Nobody uses this

Nobody uses this.

I use it only when I want to search for a song i hear since its like Shazam without the ads.

All those assistants seem to be gimmicky bullshit that may be truly useful for disabled people but for others its a flick to shave shekels off normies and dudebros

>tfw got a Moto X when it first came out
>psyched to try out the voice commands
>be with friends
>say ok google now to try it
>they start laughing
>okay whatever
>later that day
>sitting down in a bench in the park
>using it over and over
>ok google now ok google now ok google now
>look up
>see some kids looking at me and some soccer moms too
>some girls are laughing at the bench in front of me
>feel autistic as fuck
>never use voice commands again
10/10 phone but fuck voice commands they're autistic as fuck

Its great for people who lost their sight, anything else is meme

I use it a lot actually. Sometimes I'm driving and want to know the closing hours of a place to eat after work

its just you, you and your 2000x2000 pepe pic.

That's nice, retard.

suck my fucking dick you fucking retard

you could just do that before driver

I use it for texting in mandarin, it's unbelievable and easier than typing stupid characters and switching between English and Chinese keyboards

Pretty much sums up how I imagine using it

I just fucking used it to set a reminder and it works perfectly

I also use it to play music in the car

They could improve it massively by just allowing you to hold the home button to activate the assistant, Ok Google is something I never want to say, even alone.

I just have the assistant as an app to be able to quickly get to it. It also has a nice button in google maps for while you drive.

it's fun to use sometimes.

OK google play songs by the beatles
opens in youtube and plays through bt speaker

i use it, "okay google, set an alarm for one hour from now"

I do. Shit, dog I'm using it to type out the sentence. You dumb mother fucker

Pixel owner here. Use it every day combined with IFTTT to change the temp in my house. Fucking future man.

(OP)

"OK Google" detection sucks balls and I shut that shit off immediately.

However, other than that, I use Google's voice to text thing almost every day because I'm consistently surprised at how often it correctly autocorrects itself based on context. It's a lot faster than typing for google searches and dictation, and it's also sometimes faster than...say...setting an alarm yourself in the clock app. It's nowhere near perfect - like I said earlier, OK Google detection is balls so I usually just activate it by touching the mic on the home screen or from a google keyboard. Also, google's thing where it allows you to fix mistakes manually gets in the way of times when I just want to type out to fix one or two words instead of the whole sentence, but it works often enough for me to try it as a first resort in a long text or something.

I also happen to have an iPad with Siri in it and Windows 10 Botnet Edition with Cortana and neither one of those is a quarter as good. Siri seems to try and articulate as quickly as you can speak, which means as far as I can tell it doesn't use context to correct mistakes made earlier in the sentence, which makes it 100% useless to me. I don't give enough of a shit about Cortana to try and articulate why it feels inferior, but it sucks too.

You said this knowing that pressing the home button was already a way to activate the Assistant.

>They could improve it massively by just allowing you to hold the home button to activate the assistant
yo that shits crazy i think someone at google actually just got a hold of those nasty trips and rolled out a new update since u posted this bcuz i just tried holding down the home button and it works to activate it

No it's not

You still have to say OK GOGOGOGEL

t. Google Pixel users

What android version are you on that doesn't have this feature? I'm on fucking 4.4.4 on an old chinkphone. ZTE ZMax. Works great

Go ahead and do that

See that you have to press a button again to get the assistant to listen OR say "Ok Google" which defeats the entire purpose

Ah yeah you're right they should add an option to long press it after it opens that up. OK google or press the mic button works fine for me though I don't really care

What a useless retard. Kys

You did not understand what I was trying to say at all

What if he had the idea while driving fucktard?

pro tip: it's not what you were doing but who you are that made them laugh

I unironically used this to identify a song that was playing on the radio with unintelligible lyrics.

its sort of a gimmick, but i use it when driving to get phone numbers/directions.

>hands free feature
>they could improve it by letting you hold a button to start it

Ignoring the fact that you can already do this, why do you even want this?

Yes it is, I just did it. If you don't have a pixel you can hold and swipe up to activate it.

>Hi-res pepe

Nicee

What the fuck are you talking about

Nothing of the like on my HTC 10 and it has android Nblack people installed

I do for movies and finding out stuff about foreign countries I'm interested in like GDP and shit. It's pretty nice and honestly surprises me sometimes.

I use google's music identifier occasionally.

I'd imagine voice recognition with such a complex set of sounds would be shit

i do, its actually amazing how well it does voice recognition

What are Deep Neural Networks trained for 3 weeks on multiple nVidia GPUs?

m8 i think google has better shit than neural nets
would fucking love to know their algs

I used to use that too but Shazam is just more accurate.

but.. its such a shit app

i use it but i don't use the ok google i just press the button when i want to use it

I don't like it because I assume it needs Google Services (I don't install the playstore), and I also assume that it sends your voice commands to Google, it's kinda creepy that it constantly listens to your audio as well.

Am I autistic or am I justified in being worried about this kind of technology?

I would honestly have no problem if it was privacy minded, and the voice processing remained local

Privacy doesn't exist anymore, nor is there a point to it. If you really care about privacy that much tape your webcam and phone camera like Zuckerberg does lol

>tfw no thought controlled AI assistant
BCI WHEN

I do, even my front/rear cameras have a sticker on them.

I use it all the time when im driving and want to play music when driving
or setting reminders it's really convenient
outside of that it's pretty useless
well I use hey siri instead of ok google since I have an iphone, but it's really the same shit
generally only chink phones have features like that
every other phone (without a home button) you have to swipe up from the virtual buttons

watch out dude they are tapping your phone line and x-raying your mail, the fbi are extremely mad that they can watch you masturbating to furry porn

Nope. Everybody uses deep neural nets for speech, image and text. There is nothing better currently.

I use it when driving and controlling the lights in my house

...

>be bored
>accidentally click google now
>say "tell a joke"
>takes me to search results with "how to tell a joke" by wikihow
Why is ai so dumb?

is Siri any good?

I use it all the time when driving.

You are a nigger

Cortana and Siri tell jokes

>implying Sup Forums leaves their mom's basements

They were laughing because you're retarded. It's "Ok Google," not "Ok Google Now."

Siri doesn't tell jokes anymore, at least not on MacOS. She's kind of a cunt, actually.

Cortana is the most personable.
