Operating system is literally called Windows

>operating system is literally called Windows
>is actually terrible at window management

>Every operating system with a ui has windows
>Windows is the worst one that uses windows

Really mages you thanks

Good point frogposter.

It's quite ironic, don't you think? Idk about windows 10, but managing multiple windows, especially of the same application on win 7 is really infuriating. It feels really clunky

I have no problem with "window management"

maybe OP is just a chucklefuck who can't even use a gui?

Windows users just buy multiple monitors to compensate for their terrible window manager.

Windows has great window management, especially since late 7 and 10 versions.

Windows has great $featureBeingCritisized, especially since late 7 and 10 versions.

>using a tiling wm
why?

Wallpaper is useless.

Who /comfy/ here?

You don't wanna play the comfy game with me, you will lose

>tfw replaced your rootfs WLS distro with centos
>tfw running the latest fast ring insider preview so i get all the sick new WLS features
>tfw running linux guis on windows RIGHT NOW
>tfw networking is likely going fully implemented by the end of next month
no point in even dual booting anymore desu

>muh tiling wm
Enjoy your rootkit

>dual booting
You still dualboot?
It's fucking 2016.

VM+Passthru, you...you... double neckbear

>wanting to lose performance

Wut? How is something like i3 a root kit?

Using a VM to run an OS is for testing or for illiterates who don't understand how to dual boot. The performance is utter shite on a VM.

It's not i3 (I'm my opinion i3 is a fucking awesome piece of software) is that X.org is literally a rootkit.
Almost all Tiling WM use X.org.

>performance
Fuck, are you running toasters?
VMs are in 95% efficiencies now.

Get something from not-2006 and learn to passthru your hardware and join 2016.

Don't most distributions have some form of X.org installed?

...

Why can't everything just have tileing wm's. They really are the most elegant solution.

Implying 95% is good enough. Please leave you fucking plebeian.

Yes. I use fedora with gnome on wayland anyways.

>X.org is literally a rootkit
Please explain

More like past 5 years man.
Most decent processors have hardware emulation support.
So unless you deliberately bought shitty i3s, you shouldn't have problems.

>I need 101% for my CoD of Duties 17.1 part 80

So do I actually, but fuck you.

>every windows attached process can literally see into other windows contents without isolation
>terminals are exposed to reveal root password when sudo is used, for example
>you don't need any privilegie escalation shit to do that

SHIEEET

three things:
>why use passthrough to have 95% if I can use boot and have 100% without issues?
>why arge like the John —le current year man— Oliver?
>why contradict yourself

You want to know another funny thing?
In paper, writting a keylogger for Windows is difficult as fuck because every window is isolated.
In practice, indian-tier code make that posible. X.org really is fucked, but at least is protected because almost all users of that shit are sane to install software only from trusted sources. But if one day that sources get compromised…

WTF I love Wayland now!

Holy fug :DDD Somebody needs to fix this.

Hopefully everything will move to wayland soon.

Why do you need GPU acceleration in your VM?
You aren't playing childish video games, are you?

>Tiling WM

Remind why the rest of the world doesn't find this an eloquent setup for desktop? Oh that's right because its fucking useless for doing anything productive. You need mouse, GUI and Office/Adobe software to survive in real life.

X is shit, firejail has some X11 sandboxing mitigations though through xpra.
>tiling wayland compositor when?

>tiling wayland compositor when?
Several exist already

>he doesn't run deep learning algorithms on his GPUs

I don't play silly childrens games.
I only play mature games, like Minecraft.

great post frogposter

Why not run them on the host?

>You need mouse, GUI and Office/Adobe software to survive in real life.
Are you trying to imply you can't have these in a tiling window manager?

>running Javacraft on Linux

That's just asking for nasty hackers to hack me on the 2b2ts. Popbob will rape me.

>Linux, its free
>people bought pre installed ubuntu laptops pay to install windows

Deep learning algorithms, not Minecraft, which is a child's toy, like all video games.

Makes you wonder how much Microsoft paid them to do that.

>Muh reel lyf
What a moron

Are you implying you cannot do this with regular window managers?

I wrote a hacky as fuck tiling manager in AHK for XP.
3 window groups, horizontal, vertical and side-window tiles.

Windows were anchored with alt-gr+[key]+\ (the keyboard layout with it next to lshift, not above enter, fuck that noise)
H-Windows with the Win keys, V-Windows with the Shift keys, then the lctrl for maximize and rctrl to anchor as a side window.
Side windows are assigned dimensions based on their needs. I did these manually since it is hard to guess their needs automatically.
Some windows I might want to be tall, while others I might want to be small.

I also had a separate older window manager for videos, web-browser videos/streams, image viewers.
Capslock+ 1 to - anchored them in this side window space as well, in a regular 4:3 layout. Rarely used this, only whenever watching streams or multiple videos of things at once for reference or whatever.
That's why I made the newer version.

Wut? My windows machines flawlessly handle multiple windows. Especially windows 10 has a Wm that is very close to perfect. Considering the abomination apple has to offer, even Windows 95 is a dream.
