Which browser(s) do you use and why?

I use Google Chrome because it has everything I need and is faster than Firefox.

Pale moon

I don't. In fact I don't even use an OS, or drivers or any kind of hardware: I have the ability to read binary code and run it in my mind. Fuck assembly.

I use Chromium because it's de-botneted and is faster than Firefox.

Firefox, because about:config and addons. It's just as fast as any browser on Linux, so I see no reason to use anything else.

Waterfox

Opera because I like the features
Unfortunately I'm getting some sort of bug where when I tab away from a tab with a video it will just start looking like every individual pixel in the video is moving around and degrades the quality so I might use a different browser unless there's a way to fix this

brave browser and vivaldi. theyre unironically better than chrome and of course anything is better than firefox.

I use Google Chrome for being a normal and productive member of society and Mozilla Firefox for being an autistic frog worshiper. Mozilla does a better job at allowing deeper customization. Everything flows right if you're into customization. It is bulky, slow, and annoying to use, however, but worth it never the less.

I did this at the start until I got into customization with extensions and such.

For what purpose?

5/7

Is Chromium worth it? I've been trying to replace Google Chrome to see if I can do better. Canary seems to be just autistic with no benefit other than not working properly. What does Google even add? Why wouldn't everyone just use Chromium? Is it that stupid Sign in to Chrome button because I can do without that.

Never messed with that, but I assume Mozilla allows MUCH more customization on that end although I don't think Google is far behind. They allow some serious tinkering too.

What features? I remember installing it for the built in adblocker and pop out video player. Both of which didn't work, at all. I don't even think pop out worked on YouTube. Instantly uninstalled it.

I remember Vivaldi. Really liked the design, but just couldn't stick with it for whatever reason.

the built in adblocker, pop out player and VPN to bypass region locked videos mostly, also I like the UI

I use Chromonium, Open Source, de-botneted, faster then Firefox.

I use Google Chrome on my desktop computer because its fast.
I'm using Pale Moon on my laptop for experimenting and to see how stable it is on old hardware and its doing surprisingly well with just 1 Gig of ram.
what are some other light browsers for craptops

Chromium, it has based linux sandbox.

>Why wouldn't everyone just use Chromium?

Just absurd marketing campaign for Chrome by Google. Once you see past that there's no real reason not to use Chromium, it gets all the newer features before Chrome plus no Big Brother intrusive bullshit.

I don't use a browser, I type my post on a typewriter and fax them to the admin directly.

Typed on my Rheinmetal typewriter.

qutebrowser
>muh keyboard loves when I type

So does Firefox :^)

>Which browser(s) do you use and why?

Just Pale Moon. Support for FF's extensions, but without the bloat and unwanted features. Extension support is a little spotty in some cases, but I haven't had any compatibility issues with the dozen or so extensions I do use.

SeaMonkey is nice in principle, but extension support is bottom of the barrel. Few extension developers bother to maintain any compatibility with SM.

Chrome is outrageously bloated compared to Firefox. Not even going there.

Opera used to be good before it ditched the Presto engine, now it's another pointless Chrome clone. Vivaldi doesn't offer any improvements over Opera, and is just retarded shillware that gets spammed on Sup Forums.

Midori might be nice if there were more extension support, but that's probably never going to happen.

Anything by Microsoft isn't even worth mentioning.

Firefox nightly on my desktop (win 10 and arch)
Pale moon or iridium on my craptop.
Iridium is much faster, but also heavier on resources and drains battery faster, so I usually only use that if the laptop is plugged in.

Opera because it's just Chrome with a superior interface. Also free VPN is useful.

I use pic related

I find myself using Firefox and Chrome one month and then the other. It just seems that an update breaks the browser every now and then so I have to switch. And then of course another update for the other browser breaks something so I have to switch again.

I use chrome for any web video stuff - Firefox locks up or drops frames too much.

But I use Firefox for everything else.

The current issues with the new tab spinner problems render it almost unusable though.

The fact that they acknowledge that it ruins the multiprocess model yet they still refuse to give a fix timeline leave me very disappointed.

Their outright vocal hatred of extension developers who didn't "get with the program" is also pushing me towards other software.

HAHAHHAHAHHA HE ACTUALLY BELIEVES A CHROME IS FASTER THAN A FOX HAHAHHAHAHHA

Waterfox.

Seamonkey, because it's like firefox used to be before the shitty hipster UI design

PENIS

Except for all the data-mining.

>I did this at the start until I got into customization with extensions and such.
what extensions would you recommend?

>imgay.ong

I use Chromium because it's open source, it has an extension I need and Firefox is too slow nowadays.

Looking forward to switch back to Firefox when Project Quantum gets anywhere.

trigger warning I use safari because it comes preinstalled on my macbook anything else is unnecessary autism

I build Chromium from source

Firefox just because the DeepDark theme and the TabMix extension

Chrome for everyday use, Firefox for porn

firefox

Chromium, because Firefox is a browser stuck in 2007.

Edge

Chromium

>chromium.woolyss.com/
>No sync • No WebRTC • No Widevine
This version

Chrome, because I need the data sync. But my data is end-to-end encrypted, so theoretically Google can't read it.

>inb4 botnet
I literally just said it encrypts my data.

kek

anime desktop fags btfo

Vivaldi, because I liked opera 12.x

Source on that ?

