I don't care about MS spying on me, since I only use Windows for games, and all my data besides Windows is encrypted with LUKS. Should I get Windows 10? Is there a reliable way to get it for free?

Be careful with what you're installing. Also, Windows 7 has automatic defragmentation when you're not using it for a while, this what you did is basically useless.

Anyway, a solution I see would be to install Windows with all drivers, make a snapshot of the partition and restore it every once in a while.

Oh, anothjer issues I had today: I plugged a flash drive and it was "installing" it for like 5 minutes and ended with an error, and the drive wasn't registered. I've put it in another port and it worked. Not a hardware issue for sure, as all ports and the drive work on loonix.

Sound like your hardware, windows is being cautious and won't fully register it unless its working at a desired speed on the link and linux just does it at whatever speed its linked.
