Debian is the most robust PowerPC distro I've used.

Any of them. Then sell that screen and it's conveter box to some collector on ebay for $70

Apple stopped selling PPC Mac in 05, and Debian is dropping PPC support in Stretch.

arch

ElementaryOS with selfmade PowerPC-Kernel.

if you don't know, you should probably start with Ubuntu.

Its a Pro (Intel) not a G5 (PPC) guys.

If you can, why not FreeRTOS?

Go exotic.

Win 95

gentoo

Second for Elementary

guess i'll go with arch then

Windows 7

Lubuntu 16.04

You'd better be happy with plain vanilla whatever Linux you get.
I haven't been able to find a working repo on any distro I tried.

motherfuckin chrome os

antergos/solus/apricity

Good luck. I was surprised to hear it's actually a bitch to install alternative os besides windows on those things.

not sure about intel macs, but it was super easy to install ubuntu mate on my power mac g5

...

Not OP, but...

Nope, easy as hell. I even have a pair of MacPro 1,1's running ESXi 5.5 booting from USB drives. (because I could, mostly)

Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, they all just work.

FreeBSD

OSX

ubuntuMATE

It'll probably run El Capitan, so just go with that. It's recent enough

Jesus you guys are really fucking autistic.
