Is this device still relevant?

It has become a status symbol so it's still relevant like the iPhone. However unlike the iPhone it does not carry the stigma of homosexuality.

it could have been relevant if it was a landscape slider instead

DO YOU EVEN PHONE

"hi, i want a phone that's weaker than phones normally are even though they are already weak as shit"

Man do you really type THAT much on your phone that you really care about physical keys?

...he typed, on his phone

>all i do is play candy crush on my phone
>and jack off to tranny porn
>who would ever actually need to do work related things on a communication device

I just don't type enough that I think the weakness resulting from the slider and physical buttons is outweighed by the benefits.

I doubt you type essays on your phone or constantly text or write emails on it to the point where physical keys would really make your life 1000000x better

Regardless this is why they make these phones so people with autism who feel they need physical keys so they can text their mom once a week in *style* can have that

Not many people use remote desktop or SSH on their phones. For those that do, having a real keyboard to type on and not cover up half the screen is essential.

>lets make a phone for power users that cant be rooted

>weakness
Are we talking specs or what here? It has an 808 I think.

Snapdragon 808 is actually slower than 805 and on par with 801.
It's honestly a terrible chipset.

>for power users
it's for businessman, not autistic idiots.

>I dont have a real job
>So you must not either

I'd prefer something with the form factor of the Passport but running a normal version of Android.

I was thinking of getting one later this year now that my N900 is dying, yes or no?

you could have wished for something better mate.

No I mean the durability of the phone. The slider makes it much weaker and adds more things that can break. So does the keyboard.

Phones are easily the most physically abused pieces of tech so adding things like this to an expensive device that gets carried around in a pocket - sometimes thrown around isn't the best idea.

If you're careful with your phone and don't carry it around while being active too much it's not that big of an issue but when I buy a phone something I always look at is how much abuse the phone is probably going to be able to withstand.

Here's a durability test btw youtube.com/watch?v=YdtBnjX_PXM

>plastic lens on the camera that scratches when you breathe on it on a phone this expensive

Jeez

>tfw it still probably snaps less easy than a nexus 6p though

I'm using one now
It's nice
I got the slider creak to stop
And now scratches on the lense

I shitpost quite well with clover

Using one right now. It's okay.

I just really wish that they went with a landscape orientation for the keyboard.

what if I smash 13 of them with a hammer?

will that destroy any data onthem?

I really wish something would come out like this with the nice keyboard except with nice specs alongside it. I absolutely hate on screen keyboards and have never been able to get the hang of accurately typing on these things.

I post on Sup Forums and frequently text my close friends and yes I occasionally draft short stories on my phone and a physical keyboard would make my life a lot easier.
