Norwegian here, it has nothing to do with conscience. The cars are dirt cheap because there's almost no tax on them. Almost all our electricity is from hydroelectric so that's almost free, especially with the spectacularly rainy summer we've had. It's said that a Tesla will pay for itself within five years vs a normal ICE car here.
