>there are still people who resist wireless headphones
I thought Sup Forums was full of audiophiles? Why are you retards so obsessed with older, obsolete technologies? Vinyl was killed by the CD for a reason, just like wireless audio is the future. Apple seems to be the only technology company still on their game.
tl;dr: why is Sup Forums so retarded?
Juan Garcia
Because change is hard and Sup Forums has an undying hateboner for Apple.
Charles Clark
>Why do audiophiles not like wireless audio
Lucas Green
Yeah, these would be a great way to zone out in class, since I'm immature and only care about instant gratification. One Airpod™ in one ear while streaming Apple Music™ tunes. Thanks, Apple!
Jack Rodriguez
I could easily buy some $15 bluetooth headphones, but why should I? My wired headphones work fine, and there's no hassle with pairing, another pair of batteries that I have to charge, loss of signal, etc.
Nathan James
>not carrying around a dedicated DAC >not using Windows phone for its superior audio decoding algorithm >not using FLAC natively on your mobile OS >having to use iTunes to manage my library.
ohhhh boy
William Allen
it's another bullshit device to charge that's easier to damage and lose for fuck all gain
removing functionality and gimping devices for the reckless pursuit of some shallow and quite frankly ugly sense of aesthetics is the opposite of progress
John King
>Vinyl was killed by the CD for a reason Yeah and now it's making a comeback cause people are realizing it's god tier for some genres, just like shitty wireless headphones aren't going to beat out a setup with a multibit DAC and tube amp.
Henry Morgan
>Yeah and now it's making a comeback cause people are realizing it's god tier for some genres
No, it's making a comeback because a generation of millennials raised on KaZaA and iTunes is nostalgic for an experience with physical media that they never had.
Vinyl always loses to CD in fidelity.
Noah Williams
You sound like my grandfather. Jesus Christ this board is full of grumpy old fucks
Dominic Nelson
>there are still people who believe wireless doesn't sound worse than similarly priced wired headphones
Camden Martin
Sheeple Playing chess with a pigeon Etc.
Sebastian Ross
Only luddites would not want this.
These things are amazing
Matthew Rodriguez
>Vinyl always loses to CD in fidelity. Yup, it's in the mastering and everyone fucks it up favor of volume.
Aiden Ward
Most audiophile companiesjust haven't gotten on board yet. Good ~$75-100 pairs of wireless ear buds sound just as good as wired $50 pairs
Grayson Carter
>I thought Sup Forums was full of audiophiles? Um... bluetooth uses lossy compression. Not very good lossy compression either.
Sebastian Allen
Vinyl as a medium cannot reproduce as wide of a frequency range as CD.
Also the analog playback process with a stylus moving over grooves and tonearm vibrating inevitably leads to further distortion of sound.
It's just not very good compared to digital.
Adam White
They are heavier and easier to lose. AND with worse audio quality to boot. It will only be the future when it will be able to play lossless audio and when it will get its power from your phone, inductively or whatever.
Jackson Young
>Most audiophile companiesjust haven't gotten on board yet. I wonder if it is because they actually try to make good performing products?
Andrew Cook
100 is already double of 50 user.
Jordan Richardson
>when it will be able to play lossless audio Expect to see a proprietary cd-quality lossless codec similar to Sony's in the next year or so.
Elijah Smith
>easier to lose how many times do I have to read this on this board? Are any of you over 15? I get that people lose things, but if you're going to drop top dollar on some wireless earbuds how about taking care of them and not losing them? Sorry but it's such a dumb complaint that I'd expect to hear from my mom, not every poster on Sup Forums
Joseph Morgan
>Good ~$75-100 pairs of wireless ear buds sound just as good as wired $50 pairs Such as? I've yet to find a pair of wireless buds, headphones, etc. that sound as good as the Piston 3 which you can get for less than $20 let alone the MA750.
Dominic Rogers
yeah, cause that ishit will have the same sound fidelity as a pair of good sennheisers.
you dumb shit.
Christopher Rivera
>I get that people lose things, but if you're going to drop top dollar on some wireless earbuds how about taking care of them and not losing them? Are you a paid apple shill trying to obfuscate a poor product by blaming the user? "You're holding it wrong" ring any bells?
Liam Nguyen
The same reason people in the business of running data centers and servers run Ethernet and Fiber Optic. Cables are faster and more stable.
>Apple seems to be the only technology company still on their game.
Apple chose bluetooth for their wireless earbuds. Welcome to the 90's, so innovative.
