Get a GTX 1080 after using a 290x for years

>get a GTX 1080 after using a 290x for years
>realize it only uses 13.5w idle vs the 70w idle of the 290x (which generally increases because of amd's drivers)
>room has become a freezer
>live in sweden
I didn't think this one through.

>AMD gives you free heat

You should thank them tbqf

Buy some halogen lightbulbs, cuckboi

i use a 480 and amd 8 core clocked at 5ghz to keep warm

>free
No
t. thermodynamic pro

HOW CAN NVIDIA/INTEL EVEN COMPETE?

get yourself a crt-monitor??
they heaty as f**k

they dont sell them in europe due to some kind of fascist environmental laws

Make a script that constantly generates PGP keys while your computer is idle.

selfie?

har du råd med en 1080 så har du råd med att skruva upp elementet

lol

fun fact: a gaming PC genuinely does heat your room more efficiently than a space heater

pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Gaming-PC-vs-Space-Heater-Efficiency-511/

just keep 3 cfl lights on 24/7

Then I'm sure you're aware Denmark is on the cutting of of nations using free as in gratis heat, courtesy of the universe

>my work's "open 24/7" sign is fluorescent
Really makes you thank

it's interesting, but not that surprising once you consider that a computer has
>many components creating heat, so a lot of surface area
>many fans to exhaust the hot air into your room and help circulate it

My 200w space heater with no fans is still better than my 400w conputer with fans

>still better than my 400w conputer with fans
probably because your pc isn't running at full power when it's on

Of course it is it's a nice video game console somebody told me themself

I feel ya brah. I run GTX480 in SLI, they idle high 60's, and low 90's at full load. The air coming out the vent is 115F. My PC heats my room, heater is set to 60F just so the pipes dont freeze in the rest of the house.

Wrong.

I have a 1500 watt space heater, the air coming out is 145F.
My PC vents 110F under full load, and the entire setup including 2x monitors consume 550watts.

>requires 3 titans to even compete with a 25w space heater

Sitting at 11w idle with my 290x
why lie?
