really appreciated.

Also, thank you op for making a proper thread.

I need to run a script one time when I log in. I'm using GDM and Gnome 3 if that matters.

How do I write a systemd oneshot service to only run when my user logs in?

Would creating a .desktop file and adding it to gnome's autostarts be better?

Why does the other /sqt/ not show up in the catalog?

It's probably a combination of the humidity and the surface material of the desk

Probably because the retard who made it wrote in /sqt/ as user name instead of /sqt/ as a subject in the options field.

In the subject field, sorry.

good cheap laptop that runs not that big games like csgo\bf4? budget is 500$ but dont want to blow all of it

Programming related retarded questions.

One, how do I go on about repeating adding an item into a sharepoint list through C# WFA?

Second, how do I make a datagridview display another SHarepoint view? I.E rather than show the default one (All items), I want the list to switch to another, filtered view.

I cannot find much info online and I'm too stupid to use the little I can to implement it properly despite trying for ages.

Guys what do you think of this laptop?

notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-IdeaPad-700-15ISK-80RU0009GE.167197.0.html

Two 250GB SSDs in RAID 0 or 1 500GB SSD? This is just going to be an OS driver and shit so I don't care about one failing and fucking all the data. Will RAID 0 harm the life of the drives or will the 250GB SSDs be slower than the 500GB one.
I know these questions sounds stupid but SSDs are still new to me.

getting friendo to buy it from australia

I'd stick with the single SSD, RAID 0 just adds unnecessary complication for little to no noticeable performance increase for an average workload with a decent SSD.

What the fuck am I doing wrong?
Can anyone help?

Is the $500 in AUD?

usd

If you want to get into networking and dont have any experience, yes.

You're not the only one. Get some cloth under your arms.

>TV as monitor
Get a PC monitor.

>BF4
>on a $500 laptop
pick one

expensive. you can get one with latest nvidia graphics for almost the same price.

SSD != HDD. SSD actually get a big boost from RAID0.

i don't mind getting 30-40~ fps in bf4 on low settings and i used to get like 50 on my old laptop so i guess it should run it

bitcoin/vouchers/tf2 hats?

How do I reinstall Windows 7 without having to sit through updates again

Definitely hats

pastebin.com/quC0gz4j

what's a good lightweight performance monitor for windows? temps/speeds/ram usage/etc for both cpu and gpu

Get an ISO with updates included.

>performance monitor
you mean system/hardware monitor. you cant tell performance from that info, you need to run benchmarks.

Open Hardware Monitor, MSI afterburner, CPU-Z

Is galaxy tab a 9.7" good purchase for 199€? Without the sim card place, its unneeded.

That sounds shady AF. Where the hell would you find a checsum to validate an image that came with all those updates? If you mean you could slipstream your own, sure. But since you have to download them manually either way, the benefits of actually slipstreaming the disk for a single install are minimal.

Which motherboard brands (or even specific models) are the most reliable? I'm building a new pc for the office and I want something that could last 10 years, ideally.

>That sounds shady AF
It is.
>Where the hell would you find a checsum to validate an image that came with all those updates?
You can't, doesn't exist (at least for the latest updates).

You can look around on MS website, IIRC they made an update pack over a year ago, but I dont think it's included in any ISO (you should double check).

Never use a modified ISO that does not match the checksum of MS official ISOs.

Have a look here:
>windowsiso.net/
>mirror.corenoc.de/digitalrivercontent.net/

There is no single brand, it all depends on the models.

Check the popular choices on your shopping site, compare those boards and pick a selection with good user reviews, then check hardare review sites for the details to see if it uses high quality parts.

For any part to live that long is just hit or miss. Get something with good warranty (should be able to find boards with 5 year warranty).

What the fuck? So i was just minding my business ingame inna mmo when all of a sudden my PC turned itself off and i was stuck at the mainboard logo screen afterwards. No BSOD or anything, just a plain HDD shutoff and then the mainboard logo appeared almost immediately afterwards

Tried rebooting a couple times but only after i went into the setup/checkup screen via f8 did it actually manage to get past the mainboard logo screen again and show the truecrypt password prompt

The thing is this never happened before (it's a very stable build which has proven itself over the years with no BSOD issues whatsoever), i guess somehow my CPU or some other component overheated so the safety shutdown kicked in this time?

Also, on the boot checkup screen it said "CMOS checksum bad", could the battery perhaps be empty/faulty or something

Tor is slow af when i use it on windows, while it's pretty fast when i use it on tails. Why?

Why can't I connect my phone to the PC with a shitty USB cable?
It charges well but when it comes to MTP connection to transfer files only the OEM (samshit, moto) white short cables seem to work.
What's the difference? Does length of the cable play into this?

you pedantic pleb you... yes that's what i mean

Open Hardware Monitor is pretty fucking sweet. thanks

Also i was (at least in the beginning for a while) downloading the BF1 open beta via origin at the same time could it perhaps have something to do with that

>try to work on some github repositories to help get some experience
>no comments in any of the files
how the hell am i supposed to read this shit without comments?

