bump for actual information ~!! lol tho
I'd recommend a lightweight Ubuntu flavor like Xubuntu. Then install Kodi. For actually installing an OS, I've had the best luck with YUMI. pendrivelinux.com

why the fuck do you need a server to emulate n64 games?
kys for posting shit that's nothing to do with OP's question.
First you're going to look up which has better emulator support, windows 7 or ubuntu
Anything else is not possible for you because you're obviously dumb
Next, how many displays do you need to broadcast to? Do you want multiple people playing different games at the same time?
To be honest your post was dumb.
Try buying a chromecast?

Download Ubuntu if you want a GUI and Ubuntu server if you don't need one, then google whatever you want to do and add Ubuntu to every query.
That's how I learned to do server management.
> windows 7 pc
It's called WC

*sigh* why the fuck am I writing this at 8:00 on a fucking Tuesday? Anyway, OK OP.
I do this at my house. My gaming PC sits right next to my debian server on a similar duty, to stream shit to my livingroom. How did I do it? Here's how.
!!!! MAKE SURE ALL HOSTS AND CLIENTS ARE HARD-WIRED. FUCK WIFI FOR THIS.
1. Install Windows 8.1 pro on the host machine. Legit or Pirated? Who gives a flying fuck. Whatever gets the job done.
2. Get either a software or hardware dummy plug for your videocard. These are HDMI plugs that mimic an existing monitor. Without this, your videocard won't bind to a screen and your PC will default to onboard graphics.
3. Go through Windows and set your mouse to be controlled by number keys so you don't have to have a mouse plugged in. Keyboard doesn't matter.
4. Install Steam on every machine. Every host, and every client. Phones and android tablets have to use moonlight so if you're not an nvidia fag, there's the time for remorse.
5. Use a VNC program to view your Windows PC accross your network so you can manage it without a monitor on other computers at home. Install any games you want to play and add any non-steam programs that you want to stream to your client devices. This can be anything from photoshop to Dophin to PCSX2 to Origin Games, even. If it can be added, it can be streamed.
