That's probably the reason but YouTube has been unprofitable as well for the longest time but I doubt Google is going to shut it down or sell it anytime soon, if only to keep anyone else from hogging the market and doing it profitably at that. So is Twitter in hot water now or what? Good riddance if they're actually going to fail I say, but what's going to replace it?

Pandering to the jewish media propaganda was the death of twitter, the amount of ads within that site was rotting that website from the inside for years already.
They did it because vine growth completely tanked and was falling rapidly since 2014, again, due to excessive amounts of advertisement, sponsored "content", and an overall really broken platform, no surprise here.
