I like MATE better.

/thread

Agree.

I prefer the K Desktop Environment

>all of that ugly shite down the side
>two clocks
>two dates
>that icon spacing in the bar
>those temperatures
>that memory usage
>thinking clear rhymes with there

this looks like some 14 year old's cool rainmeter theme

>using a DE that was designed to be used on tablets even though it's not

fucking love whatever pic related is called as opposed to having a taskbar

tfw i3-gaps C:

>GNOME
that's not KDE

KDE has it but also a taskbar

is this the new desktop thread

You are even worse than Kevin and Isaac combined.

Me too.

>people say gnome is a terrible bloated tablet DE
>try it
>it's the comfiest DE

is Sup Forums just contrarian? is there any better combo than gnome for a full DE and dwm for just a wm?

>having to click more
>good

funny how you anime posters always relate to the retarded/basically autistic girls from each show

hi jordan did u finish k-on yet

Windows 10 has that too by the way. WinKey + Tab.

>is Sup Forums just contrarian?
Of course, are you retarded? Sup Forums is also masochistic.

not yet, October through December are VERY busy for me. I'm only at home and awake for about an hour and a half per day!

...

>gnome
>bloated

literally no one has ever said this. gnome has the exact opposite problem.

It objectively isn't in any aspect aside from utopian design concepts and I could even measure it if I was autistic enough.
Nuff said, /thread

i understand
pls finish it when u get the chance

well Sup Forums is full of people devoted to a diffrent DE paradigm tiling WM.

i must say, that once you go tWM, every single DE seems a toy really. but that does not mean that KDE, GNOME or MATE are bad, they just simulate window behavior as xerox invented them.

...

That's a Linux problem, not a Firefox problem.

Firefox is still shit though but for other reasons.

>I don't know how to resolve simple problems

GNOME is too heavy for a laptop.

...

touch the mouse to the upper left corner of your screen -> click the window you want. Super great for staying comfy reclining in your chair

I've tried to post this like 6 times. I'm literally going to gouge someone's eyes out my internet is so shit

maybe a shitty laptop, of course most people that use Linux on personal computers are absolute third world poorfags so I guess I can see where you're coming from.

it's a gnome problem/firefox problem

it's not on me to fix Mozilla's browser i'll use the one on the left until they do

case in point, gnomefag's internet is so bad it takes 6 tries to post on Sup Forums

How does your taskbar look like that? And what color scheme are you using? Screenshots of workspace theme and application style options would be nice.

You don't have to click more, just quickly shove the pointer into the hot corner of the screen.

it's not the same though.
win10 win+tab manages windows, but the gnome menu manages everything

It manages multiple desktops too.

WinXCorners

papirus theme for taskbar
papirus color scheme
qt style: qtcurve with redflat theme

But doesn't gnome drain battery faster than mate or xfce?

I don't know LOL
What idiot takes a computer out on battery when you could just use your phone until you get to the nearest desk where you plug in?

and it does a horrible job at it too, i curse at it multiple times a day at work

if you click a desktop and then move your mouse it switches to the desktop under your mouse, not even sure if you mouse has to be directly over that desktop either. it drives me mad. opening links with multiple browser windows open is a guessing game as to where it got opened as well

I prefer i3 for most tasks, when I need a DE i choose something touchscreenfriendly like gnome or unity since I only use DEs for tablet-mode.

Yes, and giving it attention just makes things worse.

Report and ignore. Report and ignore.
Say it with me now.

>gnome3 users
>bunch of closet macfags

No surprise here.

r*de

not even a linux problem, I don't have it when using i3, in unity you don't have it when the window is maxed.

At least you can play the game with that dinosaur in your pic.

But when you look at resource usage it's not lighter than KDE though, and I say that even though I currently use GNOME.
That's what people mean by bloated in this case.

KDE user here, memory needs for last 1 month in pic

ayy u rite

internet fags BTFO

what software is this? if you dont mind asking me.

What distro is that?
Also theme?
Also how do you have whatsapp and slack apps?

Nice taste in doujins, man.

Personally I use Unity because I need something that does not fuck around (the titlebar gets integrated into top bar) and I hide the shitty sidebar. I really liked i3 but I had trouble with volume control and such.

gtk3 is horrible pile of shit, even qt5 consumes less resources
can't wait for lxqt lubuntu release

>i3 but I had trouble with volume control
How? It works perfectly for me.

Basically I had to use this command line program to be able mute, increase or decrease sound.

Ansimixer or something like that.

...

I'm looking forward to Lubuntu 17.04 too, but more out of curiosity than anything.

I use amixer and it works perfectly. You should give it a try.

...

What kind of shittop are you using? My used $150 T420 Thinkpad that came out in 2011 runs it fine. Im back to KDE now because I had other problems with it and its such a chore to do basic things like changing settings.

It was a comment more about battery drain than anything else.

battery is shit no matter what you use in linux

That red diagonal line reminds me of of a portrait of recently deceased.
Gnome expired and good riddance

Lies.
I got 11 hours on X200 with 9 cell battery using openbox.

...

>these colors
Does GNOME have a feature to change color scheme without changing default theme?

It's a cancer. Here, loud and clear.

...

i hate the new gnome

>best DE
>still no thumbnails on file picker
Sure thing buddy

yes

Okay I admit that's pretty cool. Now tell me what the dock software is.

Use MATE then, fagtron 9000

Idiot

Gnome (on Fedora) is the only desktop GUI I've been able to stick with without having to tinker much. All I need is two or three extensions. (e.g. Caffeine and Dash-to-Dock)

All other DE/WM I've tried seemed to require a lot of tinkering.

Not OP, but the dock software I use is Dash to Dock:
extensions.gnome.org/extension/307/dash-to-dock/

Hows you get this skin on your Mac? I want

That's quite pathetic.

Mac doesn't support icon themes, so you would have to manually change each app icon.

YOU

You posted a screenshot in a desktop thread a while back. Mind reposting it?

I donno man, I've gotten used to xfce and when it broke and I had to use GNOME, it was painfully overbloated and unnecessary.

hi jordan
why do you have a pass AND your a trip
wow jordan youre a very big faggot desu

thats not a trip

This? (not that guy)

imagine using linux lol

Yas. Thanks mang

I had that wallpaper. Why is everyone using the same 30-40 wallpapers on the internet?
