How were I even living without it for the past 15 years?

What are some other must-have firefox addons?

adblock plus
flashgot for youtube

There's this revolutionary add on called ad blocker too. It does exactly what you'd expect.

I've been using one for ages though

umatrix does the same, no? And you can block css and every other thing too.

ayy lmao

Now discover uMatrix and get rid of noscript.

You mean ublock, not "adblock" plus

It's 2016. Just get rid off Flash.

try umatrix, same placebo but easy enable disable feature

How else can I watch my shitty jav online? Torrents are never seeded enough

mpv + youtube-dl then just type mpv in terminal. I guess it's the same way for Windows if you still haven't been enlightened.

Pure cancer but quints say OP has to install all of them.

noscript is a placebo meme.

What's the fucking point if you can't even post on Sup Forums with NoScript and barely have any functional use of the site with this shit?

>implying I started using computer same day I was born

that is the law

>All I use Flash for is streaming videos
>The entirety of Flash's purposes can be replaced by a video streaming software

You are retarded.

what's the joke in that image?

I'm a vegan

1/2

It's implying that you're free to do gay things (like look at internet trap porn) because your illusion of security and privacy (NoScript) disinhibits you.

????

2/2

it's implying people who use noscripts are annoying. you can't link to something anymore without someone complaining that the website doesn't work without javascript. they impose their lifestyle choice on the whole internet

>adding custom addons to tor browser
you dun goofed son

But you can't post if scripts are disabled, it's pointless to use on Sup Forums. The captcha has the fucking Google scripts and it makes you have to do it in order to post so you need the scripts to post.

>i_collect_child_porn1.jpg and i_collect_child_porn2.jpg

bazinga

I'm seriously thinking of going to a command line interface (CLI) for everything, even Internet browsing through text-only. I'll just have to accept that there's no true privacy without limiting my consumption of media like pics, video, etc. Text-only seems to be the only way.

Oh, and don't forget DNSCrypt and Unbound + a VPN if you're very VERY concerned for your privacy

But I'm posting right now without a problem and my captcha doesn't require any scripts.

Terrible

No way that's possible check the IP addresses connected to you, I bet Google is at least one of them. Post results, I dare you, I know Google is connected to you, all of use for doing the captcha, that's how they make their profiles and datamine individuals.

????

I never said I wasn't connected to Google. I just said I use the non-JavaScript captcha. You can see in the image here which domains I'm connected to and what I allowed for each of them.

Put it like this, you know the massive nuclear arsenal that the U.S. has possession of? Well they're controlled by computer systems. Most electronics are hackable, and nukes are indeed hackable because the NSA reports millions of attempts every day by hackers trying to gain access to them.

My point: the computers that control the nukes, yes they are hackable, but you can be sure they're not connected to any scripting like Google captcha, Javascript, etc.
>it makes security worse

My only complaint about NoScript is that I can't (ostensibly) filter third-party scripts on a domain-per-domain basis. For instance, is there a way to allow Google scripts to load ONLY on Sup Forums, and no other site? It seems any script that you whitelist gets whitelisted on a global basis.

As for other FF extensions I'd generally recommend:

Blender - Spoofs info such as your browser version, OS, etc. that's leaked to Web sites. Useful if you don't want sites to create some sort of unique ID based around this info. The spoofed info attempts to make it look like you're using a very common browser and computer setup, which is less likely to set you apart from hundreds of thousands of other individuals.

Cookie Controller - Makes it easier to manage cookie permissions on a site-per-site basis. Adds a toolbar icon that lets you toggle cookie permissions or clear cookies more quickly.

PureURL - Strips garbage from URLs, such as embedded referrers.

BetterPrivacy - Clears persistent Flash cookies on exit. Assuming you're even using Flash.

USA has a lot of outdated technology so it's possible the military system would crash if they attempted to load a modern website utilizing JavaScript.

You're connected to Google and you think all those add-ons are doing anything for your computer's security and for your privacy. Don't you understand how pointless that is? It's Google you need to be able to hide from. You've just proven my point, here:

What's the difference, why should I switch?

There's an add-on called Watch With MPV that does basically that. Right-click on a link and select it, or hit a button for the page you're on, and it streams the video and plays it in MPV. Works for some video players/websites.

It's equivalent to mpv or youtube-dl -o - | mpv -. That's right, you can stream video through a Unix pipe. But all three of these options seem to only work for up to 720p, since the format YouTube uses for 1080p has the video and audio separately which means you have to download them both in full and mux them together before you start watching.

You mean neither. You don't need an extension to block ads. Your OS has a HOSTS file that's capable of doing this at no additional cost of resources.

t. This is how I've been block ads for the past decade.

Too bad it's hip to load your hypertext through JavaScript now.

>For instance, is there a way to allow Google scripts to load ONLY on Sup Forums, and no other site?
You can do that with ABE, but you might as well use uMatrix at that point, since it gives you a nice GUI for those sorts of rules.

I already tried noscript and I like the concept, but can someone please help me with it? I always had to disable it or to watch YouTube or to access codecademy, etc etc. What is the right way to use the plugin?

>What's the fucking point if you can't even post on Sup Forums with NoScript and barely have any functional use of the site with this shit?

Do you even 4chanX?

The ublock cucks are here

None of these scripting infested web applications will work. You can load text on web pages through the curl command in terminal.

Disabling JavaScript significantly decreases the amount of information Google, or any other website, can obtain from you.

>Disabling JavaScript significantly decreases the amount of information Google, or any other website, can obtain from you.

It also prevents you from posting on Sup Forums. You're only able to post with scripts disabled BECAUSE Google can track you.

>Captcha showed up my neighbour house
This thing has to stop

>letting a pre-compiled terminal do your browsing
>not downloading blobs of binary from the web and analyzing them yourself

It's just random streetview pictures which they want you to identify the content of.

