Son, welcome to botnet!
>Was reading an article about how the NSA remotely controls our computers when my computer randomly shuts off
A friend had this around 2006. He downloaded music via Limewire
it would happen when I went out too, made me paranoid that my family was snooping around my computer
>put macbook to sleep
>forget about it
>next morning, system update has installed itself
spoopy
>power fluctuations causing power-on function to turn it on
>wake-on-lan from outside
>or inside your network
>power-on-hour function in BIOS
if not fully shut down, maybe windows has some tasks scheduled, like hdd defrag or some shit like that?
is this a jojo reference?
sleep doesn't mean turned off
Link?
>turn PC on
>if I leave room and return, pc will be turned off again
>if I stay in the room it boots up fine
Noticed this a few times now.

my switch says its off, so its off.
if you got an intel/amd/qualcom/apple/android/microsoft/nitendo/sony device you were fucked the moment you spent money on it, its all backdoored and hacks your other devices
put your carkeys/phone/rfidchiped cards in the microwave, turn off your wifi, cancel your phone and internet services, get an old car and live a few months offline.
if you are a person of interest somebody will try to keep you online at all costs so they can watch you, otherwise you may be fine for now

Truly my greatest fear.

you know it was developed by DARPA, right?
this actually happened two times to me, spooked to death

Could be sign of a bad PSU. I've dealt with this shit before

no replies to the actual solution?
/x/ shits are some of the biggest losers, they just post the same 5 red eye images and post "spoopy"

For fuck's sake, just get it done.
>external hhd LED blinks even when the pc is off
This happens a lot with my W10 laptop, I shitpost a bit, lock it and then put it in sleep mode but when I come back it's fully unlocked and with firefox closed.
I've forcefully disabled updates and live alone if that matters, i know I could just install arch, 7 or even W10 enterprise ltsb n on it but I'm too lazy.
The Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display doesn't have this problem.
"why was it off?"
Because I have an electric bill to pay and it had no reason to be on.
>People who don't shut down their computer when they're done with it
thoroughly spooped, got to make sure
>not disconnecting the power cord every night
>reading some spoopy shit
>suddenly youtube.com
It was louder and spoopier in kurvaspeak, though.
>turn off computer go to bed
>ethernet starts blinking
You got fucked by Intel IME.
oh, i do, i'm just never done with it
Like if I'm downloading a lot of shit at night I'll leave my PC on. It's better done during the night and not disrupt people than in the day and make the internet slow as shit.
This , but unfortunately this function is literally fucked on 40% devices.
Use powercfg - lastwake or the event viewer to see what caused it, if it's wake source unknown it was windows update which has a retarded task set to wake your computer just to notify there are updates. You'll have to fuck with group policy to kill that off.
It's more fun to fuck with noobs and post memes than it is to violate the goddamn sticky.

psychic PC works about 40% of the time. Basically can even yell at it and it may turn itself on, kek.
thats it throwing out my laptop
