gimme the most basic, foolproof, vanilla-esque config file to use

profile=opengl-hq

How

Added waifu2x screenshots to user scripts.

A day since the latest madVR release and still no new algorithm dump!
It seems the new protection added by madshi is good after all.

Oh shit now I want a new prescaler like NGU.

looks like watercolor painting

...

Yeah that can happen on some images if you max out the noise reduction.

It's good for taking cropped screenshots because the noise is more noticeable in them.

Neat, downloading now.

How do I change this tittlebar from grey shit color to better color?

How would I go about using autosub on windows?

So... what exactly is MPV?
Why is it superior to say, VLC?
Is there anything I need to do after installing it or is it good from the get go?

>what exactly is mpv?
Its a media player that can play everything vlc can

>Why is it superior to say, VLC?
The colors are a lot better as well as rendering

>Is there anything I need to do after installing it
You dont have to do anything, but adding profile=opengl-hq to the config file increases quality. It's just higher output settings.
If you're on windows adding priority=high helps with performance.

Just keep in mind its not for everyone because it doesnt have a gui.

I've no issue with the lack of a GUI and I'm sure if I am really missing it then I can find a GUI front-end for it on arch.

Keyboard shortcuts all the way, amirite?

Outside of the lack of GUI what sort of cool things can I do with it? I saw someone mentioning something about screentshots earlier in the thread.

Yep, you can control everything with your keyboard. You can make your own keybinds aswell.
Check out all the links in the OP for what you can do with the config file and what features you can add with scripts. Make sure you know what things do before you copy and paste stuff in your config file.

The new adaptive sharpen release looks good, thanks!

Will do!

Where do I enter things like "profile=opengl-hq" I see no config file?

make one where the mpv binary is at

You make a text file and name it mpv.conf

Here's another config with more comments to understand what they do
github.com/Argon-/mpv-config/blob/master/mpv.conf

Doesn't that have more to do with your OS and not mpv?
You could always use no-border

If that's the case, I thought the color would be like this though, since it's the standard.

>All that banding
No fucking thanks.

Is there any way to mimic livestreamer's --retry-streams switch in mpv/youtube-dl? It's really annoying having to reopen streams 10-20 times after they start on twitch before they work, since it seems like youtube-dl doesn't pick them up straight away. It would be a lot better if it would just keep retrying until the stream loaded (or you quit mpv)

Just gave it a try. As an Xmonad user (inb4 fag), it does not show me the OSC. Not that it's necessary, but can this be solved?

you could bind a key to loadfile ${path}

>livestreamer
Deprecated. Use streamlink.

>mimic livestreamer's switch in mpv/youtube-dl
Hint: I'm using neither livestream nor streamlink, and I would prefer not to since youtube-dl works fine for me besides this one issue.

might be a lua issue

Seems like path becomes (unavailable) after it fails to load.

filter_kernels: add ability to taper kernels/windows, add tukey window

What is that tukey window? Is it useful for something?

How do I add/enable GLSL filters? Do I just stick them in .config/mpv or do I need to enable them somehow?

Madshi's NGU is much better than all the shits from mpv.

what's the difference in quality

>muh watercolor painting meme

Jesus christ, how about you download sources that aren't compressed to YIFY-tier bitrates to begin with?

>Why is it superior to say, VLC?
It focuses on configurability and correctness (i.e. correct rendering)

VLC focuses on ease of use and pretty much nothing else

go away foozoor
