ITT: We shill our own projects

github.com/ponylang/ponyc

if they are cool why not

That's actually kinda neat, OP

I like those curated "Awesome" lists of frameworks, libraries, software and resources. Here is one for Python:

github.com/vinta/awesome-python

yes, but here you can also share your own projects

awesome lists are definitely cool tho

github.com/DigitalPulseSoftware/NazaraEngine

>but here you can also share your own projects

My projects are either shit or proprietary because I mostly do programming for cold hard cash.

then don't post em

>Nazara Engine is a fast, complete, cross-platform, object-oriented API which can help you in your daily developper life
>developper

its more a graphic engine but it comes with utilities

pretty famous but still super useful: github.com/jonathanslenders/python-prompt-toolkit

>cool
>open source

Pick one.

github.com/metakirby5/codi.vim
Pic related

some reasearch has been made on this concept, here's a Haskell IDE that does the same:
github.com/lamdu/lamdu

Oh man, that is so cool, but I don't want to use VIM

Is it only for haskell?

hory shet

for now yes, but it is still pretty buggy and the syntax is modified

I think XCode's Swift playground also implements this

I'm aware, but this tries to be as "dumb" as possible, offloading any language-specific work to a separate interpreter. You can swap in any existing interpreter like irb or ghci.

There's a shell function that makes it easier to use as a standalone application. Just press `i` and use as any other text editor.

Mine works for everything that has an interpreter. You can even use C if you want because someone wrote an interpreter for it.

T-thanks

Haha, this one is really silly
github.com/schacon/cowsay

Yep. This reminded me of the Xcode playground. Really nice when you're learning the language.

Will change your life

breddy gud but I can't imagine that being worthwhile in a large project or file.

Yep - hence scratchpad, not IDE. Will literally run the whole file on keypress.

>40 cycles/character for nano

wew, good thing it's Winter, I needed to turn my computer into a space heater.

why

No one said this was computationally efficient. But if your computer turns into a space heater, I think you need to reevaluate your choices in electronics :)

Why not? 900 stars says this is a good idea, something you might not have had before, so I understand your confusion

github.com/philipl/pifs

It could be useful for education and prototyping

Pretty much all software made by suckless.org. They write extremely concise, beautiful code for interesting stuff and they use C, the one true language for standalone portable software.

Wtf so cool! I can't believe he wrote an entire OS from scratch.