What they're causing is a situation where in order to truly be anonymized on the Internet, it will only be possible by bring the law. For example, command and controlling a botnet in order to use them to browse with your identity completely hidden.

In Soviet America, Google search you.

You only need IP and HTTP headers to track someone across websites although it does require the system to be implemented on multiple websites. As an example...

>IP 1.2.3.4 with HTTP headers XYZ visits website1.com
>a user with matching IP and HTTP headers visits website2.com, website3.com etc.

It can be assumed with high probability that this is all the same person, especially if it's within a short time frame. Now even if you obtain a new IP from your ISP, it'll most likely be in the same IP range so then they'll see someone with a different IP but in the same IP-range as the previous user and the same HTTP headers so once again they can assume with a high probability that this is the same user. They can also use other information such as the time of the day you access the websites.

>Adding third party addons to Tor Browser

They specifically tell you to not do this

elaborate please

Request Policy is pretty useful.

Why isn't uBlock Origin included by default? It would prevent some tracking and also lower the load on the Tor network. Perhaps remove the ability to add custom lists so instead of downloading them the filters would be read from ublock0.sqlite in the Tor browser profile folder. This way everyone would have the same sets of filter, no bandwidth would be used to fetch them and they don't really need to be updated often.

>in order to truly be anonymized on the Internet, it will only be possible by breaking the law.

fixed

all these mac using wannabe mr.robot niggerfaggots on these boards with their noscript / umatrix shit. complete overkill, nobody needs that shit.

>ExHentai Easy

>Why isn't uBlock Origin included by default?

They comb over the addons they include to make sure the addon doesn't inadvertently create a security problem.

What is wrong?

To everyone claiming that uMatrix is superior in every way to NoScript: the latter supports script surrogates, while the former doesn't (AFAIK). That means less websites will break when not enabling scripts that are expected but not really necessary.

ghacks.net/2015/11/24/noscript-script-surrogates-explained/

>When you visit a site in Firefox that loads the Google Analytics script on page load, NoScript intercepts that request and replaces it automatically with the replacement instructions (which basically tell the site that the Analytics script was loaded fine but does nothing in regards to user recording).

If I recall correctly, this applies to Sup Forums too.

Whitelist only the domains you trust, or the bare minimum to get the current website working. If a website doesn't work, start by enabling its domain and *CDNs, but not analytics and ad networks. You can give temporary permissions. NoScript will remember what domains you trust and enable them wherever else on the web you encounter them (for example: once you allow YouTube, you will see embedded videos in other websites too).

Thanks for the answer. Is it safe to enable YouTube?

First off, I don't consider myself by any definition of the word and expert. This is just my personal opinion and preference when it comes to browsing/combing through the bullshit.

Umatrix is the only add on I bother with, though I suppose I should look into 'HTTPS Everywhere' as well. With Umatrix I can be assured that every site I click on will be filtered of the annoying adware and bullshit. Of course it also filters everything else that is usually necessary to fully use the site, but that is not always the case. In cases where I need to use blocked stuff, I just turn it off for that site and refresh. Again, not being an expert, I realize that turning on only a few instances is probably needed, and I did try and do this originally, but trying to figure it out for each new site is too much of a pain, so I just open the flood gates if I believe the site to be "trustworthy".

TLDR: Umatrix allows me to enter most sites without being burdened by the bullshit, unless I choose to be burdened by it. Also speeds up browsing for slow as PC's that get bogged down by bullshit scripts/ads/popups.

But can you customize and choose individual scripts you wish to let through with NoScript?

Tip: with the NoScript list popup open, shift+click the name of a domain you want to know more about. Follow the link to WoT and you'll see what people think about that domain, so you can make your decision.

But do you have a crontab entry for a script that automates the tedious task of curating/updating that hosts file?

>muh philosophy
That's retarded as fuck. Even if they want to allow ads, that's fine, but at least create a custom list to block tracking scripts. I can see why they wouldn't add uMatrix. It's probably too complicated for regular users but uBlock Origin is pretty much set-it-and-forget-it.

Do I need noscript if I already use ublock and umatrix?

No

No

>I can see why they wouldn't add uMatrix. It's probably too complicated for regular users
You shouldn't use tor if you can't handle uMatrix.

Not tedious. There are a few large projects that assemble hosts files. Wget/git the file and replace your hosts file while sending the original to a backup. Run the script once in a while and you are fine, they really don't change too often

>Tor Browser
>Extensions
>Video DownloadHelper

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

ublock hides the ads

The YouTube video and audio downloader®™ I use is the best one. Not only does it download the original files without additional compressing, you are also given the choice between all the versions and resolutions available. It also takes advantage of adaptive streaming (video only, audio only), and combines your choice of video with the best audio file available for it.

Lightbeam

I heard somewhere that noscript fills the gap left by umatrix.

Random Agent Spoofer
randomises your browser's fingerprint, because you are paranoid and don't like working pixiv. Fucking pixiv. Why do nips need your real agent and installed fonts.

Also prevents bluelink/history attacks.

Start blocking everything then go whitelisting stuff according to your needs.
Also you should use either uMatrix or NoScript + RequestPolicy.

I use both.

Opera 12 enables/disables javascript with a single click if you add the button to the UI.

The future of technology is grim. You don't even realize the illusions and delusions you people believe to hide the truth of what's happening.

A simple thing as the fact that you can't post on Sup Forums without Google knowing who you are as you post- you use some web application that you tell yourself that it's hiding you, all the while trying to deceive yourself when you know that they know. Not just Google knows everything about you, 'they' know.

Your friends are waiting for you outside in their safe space

It's the tastiest part.
