At this point, they're the same thing. Just look at the Pixel.

As an iPhone user since the 5S I'd rather die than have to use a lagroid every day.

>Implying Android is a unique label just as apple
>Implying that the kikes over at Jewgle didnt try to get the Iphone Audience

I'd rather you die then see an icuck pollute the android ecosystem

Let's run down the list

Android phones let you:
>download over 100MB over mobile data
>install a third party app launcher and icons
>use it as a flash drive
>share any kind of file over wifi/bluetooth
>torrent via torrent clients in the playstore
>install apps outside the playstore
>modify a few system settings to increase performance and decrease battery drain
>manually controll complex camera functions via third party apps
>natively browse files
>view better colors via amoled displays
>browse Sup Forums and natively open webms inside them via third party apps
>extract/browse archives
>add additional phone storage via a micro SD card
>replace the stock battery with a bigger one
>add widgets to your home screen
>access important functions by swiping down

You can spout all the "lagdroid XDddd---" memes you want but Android phones truly are more advanced than itoddler phones and the reason why they hold over 90% of the global smartphone market now.

Forgot to add all of these are things you can do WITHOUT rooting your Android phone.

and you can install debian

Microsd is so lovely. Last phone had 16GB with no SD card, spent half my time deleting crap or clearing app data. Got a droid turbo 2, and now I've got 32GB and another 32GB with this SD card. Most of it filled up with the garbage bloatware Verizon stuffs onto every phone and can't uninstall, like NFL Mobile, Kindle, Audible, and Korean, Japanese, Pinyin, and Indic language support for the Google keyboard.

>Verizon
That was your first mistake

>But user, spending extra 130 dollars for the 64gb version of the goIphone is so worth it because it is better quality memory
>Then why the fuck cant they put a SD card slot too?
>You think you know everything about technology user but i know my phone, you dont even have a goiphone.

thanks for reading my blog

Root the Motherfucker

Really I hadn't noticed after ranting about them for half my post thanks for pointing that out you are very helpful pat yourself on the back.

No root available for the droid turbo 2, not likely to ever happen either. Its non-verizon counterpart has root but it's not compatible with the dt2 and I doubt just the dt2 on its own can draw enough attention.

They're just conceding the point to get your autistic asses to shut up about it

They don't give two shits and all the elitism does is either drive them further into their denial or turn them off of the subject entirely.

and declining iOS marketshare don't agree with you

Kek, "almost half" literally means less than half, most iPhone users think iPhones are superior. No one cares lol

Holy shit Windows isn't even at 1% anymore.

Microsoft needs to go BIG with the surface phone and rebrand it as a fresh start to the platform or they're finished.

>spouting dead memes
m8, this isn't 2007 anymore.

>tfw the s7 active will NEVER be rooted

Tell my about VR on !Phone

I don't know where else to ask this but are Posh phones good? They seem super powerful and all.

>iphone is basically the same since almost 10 years
>only minor interface improvement, mainly cosmetic
>no customization (like in "i want that piece of information right there", not just ricing)
>caters to people who feel the need to own a status symbol, not a tool to make everyday tasks easier
>overpriced

It needs the latest apps, rather than that. They can put out a mindblowing specced phone, still noone will buy it bc no trendy apps.

Flash custom ROM and pray to GNU you won't brick your phone

>VR
Who even uses VR? It's still 5-10 years away from the average person using it on a regular basis

If you get a phone with good community support, you don't have to worry about bricking anything.

It is true. As an Android user who recently got his first iPhone, I'm getting surprised every other day by the things latest iOS can't do.
Like:
-downloading and emailing a pdf using a third-party mail app;
-opening links in whichever app/browser you want (this is actually one of the most infuriating things, sometimes it takes up to 5 redirects from app to browser to app to browser to app, this is just ridiculous);
-customize the control center;
-block ads for good;
Basically everything already listed.

Though iPhone's most basic functionality feels much more polished and it feels so great.
-Phone, Messages, Photos and other stock apps are really good. iMessage is fantastic. The Camera app is arguably the fastest and most straightforward.
-consistency throughout and through;
-local backup via Photos and iTunes;
-no perceivable lag. Even the latest Android phones drop frames here and there/make you stare at splash screens/etc.

TLDR: iPhones are exceptional at things they do, but there's just too much stuff they simply can't and you gotta deal with it.

This is true but you forget to point out that all normies care about is if the phone is simple to use and looks good

>no perceivable lag. Even the latest Android phones drop frames here and there/make you stare at splash screens/etc
iPhone generally performs better because there's only "one" iPhone so they can do a lot more optimization compared to Android phones which have different manufacturers and hardware. I also think iOS is lighter on RAM usage since some people do just fine with 1 GB of RAM while my Android phone uses 700-800 MB just for the operating system itself so having only 1 GB of RAM would make it very difficult to use.

