well, the good news is you didn't fall for 16GB meme
the bad news is you fell for several other memes

i5-6400 is total shit compared to the i5-6500's price/performance.

Well there's user thread got scammed hard paying for almost identical spec like yours for $2000. But build your own pc is much better desu senpai.

>16GB meme

Fak you

>i5 6400
But the i3 6300 is better, and the i3 6100 is on par in most programs...

>too poor to be able to buy more than 12GB

Ecks Dee

New spaceship? Ayy

Managed to build something similar for $750 so you didn't do too badly for a prebuilt. It's not great by any means but it'll be able to play pretty much any game you throw at it at 60FPS/1080p ultra so it's not all bad.

You'll be gaming at 1080p 60fps all the time, but you paid about $300 more than what you should.

The only thing you're really missing is an SSD. Fortunately for about $100 you could throw one in and get a HUGE performance boost.

>SSD: 256 GB

>>Hard Drive: 1TB
>>SSD: 256 GB
>>The only thing you're really missing is an SSD.

Looks like you're missing your glasses.

for labor and that kinda storage i'd say you did pretty well.

>he fell for the SSD meme
>he fell for the Intel meme
>he fell for the Nvidia meme

Damn that's fine

where did you get this deal son

its ok, build your own next time and watch out for PSU. Pre-built PCs use crap ones, mine once started smoking. ignore keks who say 6300 is better - its better on single core but is only dual-core. Future is quad-code for next 5-10 years

Good point, in which case OP, you did really fucking well.

Superior price/performance

really strokes my autism

that's shittier

wow $20

>$150 for CPU
>$160 for GPU
vs

>$180 for CPU
>$220 for GPU

Yeah, no thanks.

>falling for >3GB for 1080p

>not modding games with graphics/texture overhauls
>not owning a 27" 1440p
>being poor
I guess if you only play mobas and card games then 3GB is enough

>1440p
>GTX 1060
Keep dreaming kiddo

>exact same thing
>except I have to overclock lmao

The assumption is, you overclock both of them since they're the same chip.

>Windows and gaymen shit is now so bloated and unoptimized that it needs 16 GB to perform basic functions

>CPU: i5 6500
MOBO:MSI B150 M3
RAM:8(2x4GB) DDDR4
GPU: XFX RX 480 8GB
HDD:Western Digital caviar blue 1tb 7200rpm
PSU:EVGA 650w 80plus

With a case and some other stuff it's around $840

>CPU: Intel i7-6700K
>RAM: 16GB 3000hz
>HDD: 2TB
>SSD: 128GB
>GPU GTX 1070 STRIX 8GB

>talking about which components are best to build with is not tech related
>hurrduurrrr we need moar linux and gnu threads

>no receipt
>obvious b8
no (You)s for ya mate

in 30 years computers will use a terabyte of ram to do essentially the same thing people in the 90s did with 64 megabytes of ram and nobody will say anything because "muh ram not used is ram wasted"

You fucked up.

>SSD meme

If your os isn't on an ssd yet I feel horribly sorry for you

>Intel meme
I concur

>nvidia meme
better cards, better prices. If you can't recognize this then you're a fanboy and you should kys asap, tyvm :)

I spent 750€ on this used PC a few months ago. How did I do?

>Intel Core i5 6500 @ 3.20GHz 34 °C
>16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1064MHz (12-14-14-28)
>MSI H170 GAMING M3 (MS-7978) (U3E1) 39 °C
>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 (MSI) 42 °C
> 2 x 447GB Crucial CT480BX200SSD1 (SSD) 33 °C

Hey hol up. I looked at a few benchmarks that said 6GB shows BARELY any improvement over 3GB. Should I shell out for the 6GB or what?

You can never have enough RAM. Especially if you like textures and VR.
