Anonymous hacker faces 16 years in prison, while Steubenville rapists walk free

An Anonymous hacker who helped expose the gang rape of a teenage girl in Steubenville, Ohio, is facing up to 16 years in prison, but her attackers are already roaming free.

Deric Lostutter pled not guilty to four felony counts of hacking on Wednesday, with three covered under the Reagan-era Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

It’s the same law used to go after Reddit founder Aaron Swartz for downloading academic papers. Swartz later committed suicide at age 26.

"You get 16 years for forcibly entering your way into a computer, but you get one year for forcibly entering your way into a woman," Lostutter said. "I think that's the precedent the government is setting here."

>forcibly entering a computer vs. woman
For most of Sup Forums I reckon there's no difference.

Pewdiepie's really losing it

>found reddit
>commit suicide
pottery

Oh Anonymous, you pesky hacker group haha XD

white priviledge

Fuck society

>sixteen years for breaking into a computer
>but it's okay when the NSA does it

Thats some bullshit, but
Report and hide Sup Forums threads, guys.

kill you are self

>be racist virgin
>try to send black guys to jail for getting more pussy than you
>end up getting sent to jail yourself
Lol, fucking BTFO

Jaquandemarcelus pls

What a fucking stupid article. Just because the max penalty is 16 years in prison does not mean that is the punishment he will receive. Most likely he will get a few months.

Lol whiteknight fucking snitch

Stupid ass beta pathetic

Source that isn't fucking RT?

Hope he gets raped in prison for being a snitch

Fucking pussy

>You get 16 years for forcibly entering your way into a computer, but you get one year for forcibly entering your way into a woman

So raping a sex robot, is that considered hacking?

>slut begs for cock
>slut gets caught being a slut
>slut thinks of a way to get out of being known as a slut
>"Oh yeah, I didn't give explicit consent!"
>"I WAS RAPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

i'd like to "rape" him desu

Not sure if it would be considered biohacking or technorape.

(You)

Was it actually rape? Rape means a lot of things. Gangrape can be a group of guys looking at a woman from a distance these days.

> hacking niggers
kek, probably just had to send them a .zip file over e-mail saying it contains porn, also the girl is a nigger herself so who cares?

thank

Should have listened to /r9k/. It's a normie's world...

"suicide"

Good, liberal piece of shit deserves to rot in prison.

technorape pls

obviously not anonymous enough ha-ha~

why didn't he plead guilty and get just 1 year like elliott in mr. robot?

>1 yr prison
>no computers for 25 years
>I need computer for job
>no my son, other jobs out there

computers are more important than women hence the difference in the punishment

Computers deserve more respect than women.

Unless it's some macbook.

>fat people working out
literally why? it hurts more than it helps
>feels awful because bones and muscles can't support the weight
>dangerous
>will turn you off working out forever

listen here, fatsos. put down the fork. as a fat guy who lost weight then regained it but still works out, the best way to lose weight is to decrease intake. once you're at a reasonable weight, then start going to the gym

Weight lifting is fine. Fuck cardio, though. Your body isn't ready for that.

But weight lifting helps convince the body to turn food into muscle instead of fat do it really helps trim you.

Trips of truth.

Actually, if I remember correctly, the maximum penalty for the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act was either 5 or 10 years. But this guy is being accused of four counts of violating that particular law. You break the law four times, you get jailed for four times as long.

Also, it's a bit difficult to compare sentences between the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and rape, because the CFAA is federal, and rape is handled at the state level. Different states will treat rape in different ways, and have different punishments depending on just what sort of rape it was (i.e. rape of a minor, rape with threat of violence, etc...). Looking through the Ohio state code on this matter, some rape crimes actually carry life imprisonment as a penalty.

(Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer. I just sometimes like to read laws for fun).

Working out....lmao ya rite

This is what the world is turning into. Chasing down people like these instead of going after terrorists, criminals and rapists and making a gazillion different laws to fuck over citizens. It's pretty sad.

Sad!

For the record, the Steubenville case was not ambiguous like most rape accusations are.

Several boys recorded the whole thing and uploaded the video to multiple websites, laughing the whole time and using the word "rape" themselves. It wasn't an accusation, it was a series of confessions and self-incrimination.

There's no uncertainty as to what happened, the case was deciding whether they deserved to actually be convicted for it. And it seems the answer was no.
