Lets talkabout Win 10 Telemetry and how to disable it

Most of you despite all the GNU Linux, install gentoo meme advices are probably running win10, and letting Microsoft spy on you.

Also anyone with Win 7 who still updates it is also riddles with telemetry.

Some of you may not care, but most of us here I think are pretty security conscious.

So ITT we talk about removing/blocking telemetry and share tips etc.

So to start: SpyBot Anti-beacon - it claims to remove telemetry, but is it really enough, does it get it all?

I think there's no way to disable it completely, as Microsoft themselves said it is embedded into the kernel.

Spybot helps? sure. Most of the other utilities do the same thing, so it's a matter of who you trust the most I guess...

you don't

All MS has do do is release some new patch to reenable all the spy shit. They don't even provide patch changelogs anymore so it will just be installed as part of some "cumulative update"

>Run unpatched and insecure
>Mandatory spyware
>Install loonix
pick one.

LTSB

neither LTSB nor N editions disable telemetry you tard

What's wrong with providing Microsoft some info about your PC? If we send them crash reports we help them to prevent further crashes.

Not him but LTSB has less crap by default compared to their other variants. One has to use tool to achieve this, but no tool will ever remove telementary completely.

how do you exclude Skype from the list of things blocked?

I used one of those executables, but now I can't use Skype.

Except they do, shit for brains.

I'm not sold on why privacy is so important in this context. Most people just reply with a vague answer that's never direct. They always just resort to bad analogies.

>but no tool will ever remove telementary completely.
its called a router with vacls to prevent them from ever reaching the internet

LTSB just doesnt get things like the anniversary update, N doesnt get things like media player. disabling telemetry has nothing to do with either and the technet article I linked tells you how to disable it.

Name one.

They can sell your information and maybe you look at weird porn, or have very unpopular political opinions. Not something you particularly want circulating with your name attached.

That's the best argument? Some paranoid stance?

>paranoid
Okay, maybe you don't browse weird enough stuff. I gave you a reason, doesn't mean it applies to you personally.

Is rather terrorists not feel safe browsing freely online.

true anti beacon dindu nuffin on mah pc, why my windows 10 still update itself?

How stupid must you be to be happy to give away your privacy?
Your whole life is so worthless?

No real argument? Just name calling? predictable...

People would only be afraid to give up their privacy if they were doing something illegal, and if you're that paranoid just tape up your webcam and mic.

This guy has a video about it:

You can't disable it unless you block everything at hardware level and then enable safe connections one by one.

How can you feel safe when the government is watching your every move? Or are you the kind of person who actually feels safe when they see a cop car.
