PRIVACY IS DEAD PICK A WHAT TIER ARE YOU Sup Forums?
Kek tier >whats encryption? >uses pin number "1234" >uses avast >password is "password" or "poop"' >same password for everything >has millions of accounts >"Who's snowden?" >"I have nothing to hide!" >"Can I see your manager?"
Normal tier >uses ubuntu/mint >uses password with letters and numbers >tech capable just doesn't want to go through the trouble >thinks snowden is important in a small way >"I think people should be able to encrypt even though I dont" Serious tier(last one before autism stages) >password has no words just a string of letters numbers and symbols >has a unique complex password for everything >uses mostly open source software for transparency >VPN >all devices are encrypted >occasionally uses bitcoin >learning pen testing to protect himself >thinks snowden is a hero >uses google only when absolutely neccesary or for work
Autist tier >libreboot thinkpad >runs gentoo >any site with nonfree javascript must be printed out by a third a party in yugoslavia >never leaves house >exclusively uses bitcoin >uses lisp >burns old hard drives with thermite >doesnt have a phone
Why tier
>no electronics >no name >lives in cabin with dog in the tundra >no records >never met a human
I guess I'm a mixture of normal and serious. I encrypt, use unique, generated passwords, etc. But I also use mainstream tech including a lot of Google stuff. Which is fine realistically. If you're paranoid, you can't possibly believe that anything is safe just because it's OSS.
Ethan Wright
>thinks snowden is a hero not >thinks Snowden is psyop shill You're the normie here, friend.

I wouldn't mind spreading this meme if it were actually true. I have loved and used ddg for years and even recommended it to a couple friends. It feels like it just got too popular for Sup Forums and they were mad about it.

Don't set up a ssh server without keys, that's about it really

>VPN >all devices are encrypted >occasionally uses bitcoin >learning pen testing to protect himself >thinks snowden is a hero >uses google only when absolutely neccesary or for work These are full autism already. Serious tier is using FOSS and a password manager to autogenerate passwords. Rest is pure autism

I'm slowly going up tiers but I honestly don't know what to do with online accounts that can't be deleted (and personal data can't be removed from them), and how to memorize dozens of different alphanumeric passwords.

"Disable" all of the online accounts you can. IIRC major companies like Facebook do clear things after X years of a disabled account. Even if they don't, barring a major hack only governments and the original company can access the data.
Get an offline password manager to remember all your passwords, keepass.info don't use an online service.
Adrian Garcia
i just use google chrome's built in thing

passphrase are better

>Get an offline password manager to remember all your passwords, keepass.info don't use an online service. Might as well go with the trusty pen and paper method. I don't store anything on my PC I'm not prepared to lose to a harddrive malfunction or theft.

If you're not kind of terrorist or something, why bother about shit? You're not even important person, you're just a NEET guy. No one gonna gives a shit about your existence. If you're afraid about privacy, be this pic related and kill everyone who knows you, so you become nothingness.

Being redpilled on politics is literally illegal in my country and people like me have to be really careful about what they do and say online. This is not even paranoia, people are in jail because they were reckless, and the secret service is constantly monitoring the internet for "extremists".
I used to be normie-tier "I have nothing to hide", but now I have to use encrypted messaging services and TOR for my "illegal" activities.

How can I be "senior sysadmin" according to this infographic if I majored in English?
Do people actually pay to learn this stuff?
Blake Moore
>uses pin number "1234" >pin number
Tyler Nelson
>Novice sysadmin >contribute to open source projects like Debian/Mozilla
>Intermediate sysadmin >Learn a scripting language
Josiah Young
Snowden was no hero. He was a traitor. Simple as that.
Adrian Reed
>How can I be "senior sysadmin" according to this infographic if I majored in English? You'll have the tremendous advantage of being able to read and write coherent English. However, this won't help you communicate with other admins.
Matthew Fisher
>Do people actually pay to learn this stuff? No? You pay to get little pieces of paper that let you past HR.

>get hired as a spy by a spy organisation whose only goal is to spy >be shocked that spies spy >steal millions of documents >release a few documents to the public, but keep most of them to myself >hide in Russia and give Putin blowjobs >Putin asks for said millions documents >he threatens to send me back to US where I will face death penalty >give the documents to KGB, because otherwise I'm useless to Putin since Seagal is much better at blowjobs >mfw I'm a hero
Nathaniel Torres
Nice speculation dude, the big surprise of course was the NSA spies on US citizens as well, which before most people who made that claim were said to be "tin-foilers". Thanks for overlooking that.
Other side of the story though. >hired by spy organization >shocked spies spy on US citizens with little oversight >few options given to be able to blow the whistle >Russia one of few options of escaping harsh penalties to exposing a hard truth, of course an "enemy nation" >speculation starts here
Jace Hall
1) There are procedures that he could have followed and avoided prosecution in US, but instead he decided to ignore all of them. 2) Why steal millions of documents and release only a small portion of them? 3) No one can deny the posibility that KGB (officially FSB) - one of the most ruthless spy organisations - could have threatened him to extradite to US unless he provided the stolen documents. After all, Snowden's Russian visa is not indefinite, it's valid for a few years only. 4) The 'little oversight' is a meme and it was proven countless times by people not wearing tin foil hats 5) Because of Snowden, US lost the trust of its allies/ 5) There's nothing wrong with spying as long as you don't get caught.
Samuel Davis

Normal tier. Use Veracrypt to create file containers. Keep anything super important to me inside them. Personal documents, passwords/usernames for all of my various accounts.
My browser is Firefox with AdBlock pro and HTTPSeverywhere.
I use Gmail, Android, and youtube though. Pretty much I limit how much of my info goes out to anywhere as much as possible.