Angel Barnes
Apple has had a lossless format for several years. It's even open source and likely supported by AirPods, since it's listed in the iPhone 7 tech specs for audio playback.
Eli Cooper
It could be done even today using an adapter similar to those in wireless mice. Why nobody did this yet completely baffles me. >jog in a park >it falls off >spend an hour searching grass for it I had this happen even to my IEM tips, wireless headphones are way easier to lose.
Jace Reyes
There is no such thing as a good pair of wireless ear buds. They are all shitty quality.
Austin Wright
The op pic aren't even made by apple and the topic is wireless headphones, not apple. You can't fall back on that lame defense for everything dum-dum
Dominic Powell
>drop top dollar on some wireless earbuds If you're over 15 with a working brain you wouldn't do this.
Noah Wilson
Not only that, it's not even Bluetooth 5.0! LOL
Tyler Jones
Enjoy living in the past grandpa, we'll see you later
Blake Butler
You really believe that audio transmitted wirelessly would sound better than ones through wire?
Anthony Lopez
>Apple has had a lossless format for several years. When did ALAC become a wireless audio codec?
Jaxson Cooper
Because signals pass better through solids than through gass. Fuck of with your gimmick shit
Cameron Butler
>The op pic aren't even made by apple and the topic is wireless headphones, not apple. Why does the OP's pic have to be made by Apple for you to be a paid Apple shill trying to refute an issue with tired, old Apple tactics?
Nathan Rogers
>moving from analog to digital for headphones
haha. Enjoy your DRM.
>This Apple Music/iTunes Media can only be played with APPROVED BEATS BY DR DRE STEVE JOBS EDITION WHITE ROSE GOLD AIRPODS
DCHP ALL OVER AGAIN
WHEN WILL YOU FAGS LEARN
Mason Peterson
Yeah I mean look at all that audio bluetooth equipment that bands setup when they do concerts right?
LOL!
Hudson Edwards
Since AirPods use a custom form of Bluetooth, it's not a stretch to assume they've included ALAC support.
Hunter Cruz
It COULD sound better theoretically, but it doesn't because of Bluetooth. It's a hell of a stretch unless they significantly bumped the data rate, that would no longer be called Bluetooth.
Brody Sanders
Do you understand how AptX is different from ALAC or FLAC?
Nolan Brown
Apple often pairs Bluetooth with Wi-Fi for features like Continuity, AirPlay, and AirDrop. They could do the same here.
Logan Perez
So what if i want to use some actually decent and higher end headphones while not losing bitrate over wireless? Steve didn't die for this.
Ethan Jones
I am what you could consider an apple fanboy, and I hate the design of the new pods. Get rid of the headphone jack, that's fine. There are plenty of Bluetooth headphones out there and the technology has grown so much. If anything, I'm extremely disappointed that Apple simply took such a bad design and decided it's what people want. They could have found ways to push Bluetooth even further. Develop it so that it's no longer a joke in the audiophile world. But no. We get these little white earrings that many people will lose. It's a bad design, and apple could have done better. I used to think that Tim Cook was just in a bit of a slump and that his direction just needed some time to work. Now I'm more than convinced that unless something really amazing doesn't happen with Apple sometime in the next few years, the company will be in trouble.
Gavin Morris
>Apple has had a lossless format for several years. It's even open source and likely supported by AirPods Nope. Bluetooth mandates one of two, lossy built-in codecs. It doesn't have the bandwidth for ALAC, nor do bluetooth chipsets have the CPU power.
Zachary Powell
I'll just wait till the iPhone 8 when they get rid of that cumbersome screen that's taking up so much space, don't worry, there will be an adapter for you dinosaurs #courage
Ryder Sanchez
lol, so now you have see what types of files your fucking headphones support.
Mason James
Why is Apple making wireless earbuds of all things? Earbuds are a terrible choice. They're only useful for mobile use and in just about every mobile environment you have background noise. Earbuds don't provide any noise isolation. The only environment that earbuds won't be affected by noise is in every situation where fullsized headphones make more sense.
Who is making these idiotic decisions at Apple?
Jonathan Walker
I don't understand the hate against wireless headphones. I have a pair of plantronics backbeat fit and it's fucking revolutionary.
I wear them everywhere because I fucking love audiobooks. These things have been through mud, rain, under hundreds of floors and through hundreds of roof spaces with me and I haven't even come close to losing them because I'm not a mongoloid.
Sure they probably don't sound as good as a proper setup, but hey guess what faggots? You aren't taking your fucking tube and DAC setup around with you.
