When will Sup Forums stop feeling so superior? Just admit that Sup Forums is shit.

Reddit shilling should be a bannable offense

Go back there if you like it so much

I go to Reddit for real information and dicsussion. I come here to shitpost.

Anonymous posting is a privilege for intelligent people only. Otherwise, where you cannot assess each individual user, accounts are required so the community itself can make sure nobody read's dumbfuck's comments.

Reddit for a real discussion

4Chinz for shitposting and memes

WTF I love reddit now

why is reddit better than stack overflow?

wtf i love reddit now

Can confirm, and the racist jokes are so childish. Also, calling people [x]f*gs is so childish; I mean, seriously? I get it, you guys are edgy, but I want to discuss technology!!!

EDIT: wow, didn't think I would get downvoted into oblivion for being honest

EDIT 2: thanks to those upvoting me, gives me faith in humanity!

Upvote for you good sir.

RMS thinks this place is inane. What did he mean by this?

>t. someone who's totally not a redditor

I'm more than willing to deal with Sup Forums because reddit encourages non-thought and circlejerking and after 50 posts every thread becomes ordered by whatever shitty pun someone made and all replies to that.

Also posting anything on any reddit is 3 hours of policing where you are "redirected" by a bot to a sub reddit.
>You can't post about games on /r/games. Try /r/pcgames
>You can't post about rts on /r/pcgames. Try /r/rts
>you can't post about starcraft on /r/rts. try /r/starcraft.
>you can't post about zerg on /r/starcraft. try /r/zerg
>You can't post about zerg vs terran strategies on /r/zerg. Try /r/zvtstrategy
>You can't post about hydralisks on /r/zvtstrategy. try /r/hyrdalisks
>5 people last post was 2005
hey why don't you try fucking off

>I'm more than willing to deal with Sup Forums because reddit encourages non-thought and circlejerking
>REDDIT is the place that encourages mindless circlejerking
>not Sup Forums

How fucking unaware and retarded are you?

Sup Forums has always been, and always will be superior to Reddit due to anonymity. You can post a comment here and that comment is taken on its own merits and is read in chronological order. Reddit thrives on karma points and downvoting anyone that doesn't agree. It's basically the worst example of group think. That and the circlejerking is painful.

>t. Redditoddler

Sup Forums:
-get real and honest opinions even if they are harsh and blunt, the conversation addresses the OP directly, and flows naturally unless the OP is an utter idiot in which case everyone shit on him

reddit:
-bulk of the replies either don't address what the OP asked, skirt around the issue while touching on the OP tangentially, or are part of a doggy pile due to a quip someone made

also, being an "industry professional" lost all meaning nowadays. nepotism reigns supreme and the retards throwing around their job titles on a place like reddit, much less having the spare time/energy to shit post on reddit, are people whose opinions carry little worth.

also, if reddit is so great why don't you fuck off?

I've been on Sup Forums since 2006 and reddit is legitimately better.

reddit encourages circlejerking while Sup Forums encourages shitposting

I like reddit for niche, specific topics because you always have autists battling for karma so you can always expect posts to be on topic

here people don't respect the "not a tech support site" so you have tons of Sup Forumsermins asking about gaming pc builds

I like coming here because I can argue with people without having them read my complete multi-year posting history in order to attack me with it.
Also, I feel like I would have to watch my tone and tread eggshells on reddit, not so much here.

Some boards here are like that.
Try posting anything even remotely not video games on Sup Forums, you get a 3 day ban.
Oh, did you go off into a tangent? 3 day ban.

During the 970 3.5 debacle I got downvoted to oblivion in a 390 vs 970 thread for even pointing out the 970 had a technical issue. It's a fucking circlejerking hugbox.
Not gonna lie the quality of Sup Forums has decreased over the last few years but the amount of solid information I've learned from this place more than makes up for the shitposting... just the ratio has gotten really bad.
At its core I do like the idea of every post having equal visibility. The anonymous concept is very interesting to me and after barrly posting on reddit that incident turned me off for life.

