Anyone in here got imod ?

is massdrop hifiman 350 a scam?

Picked up Fidelio X2.

Good sound, but for some reason I find it less comfy than my SHP9500S when wearing them for long periods of time.

Any idea why? Weight? Thinking of returning them

I'm pretty sure paid orders were delivered and the product people got was the HE-350.

why is it so cheap?

Weight, more clamp, circle pads

Why do you think it is cheap?
It's about the same price as HD 598's when on sale, which are its main competitor.

it's $300 RRP 67% off

RRP doesn't mean anything. It has never been sold anywhere other than massdrop. It's just some arbitrary price they put up.

post em fags

so what you're saying is it IS a scam

No, It's not a scam. Hifiman could technically recommenced the price be $300, and then just be like "sell them for $100 lol"

You get the headphones described.

The RRP on tons of other shit IRL is bloated. It's nothing new.

I'm not sure, I don't know very much about headphones, but I wanna say neutral. I listen to a lot of black metal, ambient, jazz, and some hip-hop so if there's a certain sound signature you think might be best fitting then suggest it.
>Past headphones
Cheap garbage from Wal-Mart and Dollar General.

I'm not concerned about open or closed, and not very concerned about comfort, I just want the best quality I can get for my low budget. Could possibly go up another $20 or so if I'll get a substantial increase in quality.

are you actually retarded?

Hex guys, are fake shures (se215, se535) from aliexpress any good ?

it's shit

ofcourse not you inbred

when things are made to look like good things rather than be good things, good things don't magically happen to them

why do you need so many?

what are the best earbuds money can buy? best value?

redpill me on Sennheiser HD 598 open
they seem perfect so far

I didn't ask if it sounds like the original. I asked if it's any good, like if it's absolute shit or would it be enjoyable for a non-audiophile.

Thinking on buying the shillheiser momentum 2.0 tbqhwya familia. Are they any good?

im no expert, but xiaomi piston 3 were good for me

Fill out a form.

Low end can be lacking for some. They don't do well on outputs with high output impedances. 598's are just as good for ~20% cheaper.

Other than that, theyre pretty good.

Which headphones should I get for listening to harsh noise and field recordings?

Thanks, I'll check these out.

XD

thoughts on usb adapters?

The Audeze Sines are pretty dope

They work

That's fucking disgusting

If you're going to go with something shitty like that, you might as well get an Audioquest Dragonfly

what do you guys use for games consoles

Rate me

Where the fuck can I find replacement pads for X2? Are those chink ones from ebay made with nice memory foam just like originals?

I still use my Pulse Elites. It's nice to have that dedicated bass driver but the hinges have a bad habit of cracking and being useless. They'd probably be my main pair if it wasn't for that.

yeah, both hinges on my pulse's snapped, have sticky tape around them now. still work

the gold headset is my second, previous one snapped just below both hinges from wear&tear

Waiting for the X2's to arrive any day now, can barely wait

because i have money to spend

DT 770 [go with 80 ohm variant]
literally perfect for your requirements

50 Dollar DACs are kinda hard to come by. Monoprice one is currently reduced to $69, which is the best youre going to get for that price.

I assume you mean a DAC/Amp combo btw
a true DAC cant be used without an amp.

Will this be a good match for HD600?

Its a DAC
you don't match a DAC to a headphone
they aim to get as close to transparency as possible

Wait, nevermind, I'm fucking retarded.

Steelseries Siberia V2 (I know, I know), Audio Technica ATH M40x

Also I actually live in Hungary but will most likely end up ordering from Germany. If you have some good recommendations that are over budget I will look for them in local stores.

>Way too much bass
Ah, the upper bass. They have entirely too much of it. Coming from the HD280 it should be especially bad.

>598's are just as good
558?

>Steelseries Siberia V2 (I know, I know), Audio Technica ATH M40x
What do you think of them? Why the open headphone?

Forgot to mention that at the moment I'm kinda torn between the DT990 and the DT880 from Beyer. The 990 is more open but the 880 is the more neutral of the two so I can't decide what to get. Other recommendations would be nice too.

's are just as good
>558?

sorry im retarded

is there some program to tweak some things first?
do i need high quality audio source or normie shit like youtube will do?
talking about entry ones like 558 559 no amp/dac

i use the fidelio/vmoda boom combo.

comfy/10

The Siberia V2 wasnt all that bad, but it certainly isn't audiophile tier. It is very obviously targeted at gamers and because of that it looks but cringy? immature? not sure what word to use here, but I hope you get the idea. I ended up selling about 2 years ago so I don't really have any memories about the sound.

As for the ATH M40x, the upgrade was a bit overwhelming after the Siberia V2, but it was an upgrade nonetheless. It was more balanced the the Sibera which I definitely liked. I would probably still be using them but because of its plastic construction the tilting joint on the right side wore down...