All you have to do is plug them in at night and any decent pair of headphones will go pretty much the whole day.
Although fuck apples bullshit, at least have them joined together, the battery life on those are going to suck balls.
Gavin Collins
>Although fuck apples bullshit, at least have them joined together, the battery life on those are going to suck balls. Last five hours and charge while in the case which holds 24 hours of charge sorry, that doesn't suck balls in the slightest. It's actually quite good.
Jack Reed
>I fucking love audiobooks. You have very, very low standards.
>Sure they probably don't sound as good as a proper setup Or even a cheap setup like rockboxed Sansa Clip & Piston 3. Hell, you can get just as good a sound and a lot more battery with a $20 bluetooth adapter and a decent IEM than these earbuds.
Nolan Wright
>5 hours >Implying
Top fucking kek, that will be at lowest volume right next to the phone. Also charging cases, wow it's fucking nothing, just a different shaped battery pack.
Dylan Hall
>Also charging cases, wow it's fucking nothing, just a different shaped battery pack. Actually it is something. More proprietary ports if that cannot be replaced with a generic powerbank, it's shit.
Adam James
apple customers are so used to eating shit, they dont know what fresh air smells like.
how do you retards continually pay for this crap?
>$100 stylus
this is the sheep you are.
Levi Torres
Even if it's more like 3 or 4 hours that's plenty before you case them and let them charge in your pocket. And it's an unobtrusive charging case that gives people additional loss prevention, but you're one of those people that will literally bitch about everything a company does aren't you?
Austin Rogers
niggers should i buy the w800bt from onkyo? also
THE GAME
Blake Robinson
3 to 4 hours is a fucking joke faggot. 6 hours is a MINIMUM acceptable level. Also have fun losing your proprietary case and needing to take a second mortgage out to buy a new one rather than a 20 dollar power bank.
Can't believe people defend apples garbage products.
Elijah Barnes
Are there people out there who have a fetish for bluetooth pairing? like instead of fucking the family dog or getting fisted they just really really like error messages and digging through menus every time they want to listen to music? Do they crave lost connections every time they go to a crowded space and constantly tending to a battery?
If everything was bluetooth and you invented a pair of wired headphones that could plug into any device, you'd sell millions overnight.
Brody Allen
Why they don't put a fucking cord between left and right? >Less chances to lost the fucking headphones. >1 fucking battery, 1 fucking receiver, 1 fucking dac. Why apple is so retarded?
Jonathan Murphy
This is worth the price alone
Benjamin Hall
If you listen for five hours and can't take a 15 minute break you have fucking issues and a shit life, kid. Also "have fun losing x" is such a retarded argument. Act like an adult and take care of your shit.
Angel Nelson
So some cutie asks what you're listening to and its the same fag indie shit she loves! "Have you heard the latest fagindie album?" She holds up her phone so you can plug your headphones in.
You explain that you need to pair them with bluetooth
You get maced.
Nathaniel Brooks
$ 1 6 0
James Long
Or you hold up your headphones to plug it in her phone and she has an iphone 7. Then maces you for being autistic
David Diaz
Not the same user but I regularly commute to Washington DC from my northwest state. Including time lost in the terminal five hours (morel likely three) I'll be recharging the earbuds right about the time the colic baby seated behind me starts crying because he needs a change.
Not that it would make much of a difference anyways because the earbuds wouldn't block out the crying in the first place. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make wired earbuds as the launch product?
Dylan Price
Can't wait for the sheeple to bitch that the Bluetooth isn't connecting in a crowded Starbucks
Ryder Powell
or that some 1337 h3x3r connected into their airpods and put on gay porn
Julian Anderson
>You're holding it wrong.
Joseph Stewart
>Less chances to lost the fucking headphones. You assume Apple doesn't want to enable every opportunity for sheeple to pay another $160 for a replacement of one lost earbud.
Levi Allen
then they're clearly not for you so don't buy them. Problem solved, doesn't make them a bad product, most people don't have a five hour commute
Robert Mitchell
>Hipster faglord leaves an earbuds next to his coffee while going to the toilet >Press pair mode on earbuds while you walk past >Pair to your elite hacking phone >Initiate hentaitentaclerapenoises.mp4
Top kek I can't wait to do this.
Connor Evans
How much do you get paid to blame the victim of stupid Apple design decisions?
Jayden Young
Bluetooth has not enough bandwidth for lossles audio unless you use more power for the transmitter, which results in a drastic reduce in usage time.
Adam Flores
the second best thing about owning a samsung is it shows people im not retarded.
