whats a good keyboard like the k70 but better

...

shine

k71

What does /mkg/ think of my keyboard?

no forward assist? no suppressor?

kill yourself

why did you get the worst corsair keyboard?

>buying a keyboard that wasn't made in America

Sup Forums please go

reddit please go

Its the only corsair I'd consider but overall not great for /mkg/
Thats the old shitty version. New one is full mech

I'm looking for something that'd be good for hours of consecutive typing. I'm kind of a sucker for retro shit so I was looking at the Unicomp Model M style stuff (specifically, pckeyboard.com/page/product/UNI0446).

Are those recommended at all, or would I be better off with a more modern mechanical keyboard?

Go for the Unicomp. Its one of the best keyboards you can buy

at least get an American or Japanese keyboard

...

Yes, we all saw your fleshlight, bro. We were just being courteous and not talking about it.

I don't see threads on the barrel tip, or is there a thread protector on it?

Is the filco model m the best keyboard for a poorfag who wants a decent keyboard for typing and occasional gaymen?

We have the best switches, don't we folks?

3 lug quick detach sound moderators are technology.

What are you doing with the gay men that you need a mechanical keyboard for it?

Ah, makes sense. Guess the handguard blocked the lugs from view.

>filco
i meant unicomp
just saying that because apparently that affects the kind of switchs people use

No that would be nintendo, but maybe someday Trump will help us catch up to the Japanese

Some of you guys are alright. Don't go to school tomorrow if you are in the northwest

Unicomp has 2kro so it depends on what games you play.

you wouldn't buy a gun with a mechanical trigger

>2kro?
I would be playing FPS games where strafing/jumping while moving forward would be important

We only have one switch, which happens to be the best switch

keyboardco.com/blog/index.php/2016/03/what-is-nkro-our-guide-to-rollover-anti-ghosting-and-choosing-the-right-keyboard/

Guns with Topre triggers when?

Ah, i originally read it as 2k key rollover
my bad

If they can sell full, multi-color 104 key pbt keycap sets on aliexpress for under $30, how aren't there more people out there making decent color schemes or custom sets for cheap?

I'm thinking of getting the cherry corsair strafe, is it any good?

See you there.

What is up with this Happy Hacking meme?

...

coolermaster.com/peripheral/keyboards/masterkeys-pro-s/
Been thinking of getting this keyboard are they any good by our standards

So it's just an expensive meme?

It's TKL form factor rather than 75%, so no.

Alright, about to order this Unicomp unless there's a good reason not to. Will exclusively be used for programming, so the 2KRO isn't an issue.

But its cute

Backspace being the same colour as the alphas rather than the modifiers annoys me more than I thought it would.

Best palce to get keycaps??

FORGE THEM LIKE A BLACKSMITH

Not Signature Plastics/Pimp My Keyboard.

Honestly, the only bad thing about them is how slow they are. The Chinese group buys are just as expensive.

>cherry corsair strafe

cherry what? What kind of switches?

thanks ill check them out

Their quality is not great. I bought a set of PBT keys from them and pretty much every 2u+ key was warped in some way, and the keys smaller than 2u were twisted. For the amount of money you pay, I kinda expect better quality than a garbage $30 set of Chinese caps.

amazon.com/Corsair-STRAFE-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00ZUPOMDQ

Do you know if you would like reds? I'd do the baby's first MK and get browns. They're good.

Nobody here will tell you to buy a keyboard that markets itself as 'gaming' though.

>Will exclusively be used for programming, so the 2KRO isn't an issue
What the actual fuck? What's your definition of programming?

never owned a gaming keyboard so I have no idea what those terms mean, care to link me the keyboard your talking about though?

Repostan

This will be used as a portable click clack.

Rubber domes and chiclets

I was thinking of either clears or fake chinese topre.

Read the OP, learn everything. Here's a chart of different Cherry switches.

Clears are better. Non backlit poker 3 W/ clears would be perfect for you

oops.

Also you can buy a switch tester to see which switch you might like the most

amazon.com/WASD-6-Key-Cherry-Switch-Tester/dp/B00AZQKCD4

You guys know if this Ibm Model M 82g3294 is actually mechanical? didn't find anything relevant on the web.

I can get it relatively cheap and seems in good condition aside from the battered cable, which I guess I can replace.

good night /mkg/

What caps are those >_

originativeco.com/products/modern-beige?variant=18906335301

Not particularly related, but since theres no mice generals:

Who is a good distributor/producer of custom-printed mousepads?

So far I've been browsing Alibaba, but wondering if theres anyone better or things I should look out for.

Planning on getting a WASD V2 as babby's first non-$20 keyboard.

I'm curious do the optional Sound Dampeners make a difference, both in terms of sound and durability(I have a bad habit of mashing keys)?

I totally don't regret having spent 220 bucks on rubber domes.

Nope, no buyers remorse here at all. It was totally worth it.

I so regretted spending 220 on rubberdome that now I am about to spend 50 more on keycaps and possibly 80 more on silencing rings :^)

is this shit? got is very cheap, knockoff blue switches don't really care

V60 with matias quiet click

Its a mechanical keyboard for 30 bucks. It doesnt have that many features, but it works just fine and has much better build quality then one would expect

I bought the galaxy night blank Pbt keycaps. Did I do wrong?

Not if you're 12 years old

It speaks to the kid in me who loves astronomy so your assumptions are correct.

not him but then I think you did right user.

...

why didn't you just buy a type s in the first place

Hypersphere are superior to type-s

Also I am not sure yet, I think it kills the sound too much
>Inb4 muh upstroke

>Hypersphere are superior to type-s
say that to my face not online

>sound
yes, it quiets the bottoming out sound, the "clack"
>durability
no, they're just rubber bands installed on the keycaps

Anyone field test the Cherry MX Silent switches yet? Been looking for alternatives to my membrane for conference calls. I have a high end condenser that normally picks up my cherry reds unless I keep it close to my face.

Almost 400 orders on Massdrop, good work guys.

If you want cherry silent switches why are you getting a corsair?

someone has a cat i can see

Get it, i love mine. Only thing that annoy me is there is no badge...

This model uses them

>tfw my $2 btc dome with slider keyboard is superior to these $300 "happy hacking~ xD" weebkeebs.
feelsgoodman.

But there are other better made keyboards like Filco and Leopold that also have silent switches

My Unicomp's keys stopped functioning after 2 years. I kept that fucking thing pristine. They have zero quality standards, and their keys don't feel like or sound like a real IBM model M. They may be using buckling spring, but they take a lot less actuation force to press down than the original model M. You can get one if you want, but you should be aware of these facts before hand.

Let me guess you got the shitty space saver instead of the classic

why would anyone ever spend more than ten bucks on rubber domes

RUBBER DOMES(!)

Nope, got the classic.

dude no wonder it isnt working you need to assemble it hahah fucking nooob

they use plastic or metal rivets?

Unicomp keyboards come pre-assembled. I took it apart to try to fix it a while back, never got around it it; the task seemed too daunting.

plastic

God i hate mechanical keyboards
currently using a steelseries with cherry mx red
are those switches even good?
because it feels like ass aids and my ears ring if you type at a reasonable rate

Pic related is unironicly the most comfortable keyboard with super comfy chiclet keys.

Fuck you and your dumb mechanical shit

kbparadise v60

You know there are other mechanical switches

Maybe try something other than a light linear switch then?

Linear switches are shit, try tactile
