Yes, Ruby.

>Is Python a meme language?
First of all, why do you think that?

Avoid Python, Rust, .NET framework, and especially VB.

All languages are by definition memes

...

Rust had potential but they keep shitting it up.

>What are some meme languages that I should avoid?

python
swift
perl
java
rust
go

These languages are only used by retards.

>muh readability
>muh large standard libraries
>muh fewer lines of code
>marketed towards beginners

Python is paying my weekly usage of cocaine and hookers.
So, I dont think its a meme language.

Sure go work on Java
Enjoy your salary

Go.

This. Also add Delphi and JavaScript.

just avoid java.net

also don't use assembler or c
but above all don't use java unless you want to lose the abitity to programm

C, Go, Rust and Java

this desu

Python is the language behind machine learning, neural networks, and other super-advanced fields. So obviously not a meme language.

All of those sound like positives to me.

There is no single language that Sup Forums can agree on that's actually good.

Essentially, everything is a meme language to someone. Just use what you like and ignore Sup Forums when it comes to this kind of shit.

I know you all think it's a meme but what's the best book for a beginner to learn python and learn it well?

All languages are meme languages.

Only D, because nobody knows D and the few that do actually like it.

All languages that are:
>dynamically typed
>interpreted/run on a VM
>less than 30 years old

are shit and memes, avoid

C++ is all you need to know. Everything else is a meme.

"Automate the Boring Stuff with Python"

It's free on the official website, just google it

Python is 27 years old and almost thirty years old.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Python

what a surprise its shit

its also dynamically typed which is the first option, so you probably can't do if statements correctly either

Add lisp and it's good

Python is useful for small programs.

>basing everything on Numpy Dataframes
>not building in a function to drop an entire DataFrame at once reliable from memory
Yeah, thanks, Not that I was going to use that memory anyway.

Python is a glorified wrapper for C-libraries

>machine learning
a meme
>neural networks
a subset meme of the above meme
>super-advanced fields
super-advanced meme

Lisp and C will outlive both of us while literally who meme languages come and go

what exactly does python have that lets it do applied statistics in a way no other language can?

face it, it's a meme

Hi

I program every day in Python and manage to get twice as much done as my colleague. Its a good language, but for more structured LTS programming, go for C and C++.

Also if you are calling it a 'meme' language you probably won't be here too long;)

C is a glorified library language for Python.

>Writing anything other than low level calculation heavy paths in C

FYI linux is in python now, and most big companies write in python.

"meme I no likey!! It isn't hard to understand!"
Please, grow the fuck up. I'm tired of hearing the retard speak for why you can't get off your ass to learn something new and better.

>I will have to learn Go likely in the next two years, after just learning python and churning out 50+ programs and scripts in the last two years
I dislike it as much as the next guy, but I don't bitch I just learn it.