Cheapo cables can't transfer data, only power.

but what is the difference?

What's the difference between RAID and AHCI if I have a single SSD?
Apparently it's a prerequisite to switch between the two in order to dual boot Linux on the XPS 15

AHCI is like standard mode. RAID is if you want to do weird things with multiple disks. For only one disk there's no reason to be in raid.

on linux, how do I fix not having any sound after resuming from suspend?

Too poor to afford a spare computer to turn into a server so I'm trying to get the hang of AD/Windows Server through a VM but I'm wondering if its possible to have one virtual computer be a server while others would be regular end users that would be joined over and I could fuck with permission levels/other shit.

Is this possible?

How can I daisychain my VPN, Tor, Squid, and DNSCrypt? I use Fedora.

Thanks bruh

>friend has a socket 1155lga

how the fuck do we find out which ram to buy? i only know how2buy ram for new pc's

>inb4 download more ram here

thanks

Does yaourt really source the PKGBUILD before I can edit it, allowing the execution of malicious code?

Looking at the comparison table[1] in the wiki, it says yaourt isn't secure, but I can't seem to find the problem in the referenced source file.

[1] wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_helpers#Comparison_table

Can any users of the kobo aura line (Aura/h2o) tell me if would it be possible to insert a micro sd card with higher capability than the maximum supported by the device (32gb) by formatting to fat32? I've read in forums that it works with certain types/models of sd cards, but up to 128gb, never heard of 256gb. I would like this to put several documents and be able to transport them with complete independence from a computer, in case you tell me to just upload 4000 books at a time.Thank you in advance

In a search engine(like a Sup Forums archive more specifically) how would I wanted to search for two separate words like: "dragonball" and "dragon ball"

Shouldn't be a problem. You can run multiple VMs simultaneously and have them be on the same virtual network. Hell whonix works off of some of those same network sharing features. No reason you couldn't set up a domain in there.

You're probably biting off more than you can chew. And those things aren't necessarily meant to be combined. Do you even know whether you want tor over vpn or visa versa?

Is it true that Blu Ray players/writers are region free as hardware and the regions are only bound by your OS and media player's settings?

Alrighty, I was just wondering if there'd be any problems linking computers. You just create a domain in Windows Server 2012 and then on your devices join that domain, right?

>expensive. you can get one with latest nvidia graphics for almost the same price.

only in americuh though ;_;

Basically. You're probably going to want to spend a little while looking up guides on using your VMM's networking options, so you can configure your VMs to simulate the kind of network you want them in.

What hyper-link management module do you suggest for Emacs (v24).

I am building a mess of notes similar to a wiki and hard links don't work if the folder gets moved. And the current "Org Mode" tree is getting too big for basic use.

I am interested in the options. I read about "id" on the GNU site but don't see it listed. I see "Hyperbole" is listed and the description sound like what I want.

Any advice, or knowledge? (Kind of new to this)

I'd prefer it to be a long term thing, been burned by cool developers making something and then it glitch out with newer hardware and software.

spilled water on my desktop 6 days ago and attempted booting up a day later. It shut down after 5 seconds so I assumed it was the power supply. I swapped it with one of my friends and it still didn't boot.

What do I do?

I can't find my 16GB flash drive. Hope no one found it.. nothing bad on it, but like tranny porn and shit I don't want anyone finding.

But, anyways:

I want to install Windows 7 and downgrade from Windows 10. I made a bootable USB drive once with that 16GB flash drive I had, and I installed Windows 7 from it. I actually copied the exact files from that drive as a backup, and I still have it.

Could I just cram everything on that drive into a folder, then put the contents of that backup into the drive, and it boots fine? Or is there another and less messy way?

Since I don't want to get rid of the files on it. I have no other place for it.

I figured this site had suitable instructions:

bootableusb.net/make-bootable-external-hdd-install-windows-78/

So the files that you have, are they the contents of the windows 7 installer, or everything that used to be on your C:\ drive?

The Windows 7 installer. I went to explorer, clicked on my flash drive, copied it, and pasted it. If I dragged the contents of that folder into a flash drive I'm sure it could boot the Windows 7 installer. I figured the same principle works with a portable HD

it also seems like a messy way to do it though

Why do you want to downgrade?

It's Windows 10.

And? What aren't you liking about it? Is it impeding in anything you're doing? What issues are you having with it?

But surely you knew that going in, in which case, why did you update in the first place?

bump

So I'm on Windows 10 and about to do a "Fully Clean the Drive" to just have a fresh PC.