>no big brother intrusive bullshit
Almost. The one thing keeping me from moving to chromium over firefox personally is that I do not want to sync my browsing history with a Google account. I trust Firefox Sync far more and I am able to get it synced to all devices. Is there any sort of de-Googled sync workaround for Chromium?

Your keystrokes going into the app aren't encrypted.

Anyone know of an extension that allows middle mouse click rocker gestures?

Ex: I press middle click and then right click to go to the tab to the right.

I used mouse gestures redox for this but it is no longer compatible with Firefox. All of the top chrome mouse gestures extensions don't allow this.

Chromium with Google sync and sign in shit removed

You are years behind the times if you don't assume that everything you say or do on there internet isn't recorded, disseminated and available for public consumption.

We entered the post privacy age long ago.

>I do not want to sync my browsing history with a Google account
You're in luck then, get this thing
henrypp.org/product/chrlauncher
Then set it to use one of the -nosync builds of Chromium

>Open Source

There is an improved version of it
It's called Google Chrome

but I only use Firefox
I wish there was a better alternative though. Get rid of every meme on firefox and focus on privacy and I'll delete my firefox in 2 seconds

Try going on this website on both browsers and look testufo.com/

I am well aware but still take some peace knowing my history is encrypted on my device when I use Firefox. Also the Android client has add-ons.

I guess I wasn't clear -- I would love to keep my history, tabs, and bookmarks synced, just not tied to a Jewgle account.

Firefox is unfortunately the only good browser
Developers and modern programmers are such retards they couldn't release a competitor yet

Yeah ublock alone makes it the only real option.

firefox-is-a-good-browser.github.io/

w3m from inside emacs.

Free VPN you say? Elaborate.

...

i don't see the issue with firefox

not him, but i wouldn't trust any free vpn

i ain't clicking that shit

>doesn't even show up on google

Google ultron

Firefox Nightly, though current versions have some stupid shit going on.

The issue I have with opera is that it cannot deal with self-signed certificates. You can add an exception but it still won't fucking load random content from the webpage, leaving it broken. If they fixed this I would be using opera.

Vivaldi is shit, but at least less shit than others.

I guess I might try Iridium if all goes to hell.

Never had much of a reason to switch from Safari.

I've been using IceCat just to try it out. It's not too bad.

It kinda stutters (at least for me) and it's doing the same with Flash based stuff and Youtube videos
On Chrome everything is fast and smooth although I still prefer Firefox because everything else is botnet

which operating system are you using?
firefox is super stuttery and clunky for me on linux, but on windows and macOS it's just as smooth as chrome

I use Chrome because im retarded

internet explorer because it just werkz

Safari, Chrome, Firefox.

Firefox, because I have used it for a long time now and are comfortable with it. I also think Chrome is a botnet.

Windows 7 actually
I've got maybe 5-6 addons but they aren't that demanding
Maybe I should try to reinstall it and create a new profile because I've been using this one for years

huh, that's odd.
i use windows 7 on my desktop pc as well and don't have any issues (although my only add-ons are ublock origin and greasemonkey)

Chromium because fast and de-googled
Waterfox because x64 & standby browser

>Opera because I like the features
Opera is dead, son. Vivaldi is the new Opera

...

I use Chrome because I'm just used to it. Firefox is nice but the ui is inconsistent and is slightly slower.

I use new Opera and you can't stop me

separation of concerns

>chrome: general use
>firefox: torrenting, whatcd
>safari: anime, tv
>opera: porn

nobody ever thinks to open opera. at least nobody who isn't comfortable with a history full of futa porn

I use Firefox because its the default on most distros, I just have to sign into sync.

I wish I could browse Sup Forums with a text-based browser. Fucking captcha.

Chrome and Firefox are identical for me.

I have no idea then. I'll just try to reinstall it because Firefox clearly stutters on that website after a second or so.

qutebrowser, because everything else is a pile of horseshit

firefox is the second best browser but mozilla is fucking ruining it with their forced spyware addons, removal of features and desperate attempt to make it into a chrome clone

I use palemoon as a fallback browser for stuff that breaks in webkit but it's a dead-end fork with not much life left in it

Ungoogled-chromium
I dont know why you guys put up with all the garbage out there

>Baww Windows 10

Don't waste your time making informational shit if you can't make it objective.

chromium no sync

windows 10 is shit by all objective measures, and this is coming from someone who has used microsoft products since windows 95

Firefox nightly from fbuild

Tab groups and vertical tabs are something I love. Containers are really convenient too, since I have multiple gmails I access each day.

Awful graph.

It's literally use Firefox unless you have no other choice.

Switched from Chrome to Vivaldi. Literally feels like the exact same thing minus the fucktardery Google will subject you to.

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 N is currently the best and fastest Windows-based operating system out there.

yeah the pop out player sucks, you can turn it off in the dev options
and the built-in adblocker is pointless when you can just install ublock.

I only use Opera for its speed. Feels way faster than anything else I've used.

>firefox dev
>allow microphone on site
>can't remove that annoying fucking icon that lets you know microphone is in use
bravo mozilla

Sure

If you don't mind Pajeet watching you masturbate

Seriously? I like the pop-out player, it's the main reason I prefer Opera to Chromium

Is there an extension or something that rivals it?

Chrome
Convenience

ff and it's shit
