So, Sup Forums, what do you use your tablet for? Additionally, do you have an x86 or ARM tablet? Why?

I had four X61t and unironically use it to make furry porn and not only that but gave it to two completely separate artists who also make it, and some random chick I knew whose daughter was "into art"

I use mine for browsing the web, playing games, etc. It's nice carrying a desktop OS in your pocket, even though I mainly use it for things Android could do I occasionally do use it for things that require a desktop OS, plus I can always dual boot into Android.
>x86 or ARM
x86, so I can run Windows on the one device form factor it's decent on.

I use it for books, manga, porn, and shitposting while I'm on the couch. It's an ARM tablet with CyanogenMod.

Are there tablets that are decent spec-wise, at least for playing games? Maybe I'm expecting too much from mobile hardware though. Do you have a Surface or a Chuwi or something like that?
Yeah, reading seems like it'd be pretty comfy on a tablet. How big's your screen?

I had a Chuwi Hi8, can't really say exactly what it was capable of but I know that some tablet hardware can play modern PC games (albeit poorly)

10.5". It's really, really good for manga and doujins

I also had a Chuwi Hi8. It was kinda okay. As a novelty it was cool, and it was much more portable than my Galaxy Tab S. I really didn't like the plastic display though, even if it looked great. I'm spoiled with Gorilla Glass.

The display was fucking atrocious. The plastic layers would stick together and distort the screen. The only way to fix it was to squeeze and bend the screen, which of course eventually resulted in a broken screen.

Might have been a manufacturing defect. I didn't have that problem, but I did end up breaking my screen anyway (my fault, stepped on it). I didn't like the plastic screen because your fingers didn't slide as easily on it as on glass.

Yeah, defectiveness aside the screen was all around worse than glass

Porn, Game Manuals, eBooks, and a nice travel device if I don't want to use laptop battery or have it readily available.

In bed, reading news/manga/clover/watching video/movies

In bathroom, reading manga/news/clover/movie (while taking dump), fapping

This is the first I've heard of this issue, though to be fair I don't own any Chuwi tablet myself.
Would you recommend it all things considered? I'm looking for a tablet at the moment.

GBA emulation, watching youtube when stretching on sofa and anime in past. Pretty useless device honestly.

I have a Nexus 7 2013 I use mostly for multimedia consumption and some social like Facebook, Instagram and stuff. Basically the same way I use my Nexus 5 but the experience is more immersive. Also I read manga on it and the experience is just perfect. Sometimes I plug it into my charger and speakers and use it like a Google Home (always on Google Now voice assistant).

It's an ARM because ARM is more suited for running Android apps, but while I do prefer ARM the main reason I bought this tablet was simply that I like Google's software experience. It's a Nexus running stock Android and I flashed PureNexus on it for more features but it mostly remains stock and buuuuutery smooth. Also 7" is just the perfect form factor for my hands when it comes to tablet. (Too bad Nexus is no more and Google doesn't seem too keen on releasing more 7" tablets, or any tablets for that matter.)

Anyone have recommendations on which OS to hack an Amazon Kindle with?

I got one in a White Elephant thing for Christmas.

I use mine for reading manga/comics, watching anime, and surfing the web on the couch. It's a 13.3" Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro with an Intel processor.

Pretty sure CyanogenMod works just fine with it, user. I have a 5th-gen Fire 7 that's running CM12 right now.
How heavy is that thing? Also, how do you feel about that screen size? Is 13 inches convenient to hold in your hands, or do you have a kickstand?

Thanks user, I'll look into that once I figure out how to downgrade the firmware.

You have any recommendations for apps for reading manga/comics or watching movies/shows?

I work the night shift at a hospital and it would be nice to help pass the time during any downtime.

I use Mango for reading manga: mango.leetsoft.net/

I'd use sekrit club's web-based reader, but my home connection was always too slow for that (so I stuck to Mango and it's ability to download and save chapters), and I still haven't broken that habit going into university.

As for watching stuff, I can't really think of anything. I'd always just torrent stuff and copy it over to my Fire, then use vlc or mx player from there.
