golang sucks
Golang sucks
agreed. it's a servelet language for pajeets who find java/c# too complex.
itt: people who don't know shit about software at scale.
Have fun being code monkeys your entire lives, retards.
But... Rob Pike, Master Autist, wrote it....
The equivalent go program of a C++ project compiles in under a minute, instead of one hour. But of course you wouldn't understand, because all you're able to write is hello world and fizz buzz. Holy fuck the CS field is filled with retards.
...
B but Ken Thompson was on the core design team of the language.
Rob Pike wrote it to be palatable to young new Google employees that were getting confused trying to use real languages
This. Go was designed to make employees replaceable.
He didn't write it alone, you morons. He is responsible for the concurrency stuff, you know, the stuff that makes it actually scalable to millions of routines. Go is an open source project under the BSD licence. There are hundreds of people that contribute to it.
Go > Rust > D > JavaScript > C > C++ > Java
Go and javascript developers make $70k starting, get to work remotely any where in the world, get to build new and exciting projects, and get laid constantly.
C++ and Java devs make $35k starting, have to work in silicon valley or some other shitty city where cost of living is sky high, have to maintain legacy spaghetti code of old desktop enterprise apps, and don't ever have sex.
Sorry but this is the truth. Source: I'm a C++ dev
...
> JavaScript > C
Get the Fuck outta here
It's nearly as fast, and the code is easier to understand.
It makes sense for JavaScript because webdevs are normies. No one uses Go.
It's the fastest growing programming language of 2016.
5/10
I'm a C++ dev for financial systems a make $160k and get laid regularly. (and would more-so if I got a better gf)
>that picture
what the fuck are you doing?
>le scalable scaling meme I read about on quora
if you want to be a true leet you have to be able to maintain legacy code, like RPG4 on IBM machines
everything else is potentially jivyanth ben rajeep startupper tier shit
It's designed for large scale software. If you haven't worked on a project that is tens of millions of lines of code, developed and maintained by dozens of people over several decades, then your opinion of Go is pretty meaningless.
>le millions of lines of code meme that's more maintainable because of le syntax and le typing and not management, documentation or modelisation
fuck I'm outta here
Go has the best docs of any language.
like that's my point
retard
Jesus christ man. Reading comprehension.
