wtf i just found another shitty thread

>he doesn't use youtube-dl with mpv

wtf i just found a shill/shitposter

i like coments
is there a way to build and app that can give me coments in a firefox window?

update

when did you have your traumatic brain injury?

>i like [youtube] comments

>ad hider
No shit

But uBlock Origin comes misconfigured on default, thats why

What else is there to configure apart from adding some more filters?

* doubleclick.net * block
* googleadservices.com * block
* googlesyndication.com * block
* googletagservices.com * block
* youtube-nocookie.com * block

Sometimes people get hit with a delay when starting videos (the delay is as long as an ad would be). Are they testing some anti-adblock shit?

Serious question, if it only hides ads and doesnt block them then why do pages load so much faster?

It was impossible to actually stop ads from loading in Chrome, but that was fixed several years ago. So he's full of shit.

Never had that problem. I have extra filters and keep them up to date though.

>i like coments

>using several programs juts to do one thing
>the linux philosophy

Because hiding ads is easier on resources rather than blocking them completely.

I dont believe you

Because you're replaying to a blatant shitpost

>he doesnt use mpv as a media player for movies or music
>he doesnt download videos with youtube-dl

Pleb

>Linux philosophy
I think you meant GNU/Linux, also, UNIX philosophy.

And tell me this is not elegant:
dpkg --help | less

And you don't even need to use 2 programs... just install mpv and youtube-dl, then install open with mpv in firefox or copy the url and paste it in the terminal like so:
mpv youtube.com/foobar

nice edit
will you post uhide wiki now goy?

Or I could just open the URL in my browser and watch there conveniently.

or i can just use a real media player like mpc-hc with madvr and xysubfilter

Even so this thread has nothing to do with mpv, but uBlock Origin not blocking ads. Sinple fix: Update your filterlist.

And you wouldnt have as good a picture. Streaming with mpv is the shit.

Oh look an insecure mpc-hc+madvr user. Use whatever you want guy. I however prefer mpv.

>shitload of filters
>good

ok kid

install reek's userscript.

That Play with MPV extension for Firefox is pretty nice. I don't use it for every video though.

The fuck are you on about?

Block it instead of making a blog post about it, you stupid fucking faggot.

I'm pretty sure ublock was never affected by that in the first place because it was made well after the fix landed.

that's precisely the problem retard, with my solution anyone can by pass ads reliably

winbabby

That image is an edit used to troll and you're just bullshitting. ublock is supposed to block basically all known ads out of the box, OP may have to report his ads to the list maintainer so they can update the list.

never happened here
1set filters to autoupdate
2 use antiaddblock list

this

you get the added bonus of not giving a channel your precious views

where does this go?

"My Rules" in dashboard. It's dynamic fitering.
github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Dynamic-filtering

Anything else I should block? I only installed ublock recently. Before I just used ABP with the default settings.

There's some good filters on filterlists.com. Reeks anti adblock list is a must. I also use easylist adblock warning removal.

Reeks I already have. Will see about the others.

Add this:
s3.amazonaws.com/lists.disconnect.me/simple_ad.txt
to custom lists. I think it's enough. Do not overdo it, uBlock may then be lazy.

sure

github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Does-uBlock-block-ads-or-just-hide-them?

good goy

Do I have to just copy the url of the txt and put it there?

Update your filters, add more.

Chrome, and maybe other browsers, install a plug-in that directly connects with YouTube. It probably speeds up the processing speed or load times of YouTube videos and pages, but it also bypasses adblock.

To remove the YouTube app, go to chrome://apps and right click on it and select remove.

gorhill fixed that months ago.

For some reason I have this issue with uBlock not auto updating my filter lists. I can just go update manually if I must, and I have uMatrix blocking most third party stuff by default, but I wonder what's keeping it from updating my filters on its own.

Is it possible to have a YouTube link automatically stream through mpv on Android?

>that thing that happens to nobody

I'm laughing so fucking hard

it happens if the list hasnt updated and youtube changed some servers

Which add-on do you use for that?

github.com/antoniy/mpv-youtube-dl-binding
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/watch-with-mpv/

>loasing ads, but hiding them is easier on resources than not loading them at all
You best explain yourself

>not using Ghostery with Noscript and uBlock
>using ABP, ever
People on this board, man...

>i just got a youtube ad you can't skip or block

it's one of those new netflix ads. they don't let you skip or block them

do you know how to download multiple youtube videos at once?

> not using OpenWith

do you have autism, or a shitty computer that can't handle HTML5?

>the linux philosophy
Debian here. I'm using only Firefox. What now kiddo?

How about upgrade the filters list dumbarse?

I use a gui I wrote to use rss feeds with livestreamer and mpc-hc. Is it good enough fampai?

>not using router-based adblock

>Debian here

TOR

>use ABP and ublock
>still get ads sometimes
I think it's time for a third blocker

ublock never actually blocks youtube ads

Found the tech illiterati.

kek

Mine does, perfect track record for that.

Make sure to grab a few new toolbars while you're at it

I've been using simple "AdBlock" (the one with the hand in the logo, not pro/plus) for years and never see any ads

>not using both a hosts file and uBlockOrigin
pleb
winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

They all block basically the same things, they just use lists and what ads are blocked depends on what ads are listed. If it's missing ads report it to the maintainer of the list you use.

This thread is fucking unbelievable

Ripping content in 2016
Get a load of this guy

kill yourself desu

Are you retarded or just pretending?

>no ad blockers on chrome
>No ad blockers on Android general
Wtf

You would think with so many programmers out there there'd be an ad blocker for androids

>Inb4 you gotta rice it man
Fuck that

Firefox for android does not have this problem :^)

Are you trying to compete for the "moron of the day" award with him ? You have hosts on Android, use them.

Are you trying to compete for the "moron of the day" award with him ? You have hosts on Android, use them.

You would think that with pretty much free Internet access, people would at least bother to Google stuff instead of spewing bullshit, but this is Sup Forums alright.

no i'm saying that you need to kill yourself

I think you won, congrats. Moron

>i'm smart for knowing what the hosts file does
>i don't understand that it's redundant for running the browser when using the same lists in uBlock
kill yourself retard

Congratulations kid.

>not using Firefox

Why are you on Sup Forums?

>using ghostary

More is better, r-right?
Am I a retard?

No
Yes

Thanks for the detailed and well formulated response.
But doesn't every adblock have it's own way of identifying and filtering ads so multiples would block more types of ad?
In my head I'm picturing something like pic related

so, anyone know a way to block the twitch prime ads?

or you could just watch through a browser like a non-autist

>go to nhentai
>quick window pops up and closes
>go to youtube
>Watch nfkrz video
>notice the yellow ad marker for a second and then disappears
i think i abp is slower because it actually blocks ads before the page loads

stop being a jew and get youtube red to actually support content creators

>(((content creators)))