Last thing I want to do though is to create a recovery disc, but for some reason, I can't find it.

>techrepublic.com/article/be-prepared-create-a-windows-10-recovery-drive/

When I go to Control Panel or even search for "create recovery" I don't see it.
Under Systems I have the options of:
>view amount of RAM
>allow remote acc
>launch remote acc
>see the name of this pc

That's it.
What do I do?

It came with my laptop. It's a Lenovo 710.

Although I see that there are only Windows 10 drivers on the site, but I'm sure the hardware would still be supported if I used Windows 7, right?

I don't have any real issues with it but I am not comfortable with Windows 10 based off of what I heard

how come my gtx 1080 starts to drop the core clock once the card reaches around 60c?

What's that recovery disk supposed to do? Why don't you just backup your data and do a clean install?

>A Recovery Drive lets you boot your system and easily access a number of recovery and troubleshooting tools to revive a failing Windows 10 system. If you haven't done so yet, you need to create a Windows 10 Recovery Drive. That way, you'll be prepared should you encounter a problem with your Windows 10 installation.

Yeah you really don't need that.

My backlight strips kept falling off my monitor and ended up collecting dust on the adhesive. I removed the adhesive, and I'm wondering if there's anything specific I should buy to replace the adhesive, or just see if there's heavy duty double-sided tape and use that?

oxhow.com/install-windows-7-directly-from-hard-drive/

groovypost.com/howto/downgrade-windows-10-to-windows-7-windows-81/2/

PCs designed for windows 10 won't necessarily have the essential drivers for windows 7.

Ok, fuck it. I'll just go ahead and clean install.

How much does freelance wordpress stuff typically pay?

Bitcoin leaves a trail. Coins like Dash and Monero use mixing to hide everyfuckingthing. Have your character buy Chinese wow gold/tf2 hats/steam keys with the PayPal account, sell them for Bitcoin, trade the Bitcoin for dash, hit the mix button, trade back for Bitcoin, then hit up a local Bitcoin ATM for cash.

Mum's looking to buy a cheap laptop, but still want to plug in an external screen.

CPU is an Intel Celeron N3050, and "GPU" is unsurprisingly Intel's "HD Graphics".

Would that be enough to run a 720p monitor smoothly ?

Get a T420

Yes, with ease. Their IGPU's offload most common codecs

Something overheated, or a voltage dip/spike did it(120vAC my ass), or an EMI burst knocked it out. I'm not kidding about that EMI, I can hook my taser to an antenna and any computer within 15ft will hang/lockup.

Get some more fans, a good UPS, and tempest(look it up) shield all your shit. Go all tin foil with mesh cages and shielded cat7a, all connected by thick ass braided ground strap to 8 foot copper rods driven into the ground around your house.

So my Dad is working on his living room floor. He has a hammer out and he's beating some pieces of wood into place. His satellite receiver is about one foot away from where he's beating.

I told him he should probably not do that because the satellite receiver has a DVR in it with a hard drive and it could damage it. It's still plugged in and running right now. I was going to remove the receiver and put it in another room but he said it would be "fine"

What do you think is the chance the drive is damaged?

Ok so, what I need to do
>move pictures from my mother's Android 2.6.x smartphone to a PC

The problems I have
>it doesnt connect through micro USB, usb debugging wont work
>cant download any apps from the Play store

Why I cant download any apps from the store
>made a google account for my mother, now I dont remember the password
>tried the "forgot my password" bs, entered the code sent to the email, still not able to replace the password for some fucking reason
>tried making a new account, when trying to install an app a notification comes up saying there was a problem connecting TO THE OLD FUCKING ACCOUNT EVEN THOUGH I AM LOGGED IN ON THE NEW ONE
>tried removing the old account, CANT, some apps use it or some bullshit like that.
What the fuck...help?

50.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%

Just get RAM with the same frequency and timings.

EVGA Superclocked cards are just regular ones but with a preset overclock right? I can save $10 and just overclock it myself?

Is there an SD card on the phone ?
Otherwise try uploading picture from browser.

pretty good chance of complete loss of data

Thermal throttling so it doesn't literally melt. Add more fans.

would your typical off the shelf external hard drive be more reliable than a 2.5 internal hdd that you put into an enclosure yourself?

i ask because I recently bought a seagate external HDD and its so fucking thin that it is actually inconvenient to use, it doesn't even have rubber legs on the bottom so the smooth plastic just slides around any surface I put it on

yes
and what do you mean exactly?

But the card can go to 83 celsius without being damaged. You'd think it'd be my choice to throttle the core or not.

Then copy the pictures to the SD card and put it in a SD card reader.

how do i do that, there is no option for it in the gallery

Is it worth it to upgrade from a GTX960 2GB to a GTX1060 6GB if I only play Battlefield 4 at 1080p?
