i think Devuan is a good idea, but their progress is painfully slow, they finally made a beta of a Jessie clone, but Jessie will probably be replaced with Stretch by this winter or next spring, so running Devuan will put their users a little behind the curve of current Linux distros
Devuan needs to pick up the pace and catch up
