Why is the internet still like this?

Because normal people use their PCs in well lit rooms.

It's still more fatiguing than white on black.

"Normal People"

Please do not marginalize me

No.

There has to be some addon to force all the colors on any given page into your own scheme.

Most of the websites that have less text then pictures are shit anyways.

What's the problem OP?

>open page
>white text on pitch black background

probably /thread

add this userstyle

* {
background: black !important;
color: white !important;
}

>black
>white
that's even worse

>Every website is bright as fuck
>Better make my themes and everything else dark
>GUISE DARK THEMES R BETTER 4 UR EYES

Fucking retard.

>read site
>White text on black background
>Text is burned into your eyes for the next few minutes

that's why you should use something like pic related

What is supposed to be hard to believe or far fetched about dark sites being easier on the eyes?

ITT: Retards think dark theme = pitch black background on white text

>>GUISE DARK THEMES R BETTER 4 UR EYES
That's not even true.
1) You shouldn't use your screen in the dark anyway (turn on the lights)
2) Black text on white BG is much easier on the eyes than white text on black bg

>stopped browsing sites I don't have skinned to fix that shit
>forget after a few months and click a link without squinting first
>tfw blinded again

yeah, shades of grey on black/darker grey is the best.

ayy lmao

Easily avoided by just lowering your monitor brightness, (maybe color temperature, too), turning on the light, and using a bright theme :)

Then let me call them bright and dark if that helps you understand it better:
Darker Text on Brighter Background >>> Brighter Text on Darker Background

There's a shitload of add-ons for Firefox (and probably Chrome as well) that can change any CSS color to whatever you want.
Pic related is Blank Your Monitor, works pretty well.

I shouldn't have to adjust my settings because people fell in love with hideous burning white webpages

What is supposed to be hard to believe or far fetched that using your computer with adequate brightness/lighting is easier on the eyes?

Oh by the way, do you have any proof white on black is better?

Pink on Black = god-tier

flux

Dark does not mean white on black you idiot. All of Sup Forums's themes are "dark" which within this context just means not being a pure white piece of shit. I do not want to and will not change my settings or aesthetic preferences because of an obnoxious fad in web design.

white on black is worst than black on white.
What you want is light on dark, but no white and no black.

Try opening your curtains once in awhile, weeb.

Dark themes are horrible, can't understand how they use this shit. Just set brightness properly, use an alright monitor and open your window

FTFY

It's easier on your eyes. I used to always set my CAD system to yellow-on-grey, when our company updated the software to CREO with blue-on-white it become hard to focus on after a few hours. The white dazzles you. This was in a well-lit office with a good monitor, too. Had to move back to grey backgrounds
Mind you, I used systems before that were red/blue on black, and theyvweren't great either.

Changing the user style in your browser to white text on black background looks like dogshit on most sites because of all the other elements that go into making the page. Blame the people that make the sites.

I guess it's a problem if you browse a very wide variety of sites. I spend most of my time on maybe a dozen or two domains, and I have userstyles for all of them. vOv

>hate black
>want black background
umm gtards?

>not having invert page color app