You're probably right. A recent experience: I was playing Oceanhorn, someone called, I picked up, then switched to Safari, opened a few tabs, and used a few apps shortly after that. An hour later I remembered I was playing, switched back to it and it was still running. That's 5s with 1 gig of RAM.

I have an ipod 5th gen and I'm looking to switch to something that can keep a bunch of apps running without refreshing what would be a good choice?

I am an android user and i accept iOS is a pretty okay operating system for normal people who just want to browse facebook or check their email or use instant messaging.
But i have to also accept iOS is terrible for most of people on Sup Forums, people who like to tinker and hack with their devices (and browser a technology board of all places). iPhones look good in the hand of normal people but terrible in the hands of tinkerers and people who like to experiment

Android is so advanced, that it took Google 2 years longer than Apple to ship file based encryption, and it doesn't even work. I'm sure there will be an update soon enough.

iOS apps are generally much more memory efficient that Android apps, Java + GC vs Obj-C + ARC. Different tradeoffs.

Its open source, that essentially takes away all bitching rights, because it can be altered to satisfy all needs.
Want an android phone that focuses on security, there's blackphone or you could create your own rom, its open source.
Want an android phone that has a very small footprint? There's slimrom, or you could make your own
Want an android phone that has MLP themed everything because you just love that? Create your own rom, simple

You dont have a choice in iOS, you, the user cannot alter the system to match your requirements. Now if you ask me, thats the real shame

Oh Christ. You think that shipping a broken product is excusable because lol Open Sauce? You're a moron.

>You think that shipping a broken product is excusable because lol Open Sauce?
Nothing being shipped is broken faggot
Im just saying you have a choice to modify everything when you're using android

I'm pretty sure that iOS freezes applications memory and shuffles them out to storage whenever possible in order to get by with the 1GB (or 2GB) of RAM.

I just don't see it being able to keep all of it in RAM constantly. It certainly has better memory management than Android but Apple haven't shown any signs of amazingly low memory usage on OSX, so there's no reason to believe they have managed it on iOS.

You're implying that it's a more ADVANCED technology, though

>Nothing being shipped is broken faggot
Appart from Android N's file based encryption that doesn't remove keys from memory after they have been used, which leaves the system more vulnerable to attacks while claiming to be more secure. Seems broken to me.

They are more advanced in the sense that there is a shitload of software and software development for Android due to its freedumbs and the root community.
So there's always new functionality and software being developed on it that utilizes access which would otherwise be locked down for security reasons.
In that sense, Android is way more advanced.

It's not a broken product, it's an open product.
That means you have to work a little to get the way more advanced functionality than Apple has to offer.
Apple products are for lazyfaggots. They are not advanced, but they are there and they are secure enough.
If you are a lazyfaggot, then keep using Apple, nobody will slight you for it.
But don't call something broken because you don't know shit about the why and what in regards to it.

>Appart from Android N's file based encryption that doesn't remove keys from memory
Literally nothing faggot, you really think someone is going to rip apart my phone to access my phone's fucking RAM just to extract the encryption keys?
The google guys probably left it that way because they knew anyone carrying that sensitive of information would fix it himself

>If you are a lazyfaggot, keep using Apple, nobody will slight you for it
>androiduser.bmp

>what are pagefiles and memory swap

>almost monthly iterations across all price brackets
>innovate to get cheaper

iPhone has a niche and it's not really feasible to do certain things within those constraints.

Put it simply, when the keys are left in memory malicious software can easily extract them. Malicious software is an area where Android truly excels over iOS.

This is become iPhone users are retarded and buy for the brand rather than what's inside.

Ios isn't a giant ad and government spying machine so it wins.

This is because Android users think they're special and need to have the equivalent to a 10 year old desktop PC running Linux in their pocket.

Please elaborate on what exactly is "optimized"
This is constantly said about Apple devices, and people never elaborate.
Is it hardware? Obviously not because Applel fucking contracts Samshit to make the processors.
The reality is the hardware is the same Chinese shit either way.
So how exactly is the OS "optimizing"?

My friend thought that iPhones were the only ones to have capacitive touchscreens cand that all Android phones need styli because the Note series was a thing.

/thread

If Android is Linux, why can't any Linux distro run Android apps and vice versa?

Checkmate, Cuckdroids.

My fiancé for whatever reason thinks you need to be incredibly tech savvy in order to use an android phone. I have no idea why people are under that impression they're literally both idiot proof with different operating systems.

just the fact that you can rip all the required compatibility stuff right out of the code and thus skip some checks should come into account here, and then there's a multitude of interfaces to prepare for in an Android app while you can have the specs for all iPhones probably on one Post-It Note.

It just doesn't have to be as complex, which also makes it limiting in a sense.

Simply making it accessible by phone will add to people interested in it, which will then lead to people developing for it. The more apps, the more desire to buy the tech, the more desire to make the tech more accessible in all markets etc. etc. etc.

