Can anybody confirm?
No I don't buy TN displays, only poorfags need to apply. Enjoy non existent viewing angles.
...
An 8-bit TN will make better colors compared to the typical 6-bit IPS. Can't stand gamma shifting. Looks bad all the time compared to IPS glow which looks bad only in dark images.
>this will improve your viewing angles
>this will actually improve your colors and not just make it looks a different form of shit
enjoy your backlight bleed and piss-poor response times / refresh rates
I'll be here with my superior panel with free software-based colour profiles.
It's referring to how even when looking at a TN screen dead center the edges have considerable color shifting because it's defective by design.
>ips shitters actually think this
lagom.nl
TN is dead in the water.
>implying he's wrong
pic related, test image is a repeating/uniform pattern
hue
"Digital vibrance" just increases saturation of mid-toned parts without blowing out already saturated ones. It can increase perceptual quality, but cannot prevent banding and colors going to shit at an angle.
>i-ips is only more vibrance guys, for real
From someone who frequently has both side by side and tried to make the tn match, neck yourself.
I have one IPS monitor, one old 1280x1024 PVA monitor (Eizo) and one TN monitor.
The TN monitor is almost always off because it's so terrible even compared to the ancient Eizo PVA. I really should sell it, or better yet destroy it so no other human has to suffer from its bad viewing angles and contrast.
Looks absolutely fine here. Maybe if you're using some TN from 2008 you'd see that. No point in lying to yourself. IPS is slower and suffers massive backlight bleed. Fact.
make sure you view it unscaled
i'm using a TN from 2012 and it's no different to that example photo which was taken in 2005
The test only works at exactly 100% scaling.
>TN
╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮
How do I do this with amd card?
I'll enjoy my silky smooth 144hz with 80% vibrance.
You can keep your slightly better colors and "muh viewing angles"
i use a 144hz ips type display faggot
digital vibrance is a meme and looks like shit
It's indistinguishable from IPS. But sure, you continue to pretend to be able to justify slower response times and backlight bleed that you paid $200 premium for.
>paying for worse
top meme
>piss-poor response times / refresh rates
What if he's not a retarded gaymer?
>backlight bleed
Stop buying from shitty gaymer brands. It's that simple.
>Itt gaymer children who cant afford a proper monitor.
How can anyone outside gaming ever claim that tn are better?
I do not want to fix my head in a position that the monitor needs me to to be able to observe colors correctly.
Tn is shit and it should die soon.
4ms response is definitely noticeable, right?
i play competitive shooters on my monitor.
viewing angles and colors alone justify buying ips. when you also get 144hz+ with it there's no reason to try justifying being a TN poorfag
IPS isn't even bad for gaymen anymore. can't say the AUO panel on my asus is as good as my dell monitors though
Looks fine on my gaymen Asus TN
Maybe you shouldn't buy cheap shit.
Why do you care about angles? Are you looking at your monitor at 45 angle usually?
To me shitty IPS contrast and horrible backlight bleed are much more important issues. Not even mentioning delay and ghosting.
>Make a TN display look like an IPS display
Are you literally retarded? Like, you have an actual mental handicap?
20 degree angle in the corners when looking straight into a 27" screen. Enough for shitty TN to become unacceptable for graphics work.
Fuck off back to linus forums faggot, TN with DV is indistinguishable.
How does it feel to be a retarded poorfag OP?
Color vibrance has nothing to do with the difference between TN and IPS. That's a matter of calibration.
Color richness/depth, viewing angles, and contrast are though.
You are mentally handicapped, as that user outlined.
The new TN panels asus released cost 500$
How is that cheap for a TN?
Looking straight on my screen I can see the top edges are darker and the bottom edges are brighter. When playing MGSV it always felt like the sky was way too dark. This happens with any TN panel, some better or worse than others
> ips
> contrast
I'll be using my superior VA technology
No thanks. I don't want headaches from color shifting.
Shame, I actually like my blacks, blacks like your dad
>4ms response is definitely noticeable, right?
I'm running an 8ms ips one (announced as average, ranges between 5-12ms) and on duplicate screens with a tn panel side by side I couldn't notice a single difference in ghosting between the 2
>IPSfags and TNfags can't just agree that CRT is master race.
Enjoy your garbage geometry
> he doesn't know about flat CRTs
> CRTs at 144hz exist
and terrible eyestrain too
Uh yeah?