Jason Smith
>victim >i have an obscene five hour commute >why doesn't apple cater to my incredibly unique situation!
You guys are bordering on retardation
Nathan Bailey
>i have an obscene five hour commute I doubt I'm alone in commuting in a noisy environment where OPEN earbuds are a retarded design decision.
Zachary Nelson
Samsung is the same retarded tier, except the older models with unlocked bootloader.
Jeremiah Jackson
>5 hours of battery
That's why
Joseph Hughes
then again: they're not for you. this isn't anyone's problem, especially not apple's
John Moore
Seriously, how much are you paid to shill for Apple? You keep blaming the victim of what is clearly a retarded design decision.
Ayden Lee
Not paid, kid, just pointing out Sup Forums's idiotic arguments over anything Apple does. Makes the board look like shit because you all argue like retards.
Brody Evans
They should just put a cord on the wireless headphones so you dont lose them....
Chase Ross
Sup Forums does overall not want a technology change for the worse.
Bluetooth is already supported on all fucking phones, and that part is fine.
But guess what, people didn't want to switch to Bluetooth shit for so many reasons (cost, battery life and battery recharging on both IEM and phones, IEM weight, IEM / headphone choices, ...) and the majority wants to use cables.
Jordan Nguyen
>idiotic arguments over anything Apple does Let's make this plain. You honestly do not think having open earbuds was not a poor design decision? I mean where did they test the product out? In Starbucks? Did they even run the idea or prototypes past any focus groups? You honestly think it is an "idiotic argument" to point out how choosing an open earbud design over closed IEMs is not just wrong but fucking retarded for a mobile audio product?
Blake Anderson
>new wave of exploding airpod batteries strikes New York City >Mrs Anonemaus describes the scene "I was talking with Georges, my husband, when his head exploded! Oh my God! >Black Lives Matter will demonstrate today all over the country to protest against the death of Shayvon, Soapon, Twizzlon, Trayqwon and Siphon, all innocent young black males killed by what is according to them a ploy to kill black people. Shaneequizlon explains : "dey be doin dat because dey now dat niggas listen to music yknowatimean? dats why they did all this to kill us black people because dey rayciss".
Eli Robinson
samsung beat apple to the punch with earbuds like these
but THEY STILL HAVE THE FUCKING JACK ON THE PHONE
Camden Richardson
>I thought Sup Forums was full of audiophiles? Exactly.
And I don't think the audio decoding in those tiny ass headphones is any good. That's why audiophiles use quality DACs and amps that drive their passive headphones.
Next time try to understand the argument you're bringing up.
Camden Ortiz
Damn that's actually an amazing feature. Does Android have anything that can compare?
Jace Reed
>tiny ass earbuds
>good sound quality
pick one and only one
>bluetooth drains your phone faster
>have to charge the headphones
>all instead of using a cable
retarded
Logan Bailey
It is unbelievable that we are currently living in the present time, and yet this is still somehow an issue. How hard is it for these people to get along with modernity, really? Honestly, I feel that this is an absolute outrage! We are not living in the past any more! Some people think that they can still cling on to the primitive ideas and arguments that were popular last century, despite the fact that we are now living in the present, and you cannot deny that! I mean, COME ON! It is the current year right now, for crying out loud! The concepts of today's civilized society, as opposed to the primitive ideas of cave-dwellers, are simply beyond some people! Good grief!
It simply does not matter how much you whine and cry, or how hard you try to deny it: The present is now, and we are living in it. Welcome to reality. The middle ages are over, people! You can believe otherwise if you want to, but the truth is plain for all to see. It is the current year right now, and that is all the proof I will ever need.
Ian Ross
Some phones are always listening so you don't even have to press anything.
Samuel Price
Voice activated features isn't new. Hell, I had voice calling with a Plantronics headset back in 2008.
Mason Miller
Earbuds that you can just double tap to make voice commands is quite innovative I'd say.
Daniel Reed
This whole keynote was literally marketed towards that demographic of groid
Carson Garcia
>Earbuds that you can just double tap to make voice commands is quite innovative I'd say. Double tapping instead of single tapping is innovation!
Benjamin Butler
>wanting shit emitting wireless signals that close to your brain
FUCK Sup Forums
Lincoln Barnes
Yeah it's better than not tapping at all...? Right?
Connor Sanchez
In terms of convenience for somebody who uses voice commands, it certainly is.
Double tapping your earbuds > pulling out your phone, unlocking your phone, doing X manually / hitting a button for your phone to read your voice command.
