Torrenting is dying

Torrenting is dying.

What is going to be its replacement?

Torrents are p2p, genius.

that's what they said 10 years ago.

Torrent is P2P evolved, we need the next evolution stage

IoT botnets

Like pokemon go, but for filesharing
Libraries could become popular again

as soon as the the next version stabilizes and is released, a few of us are planning to push everything on nyaa (constantly updated, going back 12 or so weeks), as well as TBs of lossless music, loli pics, etc
this is the necessary future of the free internet and we're going to hopefully help more of you to realize that

Torrenting is for fucking retards. Just download shit you want from mega, uploaded, etc etc. You get 2MB/S download speeds and no fucking tracking and no need for a VPN and other shit.

uh where is your database for this uhh

This. I wish things like Google Home and Alexa weren't made by such megacorps, and instead were made by a bunch of nerds. Then you could encourage people to become a part of decentralized systems without people having to think too much. There's so much unused hard drive space out there that could be contributing to something bigger...

>You get 2MB/S download speeds
LMAOing@ur lyf

>uh where is your database for this uhh
tons upon tons of places provide download links. There are even search engines for that shit. if you want the latest movie or the latest TV show, you can download it in a minute. Not so with torrents and with torrents you have to use a VPN unless you want to suffer from legal jewmoney trolls.

Unless I need to download something super-rare or super-old and I can't find a link, I torrent. But for 99% of shit I want I can download from links.

It is not. Idiot.

Which is a decent search engine you recommend?

tv-release.net/ for TV shit. generalfil.es for rest (ps: chrome might give you a warning for the second one because it indexes everything including "bad shit" that jewgle doesn't want you to get.. just ignore it.)

there's some other movie ones like mkvcage.com etc.

Usenet.

Mega is shit now ever since they put the 5gb limit on

What limit

Limit of data, what is more you must install some kind of botnet browser extension to download bigger files.

They put a new bandwidth limit in recently. Once you hit the limit you have to wait 5 hours to download again

couldnt care less. there's half a dozen of fast hosters plus I never even dowload over 5GB per day. I don't have the time to consume all that shit anyway.

I watch anime most of the time now because I find TV and most movies so fucking boring and a waste of time. I can't even stomach watching the garbage that;s coming out of Hollywood. even all that superhero shit has jumped the shark.

Huh? I haven't had any problems so far. I download and upload mega files from command line.

Are you downloading like shitty mini encodes or something? Even a tv series at 720p in ok quality will be at least 5+gb

>5+gb
per day? no, I download 1080p shit even though I have a 4K screen. but even the shit I download per day is nowhere neat 5GB.

>Let's host all our pirate shit on a website you have to pay to get rid of waits/catchas/throttling and that can change ToS or be taken down with no notice and litter the internet with dead links

Can't you just host this stuff all on google and then just edit the files so that bots can't find them

Who cares? For every dead site like Rapidshit, 10 others rise. If you use Russian search engines, you can find any FLAC music, for example, within a minute of browsing. Why risk using fucking torrents and waiting days, when you download from public shit, when you can grab it from links?!?!?

You use this? I will try.

>A few of us
Project seems interesting, could you share more information?

2 megabytes per second, not megabits. And that's decent enough for downloading your porn clips and the occasional video game.

I like tehparadox, but I think it's closed right now.

Private file host forums are kind of like private torrent trackers. Hard to get into.

shhh

>russian search engine

Link?

yandex.com. better than google by a wide margin. no fucking DMCAs there and they index everything. their image search is GOAT too. that's why 4chanX has it linked beside images for image search... that's how I discovered it in the first place.

Thanks mate.

I'm behind the curve.

besides torrenting, IPFS

Why isn't there any decent, anonymous P2P alternative yet? Why are we still using a protocol designed in 2001, that relies on centralized trackers and direct IP connections, when projects like Tor show them to be unneeded?

Have (((they))) been stopping it from happening?

Just did a test search for a torrent compared to Google deindexes the good torrent/download sites, wheras yandex shows the best ones. Seems to be comparable to Google a few years ago before they started doing that shit.

Thanks mate.

protip: say you're looking for some album, for example, do a search for "artist album RAR" and it will find you a download link. hell, 99% albums are hosted on vk.com (their version of facebook) and you don't even need to wait or fill a captcha to download.

Newsgroups

I know what MB means, I just haven't seen any torrent go under 8MB/s on my connection.

torrenting

Paying for the products you use.

Crazy, I know.

>2 megabytes per second, not megabits

So 1/60th my connection speed I can get on a well seeded torrent.

No thanks.

>properly dead torrents are very rare -- even dead torrents get a seed or two at some point in the day
>dead links are very common
something with better resilience than torrents, OP

until then, torrents are going nowhere

>super-rare or super-old
Anything not blatantly obvious and popular

secret irc club

>Cant stomach garbage. Watches anime.

Hahahahahaha you're literally dumb as shit

replace it with whatever you want, just stay away from my xdcc

0/10

You said the same thing about xdcc, I still using it.

>Torrenting is dying.
lolno they're not.

>What is going to be its replacement?
Should they become 100% illegal and the government hunt down every single one of the hundreds of millions of people torrenting then we will all simply move to freenet.