> not using glasses to protect your eyesight
>crt
you must be underage since if you would seriously use crts all your life up untill now youd be long dead from eye cancer
His picture is clearly of some ancient 4:3. New Asus TN panels look fine
Said no one
Give me a 144Hz 1440p CRT and we'll talk
Also, CRTs cannot into black unless you turn off all lights in your room
>Also, CRTs cannot into black unless you turn off all lights in your room
funny that
you know not every IPS panel has light bleed right? only some panels suffer from it.
both my true ips and ahve panels have 0, yes objectively 0, lightbleed. i also have seen lightbleed IRL so i know how to look for it.
light bleed != ips glow
i prefer my objectively better colors with slightly bright black screens, thanks. you can go roll around in your dogshit colors all you want, turning up your digital vibrance wont change a thing.
Where the fuck even are these options
>turning up your digital vibrance wont change a thing.
You know that's objectively wrong
...
bleeding colors != IPS panel like quality
you're literally delusional if you think this.
I never said any of that
>who needs a subwoofer
>just crank up the bass on my laptop speakers
>indistinguishable
>get trolled into buying a IPS monitor
>white light bleed in every corner
i deserve it tho, because i didnt do my research before buying
>inb4 i bought a cheap IPS
it was a 350€ EIZO
>6mm bezel
>seamless
what model?
EIZO EV2436WFS3-BK
Not 1080p
you can only get 144hz if you run it at like 800x600
Just us a parametric equalizer and increase the sub bass region by 8db
>muh dell infinity edge
>virtually dry on the bottom
Vibrance just increases color saturation, it actually completely disfigures them after a few point % at least as I recall. It can be pleasant but it's definitely no magical switch to make your TN panel look like an IPS.
Looks terrible
Who /AMVA panel/ here?
>good color reproduction
>great viewing angles
>excellent contrast
>better response time than IPS
>no bleed or glow
It's literally perfect
>inb4 "color shifting"
Yeah, you'll only fucking notice that if you're looking at a single color gradient.
IPS and TN fags get BTFO.
EWWWWWWWWWW IT'S JUST LIKE A PISS FILTER
> tfw Eizo FG2421 is out of stock in the entire world
Nevermind I can't fucking read
You should stop looking at your screen tilted.
If I have someone here with me at least one of us has to
>tfw bought a TN panel by mistake not even a week ago
>why the fuck is everything so washed out and so weird
>why are icons so blurry
>why are gradients to plain
honestly never cheapping out on a monitor again
1080p CRT monitor master race here
LCDfags go die
I bet you use glasses faggot
Ya but no lenses
tfw 144hz TN panel, 60hz IPS panel, 60hz Plasma screen TV, and 13" CRT, and all of which suck major dick for one reason or another
I just can't win
Modern ips panels have very, very little lag, are 144hz, have gsync of freesync, are relatively big (27'), are 1440p
What's not to like?
What if I want one that's 144hz, Gsync ready, 1080p, and 24'?
>2011+5
>not having an visual cortex implant
>not streaming optical data directly into your brain
As far as I know, doesn't exist. Only 24' 1080p modern monitors I know are TN (like the acer predator 24). Eveyr 144hz ips panel seems to be 1440p
well if you're playing a game that's only yellow-brown everything is going to look like piss
well it's not like 1080p 144hz ips exists, so the only option is to buy tn
about to buy a viewsonic xg2401, is this a mistake?
>is this a mistake?
yes, get ips 1440
I think his point is that high color vibrance on a TN panel doesn't have the same effect as viewing truer colors on an IPS panel
my best screen is on my phone (1080p AMOLED+)
dat fucking contrast man, destroys even my CRT
there's a bit of persistence with dark colors, but beyond that it's fucking perfect
AMOLED+ desktop monitors when?
when AMOLED burn-in gets solved
>AMOLED+ desktop monitors when?
By 2030 we'll have 1080p amoled at 1000€
1440 is best at 27" and I don't have room for it
VA has fucking amazing contrast. Even my $200 piece of shit TV has 3000:1 static ratio.
>I don't have room for it
Come on, user. Make some room I promise you won't regret the massive jump in quality. IPS > TN for literally everything except the placebo fags playing CSGO competitively
>not buying a 144mhz ips monitor in 2016
