I got this external hard drive and whenever i try to connect it to my pc the light turns on but it's not recognized, I can actually see a generic "local disk G:" but as soon as i click on it the loading bar gets to a certain point and then it freezes.
I've tried with other pcs and other cables but it's the same. Any way to repair it?
Also i actually have different hdd which are broken but i would be interested in retrieving some of the files. Is it possible? I'm not really experienced with fixing these things.

I've never seen one in real life though. All my external 2.5" and 3.5" HDDs are SATA with a separate USB bridge.

I recovered several disks that acted like that with chkdisk and some with ntfsfix. You didn't specify which file system you use though, so that might not be applicable.
In Windows you can right click > properties > Tools > Check and repair drive or something like that.
