Because normies love VLC therefore it is bad.

how do you make pancakes that thicc

...

A rice cooker.

Who fucking cares. They are both shit.

t. MPC-HC master race

I wonder what the inside of those pancakes look like. I suspect they taste like shit.

Probably because there's no 24/7 help thread on getting VLC installed in Linux, so the freetards have to use the MPV.

I-I want to fug those cakes

MPV is very responsive. Double click and it opens instantly. That's why it's my default now.

I use VLC only if I need to use a filter, like deinterlacing or whatever.

Sup Forums here, no I don't.

This guy gets it.

Because i can take the shittiest computer and play a 2GB movie without a problem via MPV,
while the same would lag out and fuck up on VLC.

>portable
>lightweight
>efficient
>customizable

>has built in codecs
>proper color management
>config file is easy to setup
>doesnt shit itself when seeking large mkv files

Right now unfortunately there is nothing as good as MPC-HC + MadVR and LAV filters

I like mpv more even on windows

The borderless mode is good for streamlink twitch gui and it consumes less ressources. That about it, I have both installed so I don't really care.

>Use MPC-HC + MadVR & LAV filters
>Try to play porn on multiple monitors fullscreened

I don't know why I bought this meme. VLC has never caused me issues ever.

Is that CDT's art style I spy?

>mfw I use VLC because it just werks

I'm in medical school and likely smarter than 95% of Sup Forums too.

I don't I use VLC

Because VLC is popular and you are on Sup Forums

Cuck school more like

t. ECE student

Because VLC is actually a barely working cobbled-together piece of shit.

Basic things, absolutely basic shit like opening an audio stream, VLC skips and stutters every 8 seconds due to encoding troubles so you have to fix it on your end. This is basic functionality.

For some VLC "just werks", for everyone else they realise it's awful.

>medical school
LMAO

t. NEET

VLC colours look washed out. Also
>building font cache

kek yeah reading books and remembering bits of it to write in a test is really difficult.

Because it's hardly useable and a pain to install.

Because VLC is inferior.

MPV

VLC

>tfw just use mpv with no config files at all
I just like the hotkeys and the fast seeking time

> - Uses wrong matrix for RGB conversion (results in wrong colors)

I had no idea about this. Colors do look different in MPC-HC. Thank you for pointing that out.
Well, thanks for the ride VLC, I'm moving on.

because mpc-hc and vlc can't be minimalist like this

who the heck wants ugly bezels

Do I need to install the CUDA toolkit to get mpv to use the hwdec=cuda option?

pretty much this
vlc is so fucking ugly you need a skin
mpc-hc is even uglier and there will never be a fix
mpv just werks and looks good, and if you want to be completely anal about everything, you can willingly do so

mpv can has deinterlacing and tons of other filters tho

>I use VLC only if I need to use a filter, like deinterlacing or whatever.
"d"

Why do you have ugly bezels, then ?

mpc lets you get rid of the bezels as well

but out of the box it's hideous as shit

yes, god I love MPC for this

that is an out of the box preset (cccp), just press 1

>but out of the box it's hideous as shit
takes literally 3 seconds to change it

>being this autistic
and yet it never occurred to you to look through any of the menus, searching for a solution to it looking like shit, or just trying pressing random fucking buttons

European pancake master race.

a fraction of a second if you press the keyboard shortcut

>>portable

Who uses anything but Linux...?

>now i have no titlebars

wew

Because using an option menu is so difficult /s

dont you get rid of your seekbar now?

Look at the options menu you brain-dead morons

then it isnt a clean looking window, you have an ugly looking seek bar at the bottom that doesnt go away.

>being this retarded and still managing to turn on a fucking computer
bravo, kid

>watch anime on mpv no configs
>plays fine
>watch on vlc get choppy freezing weird artifact shit

Holy shit, do you want UI elements or not? make up your fucking mind, then use the fucking options menu as you see fit. This really shouldn't be so difficult.

not ugly ones that dont hide on there own

Congrats, you have earned the rank of the most retarded person on this site. I wish you luck in surviving this world. From what I've seen, you'll need it. I'm out.

tfw your job will be taken by robots in 10 years

>be above the age of 15 and heterosexual
>have no desire to watch anime
>TV, movies, and porn look perfectly fine in VLC

>TV, movies, and porn look perfectly fine in VLC
I don't think so, Tim.

they might look fine, but you're still settling for worse.

Not him but it actually is. Memorization requires shittons of effort and practice

Whereas with something like CS you can stroll your way through university without lifting a finger because all of the answers are logically deducible

haasn.xyz/posts/2016-12-25-falsehoods-programmers-believe-about-[video-stuff].html

guess how many of these VLC gets wrong

I love that people this autistic are working on the video player I use.

CS won't teach you shit you need to know when you get a job, though.

I have had to work with so many people fresh out of several different universities who I had to basically start from scratch with, because all they had was theory. Now, I don't hire people out of university.
I'd much rather have autodidacts and people who can prove they have work experience (and believe me, it's easy to tell in a job interview if you try to fake it).

Out of curiosity: Would you hire somebody who's been programming for 10 years and has a github/trac history full of years of FOSS contributions, but who never finished university?

That's basically the definition of autodidact, so yes - if I needed a programmer, I would.
