no, the gtx 1050 is a bit better and costs the same

current bang-for-buck chain is:

gtx 1050 2gb - rx470 4gb - rx480 8gb - gtx 1070 - gtx 1080

I sure hope you mena 1050 Ti

no I didn't

1050ti is in a weird spot between the 1050 and the rx470, it's too expensive considering what it has to offer

1070 and 1080 are both shit for the money, probably will be worth in few months

1050 is more expensive and not even much better and worse in dx12

Yeah sure it's not that bad.

Dx12 is irrelevant globally, but also especially for low end cards.
AMD is good for Vulkan, but if you plan to gayme, either get a 1050 or a 470.

You better take a look at 1060 6gb, if you do play vidya

GTX 1050 Ti

Far superior performance per watt & power efficiency

Don't buy AYYMD HOUSEFIRES

Best bang for the buck is the 470 imo. I just upgraded to the 480 though, found the 4gb version for $199 last week, bought a new power supply for around 35 bucks, with a 80 dollar amazon gift card balance, came out to around $170 out of pocket.

They say the 1050ti is better than the 460 in some things, I'd do your research on which vidya you want to play and see what card performs best

Now that AMD has lowered the price on the 470, it's the currant best bang for buck card.

The ram would help you, but 128-bit bus is rubbish. Same issue as the 960, its a choke point, but at least this is a minimal plug and play card unlike the 960.

But for comparison the 9800gt of the same series as your 9500gt had a bus of 256, granted the 512mb would suck these days.

Now granted the differences in the 9800 and the 460 make the mem bus not really comparable, but it annoys me. But hey you'll hit some minimum requirements for newer stuff at least and run things from the previous few years fairly well.

Don't believe AYYMDPOORFAGS lies, you can't buy any 470 at below $200

No the 460 is garbage.

Okay no it isn't but it's not worth getting.

The 470 is though.

>XFX RX-470P4SFD5
>$179.99

$99 for rx460

>AYYMD HOUSEFIRES
You know nvidia is exploding right?

No explosions, you AYYMDPOORFAGS

AYYMD HOUSEFIRES meanwhile explodes during 4770 era just from running Furmark

Currently the price delta between the 1050 ti and the rx 470 is about 30$ US, and considering the performance boost the 470 offers over the 1050 ti, it makes the 1050 ti a very awkward and price inefficient card, considering its competition.

470 is $200+, you can't buy any cards at the new price, stop lying, AYYMDPOORFAGS

what site is this?

No

Amd is the shitty company
Kys poorfag

No Titan X Pascal is the best card right now.

I had the 470 for a couple of weeks and returned it because it was trash. I was getting better fps with my gtx 960. It got too hot even though it had an msi aftermarket cooler on it.

>AYYMD HOUSEFIRES

ok, no.

desu senpai it doesn't matter much, if you're gonna use it for 1080p gaming it won't matter, I'd get a 470 4gb, new games are almost all shit any way and that card can handle whatever you throw at it.

meanwhile the 470 housefire edition runs 20C cooler.

My 6 years old 5850 is dying on me.

What should I get for a replacement? So far that card served me quite well

If you want a new card right now, 470 or 480.
If you don't mind waiting a little, wait to see if the rumours about the 475 and 485 turn out to be true.
If you can afford a high end card, either get a 1070/1080 (they will be obsolete in 1-2 years), or wait for Polaris.

Doesn't that shit come with a backplate?

Buy a mid range card like the rx 480 and maybe sell it when amd releases polaris

You also can't buy a 1050 ti for the recommended price, so the price delta stays the same regardless.
