>mfw waiting for my new keyboard in the mail
Lolita spyder owner here.
There's one fault about this keyboard and I'm not sure if it's just mine or it's a matter of build quality.
The shift keys and space bar have a switch on the middle and a couple of stabilizers(?) on the sides which fit into the cherry-like cross inserts.
My left shift, however, if pressed on the left, tilts and makes the press harder than it should be. It all seems to fit perfectly, but it still tilts, as if the stabilizers are not synched.
Has anyone ever had a problem like this?
inb4 "cheap chink shit", I know about that. Just trying to come up with a solution.
are you the guy with the glossy v60s
$50
Do I get it?
Do I even want memechanical switches?
Friendly reminder that if you aren't typing on ZEALIOS you are not living your life correctly
>lolita
fucking pedophile
also just lube up your cheap chink shit
dew it
Maybe I'll have better luck cnc'ing this stuff
its $50 just go for it
What's the closest keyboard to a whitefox that I can buy RIGHT NOW?
MUST accept gateron switches though,
none of that cherry crap for me thanks
Hey guys should I spend $200 on a Corsair RGB keyboard with brown switches?
RS68 on originativeco
no
if rgb is worth so much to you, get a coolermaster or ducky
Those don't have gamer cred though
Do I have to solder?

Browns vs Clears? for typing and gaming
...

>ANSI
browns are shit switches hence the color
youtube.com
why are cherry switches so shit
Check the page for them.
Hey senpai how much was your tada68?
Did you go with 3tg gateron?
Did you have to assemble/solder it yourself?
about 120 bucks with shipping
Yeah, 35g gateron clears
Nope, came pre-assembled and everything, though I wouldn't have minded it being a bit cheaper and assembling it myself instead.
what's your opinion on gateron clears?
Fuck now I regret not hearing about it in time
Would have been fun
their like cherry clears
No they're 35g.
Cherry clears are like 50g iirc
Easily my favorite switch so far.
Next up would be Topre, mx clears and gateron black. And I've still got some other switches to try. But gateron clears, especially in combination with the TADA68, providing a very nice sound in combination with the very solid plate and case, and the thicc pbt keycaps.
That being said, I've still got some other switches to try out and also use other keyboards with different switches depending on what I'm doing. But the TADA68 has been getting the most use of all by a long stretch.
like cherry clears thats 15g lighter
any budget keyboards with gateron clears you can recommend?
>APPLE A1048 FV
Worth buying?
I honestly don't know of any.
The TADA68 is already almost budget to me, especially when you consider the features it comes with.
You could get some cheap-ass chinkboard and replace the switches with gateron clears.
MagicForce 68
No. I took one apart some time ago. The build quality is decent, but it feels like mushy crap. The only nice thing about it is the aesthetics.
It's a shame apple can't even into good design anymore.
The only gateron to avoid is greens.
what keyboard is that friendo
Take a look at the discussion and make an educated guess.
what about browns? I'd like to a have some tactile feedback.
>That terrible tab mod
I got a good deal on one of these
What am I in for
nice
even if you don't like it you can sell it for a good amount
bullshit
they're out of production
good deal my ass
they realized they could make more money so they did their own mechanicalkeyboards.com
>want tactile feedback
Then avoid browns.
Browns suck ass, they're barely tactile. If I had to describe browns, I'd say that they feel like reds with dirt stuck in the middle.
My first keyboard was with browns. They're nice enough switches, but they suck ass compared to any other switch.
thx for saving money.
what would you recommend then if I want some tactile feedback without the click clacks?
No wait. That's the steelseries POS I had prior to getting my first mech.
here we go
My pleasure.
Get an old AEK II if you want a nice keyboard, though you'll have to either make your own or shell out for an adapter. But at least they're solid keyboards.
clears
cherry clears, also one of my favorite switches.
Any good options (China, probably) for some mechanical keyboards around $30? I'd like to pick some up for friends for Christmas.
Tenkeyless preferred since that's what I can get for the money. Full would be great but that's gonna add cost.
>GTR - Clear - 35g Linear
How can it have a tactile bump if it's linear?
There's a Das 4 Pro for sale for $80 on my local craigslist. Is it worth picking up? It'd be my first mechanical and I really want this one for the numpad and media keys/volume knob, only catch is that it's the Mac version.
wtc nerv keys
Cherry clear =/= Gateron clear
Cherry clears, not gateron clears.
Hows the quality on this keyboard?
mechanicalkeyboards.com
ffffffuck where do you get that keycap
Aliexpress
My bad. So, what would be my option with cherry? (or kailh for that matter)
link, familia?
some chink website
ebay, aliexpress, just about anywhere
ebay.com
Probably the same as the pok3r: Decent.
Metal case and pbt caps, unfortunately spray painted and laser etched, so not really desirable. Going out on a limb, I'd assume that it's not fully programmable either.
Cherry clears.
Or cherry browns, but like I said, those suck ass.
Though you probably won't find a budget board with cherry clears.
>ebay, aliexpress, just about anywhere
>abs
sadfrog.tiff
It's the escape key, sure it gets used fairly often, but you're hardly going to use it enough for it to develop shine anytime soon.
You could also get one of these fuckers. I feel like I should pick up the angel for my HHKB, but then again, I'll be doing some extensive modding on that anyway, so I'm not sure about getting keycaps for it yet.
What are good keycaps for topre switches? I got a barebones version.
>bullshit
I still paid out the ass for it, just $140 instead of $300
geekkeys.com
aaaaand, the link
Novatouch uses mx caps
There's a zinc Nerv cap around
Wow, now that's what I'm talking about. Thank you!
I know it uses mx keycaps but what are best for Topres
abs, pbt, ultra thicc doubleshot?
Cheers.
Post some pictures once you got it.
one of the sources for this kind of confusion is that gateron once made a tactile clear switch that was similar to the zealios in the parent post
however, most of the time people refer to the 35g linear switch when they talk about gateron clears
Topre doesn't have much choice in caps
Also prepare to lube your novatouch, I had one for a week and it rattled like a mofo
Also the case gets greasy easily
Still better than cherry though
>chocolate on keyboard
fucking disgusting
...
it probably doesn't matter too much, as long as it's not shitty thin abs. just find something that you like
If reds are shit, how can gat clears be good?
Jesus. as if being a trip fag who uploads uncompressed images didn't make you an annoying cunt already. please kill yourself.
you get cap choice if you get a cherry stem
>lubing a keyboard
dude
what
>If reds are shit
they aren't, though gateron reds are still preferable to cherry reds.
(you)
>>lubing a keyboard
>dude
>what
OH BOY
not even that user. muted and reported
So gat clears are lighter gat reds?
You always lube before you stick it in

Prove it, post your dick.
Alright, but I'll need your help with that ;^}
anyone ever try greetech browns? i hear they are fantastic, even better than gateron browns
das keyboards use greetech
honestly cherry clones should be pretty much the same as cherry switches
