Hey I have been using Linux Mint "Sarah" for a time now. Being a newbie I didn't bother looking into the system files.

It would be most kind of you and highly appreciated if you would explain to me

WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE A FUCKING "ms-dos-executable" AS A LINUX KERNEL ?

Is that normal? I have the 64 bits version. It is just a theme ? Is ms dos a part of this OS? What is this heresy

I never installed wine just for the record

Linux copies Windows so some bits trip up file type detection making it think the code is actually a Windows binary.

So it isn't Windows binary code?

Will it make my pc vulnerable to windows designed viruses ?

Possible.
You can scan your machine for virus and use rootkit checkers if you're worried.

What graphic card u use? No tearing when using nvidia driver?

Jesus Christ, there's actually people that use mint as a desktop OS...

>being this dumb
>using mint
Move away from that piece of shit and install something else, e.g. non-Unity Ubuntu, Debian

Ahahahahahaahaha

The gentleman above you is trolling my friend.

It'll be either one of two things. 1, since its a link to the file, it might just be the fact that its a link.
Or, more likely, 2, its a .bin file and it mistakes it for windows.

Change that two to three, three, I've noticed mint gas done that to me even for non windows things, like a .sh if I remember correctly.

tl;dr you're fine, don't worry about it. Delete that though, and its bad news.

your mime type detection is somehow bugged
the linux kernel binary is actually ELF, while x-msdos-executable should be PE

> ?
> ?
Stop with your crimes against typography.

You can remove it, it doesn't do anything

nvidia but it never acted up

yahh I will remove the kernel thanks for the advice. Once I was told to remove system 32 for better fps rates. It didn't work so I've installed linux instead.

Fuck you and your malicious suggestions dude

It's the most popular distro right now

Its so WINDOZE doesnt freak out too much and can identify the media when you are using the live stick. Other than that WINDOZE cant into ext4 so dont worry.

>he actually deleted system32
jesus kid.

I am not the only one who is endowed with this feature

sarcasm
That is the aim of the mint team to create a user friendly distro, shit is cash

>Jokes on him i was only pretending!!

>install Mint
>inconsistent and ugly interface
>screen-tearing. Oh god the screen-tearing!

Never again.

install gentoo retard

A word-to-error ratio of 1.0 is quite impressive.

Commas are placed before, after, or around a noun or pronoun used independently in speaking to some person, place or thing.

The live stick ? What is that ?

So all linux mint 18 users have this "problem"