As long as it exists and adds new functionality, it'll be a selling point to _someone_.

It's unrootable currently.

It's more true than it ever was today.

iPhones let you:
>get pussy

the Android OS is more customizable, especially when a file system/browser is of concern. on the other hand, Apple's hardware is usually at least a year or two ahead of anything from the Android camp. Shame the power can't be put to much use with the limiting software.

It also means "more than half", idiot

Delete this dumb frogposter.

>boipussy

Fixed.

wtf I love Apple now !?

you don't need a third party app in order to watch the webm on Sup Forums.

You can do it directly from the browser.

Let. But won't.

Of all the things you listed, there's only one of them I want to do, and that's webm on the very rare occasions I use my phone for porn

Choose the right tool for the job

IPhone's UI elements are inactive until the transition animation stops. This completely spoils the experience for me.

and stay there

And what job is iphone a right tool for?

That's why iOS is so "smooth". It literally stops everything else when there's an animation to render.
Fucking toy of a OS. The "iToddler" meme actually makes a lot of sense.

Attracting fuccbois.

Posting to Instagram ™ from Starbucks ™

Isn't it illegal to be a faggot while wearing official army uniform?
Like slandering the name of the country or something?

>download over 100MB over mobile data
This is only for app store apps, not really a problem
>install a third party app launcher and icons
Ricing is for virgins
>use it as a flash drive
Internet existis buddy
>share any kind of file over wifi/bluetooth
Internet exists buddy
>torrent via torrent clients in the playstore
What exactly do you need torrents on a phone?
>install apps outside the playstore
To install virginware?
>modify a few system settings to increase performance and decrease battery drain
Because androids need a 5000mah battery to compete with a 7+
>manually controll complex camera functions via third party apps
Still worse than the 7+ camera
>natively browse files
But why
>view better colors via amoled displays
Enjoy your burn ins
>browse Sup Forums and natively open webms inside them via third party apps
Only losers use Sup Forums on a phone
>extract/browse archives
You can do that retard
>add additional phone storage via a micro SD card
Too poor to buy the 256gb version?
>replace the stock battery with a bigger one
What
>add widgets to your home screen
iOS widgets are way better
>access important functions by swiping down
Like what?

All irrelevant shitty excuses poorfags make to justify their inability to afford a decent phone. Android literally lags, iPhones are faster and smoother. iPhones get multiple years of software updates and they have much better apps not to mention a consistent UX that makes android feels like dog-shit.

Bad meme.
techtimes.com/articles/19926/20141111/singles-day-china-nightmare-girlfriend-says-no-to-chinese-mans-proposal-with-99-iphones.htm

Nah americucks made it legal. They probably get their ass kicked 24/7 by their superiors and end up quitting though, unless they work in some tech logistics area like Bradley Manning who also got hazed by his nerd peers anyways.

>t. iToddler

>That's why iOS is so "smooth". It literally stops everything else when there's an animation to render.

In addition to using screenshots of the UI during animations to make you think an app's already loaded when it's not.

iTODDLERS

KUCKED

AGAIN

ayy

Gay people are known to be promiscuous.

>iToddlers are aids infested buttpirates

Not surprising.

Delete this applekek.

>Rich people are gay

lel

Okay, poorfags

>people have at least 8 partners by 40
Literally how is this allowed?

...

>being a town's bicycle means you're rich

Not illegal, but PDA in uniform is not allowed per AR 670-1. The only PDA you are allowed in uniform is to offer your arm to someone.

>i'm SO rich i think my $30/mo payment plan iToy makes me not poor
>t. poorfag

So much cognitive dissonance and denial in one post. That was kind of a painful cringey read. You're trying so hard to justify iPhone's shortcomings by moving the goalposts back to the starting line, or 'heh only losers would browse here with a phone'

I can do just about anything a $600 iPhone does with my $100 Motorola G4 Play, albeit worse camera. But that's it. I can browse more efficiently, multitask, and have a battery that lasts much longer, and am not afraid of getting scratches or marks since it's so damn relatively cheap.

Also SD storage

Get cucked iToddlers

Apple pretty much invented modern smartphones
you guys should show some respect

>t. iToddler

Well yeah, android allows you to do more, especially when you root it, while iphone is build for stability and for its solid os.

Sure, my usage can be the same in the end, but If I can afford the best, why wouldn't I?

Your android literally lags

IPhones are much faster and smoother.

iPhone apps also look good and consistent with the UI, it provides a much better user xperience. And that is what I want for something I use everyday.

iPhones also get software updates for multiple years. You android will be depreciated in 1 year.

>iphone
>no 3g
>you're holding it wrong
>antennagate
>bendgate
>touch disease
>build

Good joke.

>malwaredroids
AYYY

>t. iToddler

Maybe if your some fag that can't even Google his way through a tutorial.

Pic relate, my S5 on Nougat. The S5 will never see this from OEMs.
