hi!! does u use freebsd?

in other news: libressl logo still in comci sans OMGLOL XDDDDDD

undeadly has no news just retweeting docs updates :P

hacker news, reddit, and Sup Forums still regurgitating 2010 troll post ;^D

its gud server OS lmao cause there is diffrence ! u prolly wouldnt kno

i run openbsd its my GNU/linux sidstro of choice. mad servers LOL XD

bpspd/dlinux v winsucc?
who win?[DD

4got pix rofl

This is what hell is like. Good to know.

is always bsd lol. u go open and essentially become invincible on the network, or at least as locked down a base as unix can be in late 2016.

starting with nothing but a tight shell, default nothing-but-sshd running, all-the-network-utilities-needed setup forces you to consider software choices a bit more.

plus it helps that package dependencies/management is totally minimal and something linux users have to see for themselves

you dont like a superior os?
huehue ur pribs some supd linuxcujck or winsucc nigGDD

freebsd for workstation and openbsd for firewall L((

lol zing XDDD

it sux that no openbasd development in on the forums but its cool that no forus are on it

u got mailing lists with mad diffs at 72 column C

if 1 security-oriented C programmer visits man.openbsd.org per 5 threads it's a duty well done XD

Whats up

where can i learn how your shitty package manager and shitty shell language work so i can escape gnu's tyranny

Just install it already, most of it is like GNU/Linux, just remember
>ee filename
to edit text files
># pkg install package_name
for packages
also www.freebsd.org cover the most important issues

and i have to use su every time i want to install something, right?
can i install sudo?

start with ghostBSD if you're a noobie desu

>can u handle
Nice attitude, it's not like I use my OS to be productive.

freebsd.org/doc/handbook/
I am in love with this handbook and wish every piece of software had documentation this helpful.

BSD is srs bsns pls no shitposting

Right you can use su with root password or install sudo:
cyberciti.biz/faq/freebsd-install-sudo-command/

You can install and use sudo or OpenBSDs doas, I like the config for doas personally and use it on my personal FreeBSD machines but you should use whatever works for you.
man.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi/OpenBSD-current/man1/doas.1
man.openbsd.org/doas.conf.5

Is there any reason to use FreeBSD over openBSD?

There is heaps of cool shit like this already installed which I've never heard about how can I find which commands I want

nah

For FreeBSD read the handbook passages for whatever task you're trying to do and see if they mention a program that's already in base, otherwise they'll point to a nice port.

For other systems you can always ls /usr/sbin and /usr/bin and read the manual pages for whatever you're not used to.

WHat to heck is a port

freebsd.org/doc/handbook/ports-using.html

Anything specifically for openbsd?

Maybe this, I'm not sure.