The Reality

Sup Forums
>Filled with NEETs, redditkiddies, and consumertoddlers
>Yet another board that fell victim to "shitposting" culture via reddit invasion via worst elements of Sup Forums shrieking about Sup Forums being about "memes" and "board culture"
>Programming is treated like yet another "meme" where Functional Programming autists scream OOP IN LOO while OO Programming autists shit themselves about the double-digit number of jobs available globally for Haskell, Clojure, F#, etc as if it meant anything
>Home to the most mentally damaged assburgers who erupt into shitty posting habits, attempts at spamming, and avatarfagging (that guy who posts black girls with every post STILL hasn't been hellbanned for it)
>Only a minority of its original posters remain, some hoping for a rebirth, others just plain faithful to the day the site goes offline

Reddit
>Filled with NEETs, actual kids, consumertoddlers
>A place of faux kindness - people peddle their one-video youtube tutorial or blog post tutorial for internet points and traffic
>Reddit boards are fractured to the point where multiple boards can exist for one subject because one fag wants to be powerful on the internet as a "mod"
>Assaulted by piss tidalwave of surface net posters looking for handouts to the point where all lower-level inquiries are treated with skepticism
>Has optimal posting times for getting results (actually a thing)
>Only a minority of its original posters remain

Sup Forums is only slightly better. People who believe that this place has "real and honest" opinions are fucking stupid, though.

>Crying that you can't post NOT VIDEO GAMES and not get banned
Ingest cyanide

>During the 970 3.5 debacle I got downvoted to oblivion in a 390 vs 970 thread for even pointing out the 970 had a technical issue.
You were fanboy meming. The 970 was an incredible price-performance card and the 3.5 has no performance implications outside of specially crafted scenarios designed to trigger them.

Reminder: Cherry-picked facts do not constitute an objective assessment.

>that guy who posts black girls with every post STILL hasn't been hellbanned for it
i think he's either banned now, or got bored. also, he's a legitimately retarded mongrel that has been doing shit like this on multiple boards. i don't think he works, or does much at all other than shitpost on Sup Forums for hours each day.

there's also been a shitposter, maybe even him, that would post nigger porn on Sup Forums all day for over a year. another one that posts asian male/white female couples. he's been at it for years now. half these problems would be solved if they banned phone idiots from posting and were more liberal with handing out range bans. none of this shit was anywhere as common pre-2010 when phone traffic was minimal.

some of the dumbest threads are posted with image.jpg or a screenshot from a phone.

This.

Reddit is better in every sense, and Sup Forums is kind of like a wall vandalised with graffiti

>there's also been a shitposter, maybe even him, that would post nigger porn on Sup Forums all day for over a year. another one that posts asian male/white female couples. he's been at it for years now.
That's not one poster though, that's why it's so resilient. It's a bunch of Sup Forums faggots from irc that want to get people mad and get more subhumans for their Sup Forums ranks.

Geez I wonder whos behind the daily ten gpu threads

back when i visited Sup Forums he always had an american flag. i refuse to believe that they would only manage to find americans to do this, or people willing to buy a proxy to get an american ip.

I'd love Sup Forums to have those unique identifiers that Sup Forums has for just one week.

Reddit is a shitheap primarily because you're not judged on the content of your post, but your post and account history. Additionally, a point system for posts encourages punishing wrongthink. Sup Forums is better about this because although you can filter things, no one has things hidden from them by default simply because someone didn't like what they said.

>no one has things hidden from them by default simply because someone didn't like what they said.

If 10 separate IPs report a post, it's automatically deleted, regardless of report reason.

>proxies
they shitpost from cell networks, outlaws posted cp to Sup Forums for years and moot couldn't get them banned without range banning all of chicagos's cell network
>i refuse to believe that they would only manage to find americans to do this
as if most of the Sup Forums retards that would waste their time flaseflagging wouldn't be american

threads too or just posts?

That was never confirmed.