I'd like some open headphones because I'm in a relatively quiet listening environment in most of the time, and sound leakage won't be an issue either. Also I want as big of a sound stage as I can get.

are Beyerdynamic Dt990 the best value for money?

Do you still have the Beyerdynamic DT880?
If so what do you think about it?

I'd say X2 are right now.

what are your criteria?

i swear, drunk people just constantly post stupid shit in these threads

Thanks for posting this, sph9500 looks like a great deal, but cant find there anywhere in EU.

>for muh game sense and muh instrument separation
are you saying I should rather be looking at closed headphones?

>do I just plug and play
Yes.
>is there some program to tweak some things first?
Equalizer APO, or some other parametric EQ for non-Windows users.
>do i need high quality audio source or normie shit like youtube will do?
The differences in lossy coding aren't what you might think. Listen to whatever, the headphones shouldn't stop you.

>DT990 and the DT880
If you could get either, the DT880. They're both open, the DT880 hardly has the "semi-open" quality to it.
I don't follow the "soundstage" thing. It's dependent on the gain curve of the headphone, something that is modified by equalization.

>tfw got the Hi2050's when they were like 35 dollars
Seems like they are like 50 and upwards now.

Look for ISK HP2010
rebranded, though /csg/ says the quality dropped significantly

so its risky

I might be retarded but I thought if you have open headphones you will have a more "airy" and "spacious" sound and it will be better at recreate larger soundstages?

I've been buying repeatedly a 10€ sony model, ex10lp, because I used to break them often and didn't want to waste money.

Just some models I heard were good: Xiaomi piston 3, Hybrid, sennheiser cx300II, sony mdr-ex450. Ain't no expert though.

Veiled sound

They were my first headphones so I was disappointed by how unnatural they sounded, but I got used to it after a while

thanks to the two anons that recommended the micca origen+
i'm loving it so far

No worries. It's a good little DAC/Amp combo.

SHP9500
Or M40x + HM5 pads if you want closed

i just had to change some bios stuff and it went fine
nothing wrong on win 10 except it added some text to my desktop, win 8.1 crashed like 100 times but now it's working fine, and i haven't used it on a linux machine yet, but i usually just use those for work anyways

shure se215
soundmagic E10
HM5

558/m40x

oh
just EQ down the 558's bass then, I think you just want negative bass
or maybe you want bright and think that has something to do with the bass, in which case get 7506/SHP9500

ignore then because HM5 is even bassier

I'm eyeing Shure SRH1840 and maybe Beyerdynamic DT1990 PRO. My wife's son recommended some HiFiMAN stuff but I'm not fond of chink shit and they seem to be built like shit. The warranty/support are also very bad according to /hpg/.

Build quality and comfort are paramount. No Sennheiser, 600/650 are way too tight and uncomfortable on my head and have shit build quality.

>se215
>neutral
Fuck no. They are bloated.

Maybe look at audeze or fostex if you are looking at hifiman.

Just ordered Fidelio x2's, only experience is with using M50x's and was wondering if when using my X2's with my phone and laptop a portable dac/amp such as the FiiO e18 would be worth picking up to improve the sound quality.

Basic generic gaming headphones and Iphone earphones. I have barely any experience with decent headphones and shooting in the dark at the moment. The last ones I had I liked how they were over ear but they sound leaked out badly.

Ideally I want a pair of headphones for studying in the library with a decent level of noise cancelling. I've been looking at Sennheiser as heard they are a good brand but I'm basing this off what friends have told me and website reviews.

X generally doesn't need an amp

>My wife's son
noice

You can't get any decent ANC headphones for that price other than second hand

unless you meant isolation

Yeah I've slowly learned that fact but sadly I'm really restricted on budget. Isolation is probably what I would want with my limit

Man, I cant decide whether I should get new IEMs or headphones.
Both of the ones I have are broken.

I think headphones sound better but I use IEMs more.

How are IEMs in the 300-500usd range?
Do they require anything like an amp?

I ordered them 3 days ago along with hifime sabre 9018 dac, but I think hifimediy 9023 mini should be good choice as well.

Any thoughts on THE Element from JDS labs? Same company that makes objective2/odac.

OP

I've never heard about IEMs needing an amp but if you look around enough I'm sure you'll find some audiophiles say that powering it with an amp increases the quality tenfold or some stupid shit

also
why not both.jpg
300-500 is quite the budget and you should be able to get good headphones & IEMs with that money

>Same company that makes objective2/odac.
well they didn't make it as far as I know, they simply sell a preassembled one

Westone yay or nay

A Bluetooth headset will be a ton better than that thing you posted.
