linux masterrace

Some of us have to run real software

why didn't you post ssd model

also nice quads

>Tfw virtualized.

PNY CS1311

wine seemed rather ...o[optimistic... about the read speeds.

...

2 120GB 840Pros in RAID0, the write speed has been gradually falling started happening at around 15TB written, not too worried.

Samsung 850 Pro 512GB

ZFS with ARC on RAM (64GB) and L2ARC on SSD (256 GB)

You can have all the fancy hardware in the world if you aren't using it well.

Top is an 850 Pro for Windows and shit, bottom is an SSDNow V300 for whichever vidya I'm currently playing

>130 MB/s writes
what the fuck kind of shitty SSD controller is that?

Probably a Sandforce or something, it was only $29 on eBay, and games load almost instantaneously, so it's not the worst thing in the world

x58 i7 920 master race

intel 330, and cheap sandisk

Gotta go pretty fast for a SATA3.

better than I expected from a Sandisk ssd plus

tuff

4x146GB 10K SAS hard drives in RAID 0 - P400 raid controller -130GB NTFS partition

Does anyone have a test from an SSD over USB 3.0 PCI-E card?

I'm on an old server and was thinking about just using an external SSD since at least then I could move it on to whatever computer I use next.

> sequential write lower than random write speed
Kys

>crystaldiskmark is open sores
>has to use WINE
true power of freetardism

good enough for what I use, but such a small number makes me feel bad everytime I see it

850 EVO 120GB

Just upgraded from x5650 to skylake and want to upgrade from this shit again

>tfw the throttling kicks in

chinese heatsinks can't get here fast enough

iktf

you're supposed to post in megabytes not minibits

Girls don't have disk, stupid

>Red Hat
>WINE
hi Lennart

Threadly reminder that if you don't use Shizuku Edition your mark is invalid.

>1111

eat shit and die

3x73gb 15k SAS RAID5 Dell Perc 5/i controller.

Really shows how far SSD tech came.

here is a single 5TB WD black 7200RPM HDD

it's time for you to leave Sup Forums

< 850 evo 250 GB

< 850 evo 500 GB full of games

Wtf is wrong with this shit? I use sata 3 port and cable on asus hero z97.

cheap ssd, mate.

that's what you get for buying generic no-name cheap shit SSD drives just because it was cheaper

Can you read at all? This is not kingdian from ali.

It's also what ~4-5 years old at this point?

Those results are totally normal.

The only people handily beating your scores are those with Samsung 960 pro and similar getting 1500MB/s+

I want to marry Shizuku

ANUUUU CHEEEKII BREEEKIII DAMVKE

>shitty MLC NAND
>SandForce controller
haha yeah, no wonder

it's cheap generic shit. Should have gotten a Samsung 960 Pro instead

840 pro etc. already beat his write speeds. His controller sucks (sandforce) and can't into spare blocks, that's why you get those piss-poor write speeds even though the read speeds are fine (for SATA)

Even so, it came out in 2012, and as most people know, read speed and latency are far more important for everyday use than write speed.

Especially on a 120GB drive that is probably 1/2 used by his windows install and base programs.

My Crucial MX300 is arriving soon, guys. I'm finally joining the SSD masterrace!

Honestly going from HDD to SSD was the biggest leap in pc use for me, even more so than getting my first q6600. The level of fluidity and quickness is just unmatched, an HDD just feels unbearable to use as primary.

>what is file system cache
how little RAM are you on? or maybe you're just using a shitty cache algorithm (in b4 lolwindows)

Just an EVO. 0 complaints.

I recently upgraded to z170 just to have real 6gbps port.

My z77 motherboard had 4 marvel "6gbps" controllers and two intel "6gbps" ones.

Intels could reach the full 550 on both read and write, but as soon as you plugged the ssd into either of the marvel ones they capped out at 350. The motherboard advertised just 6 "6gbps" ports too, fucking gigabyte.

Some several year old Intel 530 Series 180 GB SSDs in raid0

Laptop has a 950 Pro which performs as expected

Morning gents

Oh yeah
It's an 850 Evo

Next upgrade is switching from ebola 60Hz refresh rate to 100+

...

alright user, my dick is 50% smaller than yours, and my dish speed is also 50% of yours