The most valuable gems are surrounded by the most worthless of objects.
It's only natural for Sup Forums to have lots of garbage content, simply because it also has the objectively best content. Even reddit agrees on this fact.

After your first week here though you learn to filter through all the shitty threads. I'm sure you'll get there in 6 days.

a point system encourages karmawhores to make construtive and on-topic posts
in Sup Forums you don't have that so anons just shitpost

don't get me wrong I love anonymity but in reality it doesn't work the way we want

i still find it hard to believe. most people ignored those posts, but once he started posting he would easily go on for an hour or more. it seems like a lot of energy wasted for no pay off. closer to one autist than an organized false flag.

plus, why only do asian male/white female? that's probably the least common combination and no one really cares about it.

>plus, why only do asian male/white female? that's probably the least common combination and no one really cares about it.
cause Sup Forums is filled with subhumans that would reply to whatever you throw at them that involves interracial

Sorry but you need to be over 12 to post on this board son.

also they rangebanned australia where the Sup Forums guy was supposed to be and the shitposts kept on going

Define shitpost. Shitposting isn't just "someone said thing I don't like." Shitposting is posting porn on blue boards or interjections.

I'm sure I'm older than you

>Define shitpost

low-effort posts

I still don't understand reddit. Never really used it. How does it work?

reddit is like emacs for vim users, I guess.

I'm 33

Low effort posts aren't shitposts. If you don't like them don't read them. You can't expect every post to be well thought out and informative. Sup Forums has never been a high quality discussion site.

Sup Forums doesn't have that shitty, now deliberately broken upvote system where people, businesses and interest groups buy upvotes to skew the discussion to what they want. I could just turn on cable TV for sponsored information streams.

And yes, on Sup Forums, everyone's a fag. Fuck your feelings, fuck your tolerance, you're not a delicate and unique snowflake with upvotes to show it. Every poster's identity is no more and no less than anonymous(faggot). Get judged by what you're saying here and now, not some celebrity indentity you cooked up.

Saged.

my god, is that a /u/sureilldrawthat comic? i havent seen em in 4 years

it's not like an australian range ban is bad, though. the cunt that spammed Sup Forums and forced captcha implementation was australian, as was the guy that exploited some vulnerability to gain access to admin tools, not to mention all the shit posters.

hiro is a dipshit though. moot had multiple range bans in place, and vpn/proxy bans. first thing hiro does is lift them because he's a greedy kike.

Imagine Sup Forums but everybody is a tripfag, and every post is viewed in order by upvotes. Which means that only the first few most popular posts will ever be seen, and anybody who dissents will not only be shamed and hated by the community but will also be downvoted so their statement cant even be seen.

That is to say, while everybody will shit on you on Sup Forums, you are still visible and free to respond. Plus you are anonymous, allowing you to post in other threads without damnation for your previous, possibly unrelated post.
On Reddit, you are immediately smothered into oblivion and only the most popular users are heard.

>..can make sure nobody reads dumbfucks comments

That's an interesting way to say [CENSORSHIP]. I'll judge the "dumbfuck" comments myself, thanks. I don't need my hand held by a mod or a pacifier even.

Go back to this place you love so much with this thinly vieled rancid sewage.

Well he himself said Australia has been shitting up the whole site for years, a range ban would somve a lot of shit.

His point was that you probably know about 3.5 GB because you can't bury posts here.

Also fuck you for defending anti-consumer behaviour from multi-billion dollar corporations that don't give a fuck about you and don't actually need your support.

I really hate that upvote shit. That really keeps me from trying to get into reddit. Srsly.
It's like every post is about how much it gets upvoted. Fuck this shit. No one will ever read your posts if it does not have fancy memes in it, right?

On reddit, if you weren't in the first 30 posts, nobody is even going to look at your comment, because only the first 30 comments are the ones that get upvotes and reply chains.

It really says a lot when the most upvoted reply has 300 replies and most of them are just redditors trying to out-funny each other for the comment karma.

This

karmapoints is used on hackernews too yet nobody complains
