Are these just people with macbooks who were hypnotized by Sup Forums memes?
>First arch machine
Congrats
next you'll realize you just wasted time when you can easily install archbang with an installer
Besides you fucked up by installing GNOME shit, Arch is supposed to be used in a minimal system
hurry and delet this before u get banned
How do you get borderless iterm with rounded edges?
Anime fags remain oblivious why desktop threads aren't allowed I see
umm because the mods are gay pedos?
i3 is best
>anime site
not Sup Forums fag
because #cutegang is terminally retarded.
-_- __ -_-
I fucking hate desktop threads they are poisoning the youth of tommorrow because instead of channeling their creativity and interest in computers into something useful they just fucking rice their desktops jerk off over anime wallpaerpers
>goes on gay.com/forum/tech
>claim the site is not gay
you're very, very baka
>implying there's anything left to do with computers except rice emacs and make your desktop more minimal
it's been like this for the past 31 years
It breaks window transparency.

what is EVERYONES obsession with flat design these days
flat is phat my friend. stay crispy
oh my god shut up already go away
Because all of the non-flat themes have been abandoned at around gtk 3.2 and again at 3.6/3.8... All that's left is 3-4 good flat themes that people fork and make tweaks to. This creates even more flat themes. Shit situation thanks to GNOME and GTK+ devs. Share your favourite non-flat theme, folks.

hi jordan
Mind sharing the name of the white/monochrome icons?
Transsexuals aren't suddenly not suffering from mental illness just because we entered an arbitrarily higher-numbered year.
I have no problem with gay people, but I do think however that people who feel like women trapped in a man's body are suffering from mental illness.
During development, your bod released hormones which affect how your physical features as well as your brain develop. Therefore in a healthy human one will feel like the sex they are. In a transsexual's mind something went wrong in the mental bit to make them feel different.
The normalization of this condition doesn't help. I mean, what if we said it is normal to feel like you're several different people at once? Then one person could have two, or three, or four passports, marry several different people...
I didn't read any of this
it's 2017. Start acting like it.
welcome to arch
You're a male, stop pretending you're a female. It's 2017.
>kept fucking up my system
Which is why people install arch, that is normal... When people want something functional with arch's abilities then they install manjaro
Sup Forums is a technology themed anime board
hownew.ru
ecqlipse 2
What for you need so powerful gpu?
Waste of a kindergarten education, can't even count
Openbox is best with Arch. As well as i3, snd bspwm. I prefer i3 to bspwm, though.
hory shet
Meh. I'll stick with Technic.
>thursday
Good taste overall
We're all very sorry that your father fucked you and made you ashamed of your body. Can we get back to talking about computers now sweet heart, or do you need us to feed your delusion so you feel better about being transtrender?

Screen fetch/gtk theme?

holy shit look at those digits
change the font

need more anime
what a fucking waste
baka
Remove gnome for starters
Install I3 or if you can't be bothered to learn how to customise the config install KDE or XFCE.
Install screenfetch or neofetch
Post screenfetch
Install Debian instead.
Arch is outdated.
openssl in Arch (including testing): 1.0
openssl in Debian (testing and newer): 1.1
I was just giving it a go. Want to learn more with customization.
Yeah i'm pretty new to arch. As i said earlier, i was gonna go with i3 gaps but i kept fucking it up
Thanks, you gotta teach me how to do that!
Never heard of it.Screen fetch? I just print screened it.
This makes more sense, but again i need to find some better instruction on actually installing i3 and using the damn thing. Every time i'd get it to boot i'd be at a black screen.
To add, any advice/criticism i'm taking as good because this is my first time going for aesthetics. Would love to improve it. Installing screenfetch now though.
>This makes more sense, but again i need to find some better instruction on actually installing i3 and using the damn thing. Every time i'd get it to boot i'd be at a black screen.
Here's a reasonably in-depth guide for less experienced users.
youtube.com
You shouldn't be presented with a black screen. You should be presented with a login screen asking for a login name and a password
Once you've logged in you should make sure you have I3 in your xinitrc file.
To do that type cat ~/.xinitrc
If the file doesn't exist or is empty then:
nano ~/.xinitrc
exec i3
ctrl+x
y
gonna look right now. Do i keep gnome? I presume the video will tell me. I'll give it a shot
You can keep gnome if you like.
Just comment out the exec i3 you add to .xinitrc and add exec gnome (I think)
Should've explained it better. i get the login screen, i'd type my password and before hitting login, i'd click the gear and switch the DE to i3. if that makes sense
Oh I see.
When I say login screen I mean a terminal login screen.
Not the gnome one.
You don't need to mess with your .xinitrc if you're using the gnome login to switch to I3
I3 should have presented you with a basic config message
Yeah i got that right now and i'm in i3, YAY. But its just dull. Want to add i3-gaps and make it look sweet. Should i still edit /.xinitrc?
Nah you don't need to if you're switching using the login manager.
Only thing i'm having an issue with is getting dmenu to open. Can't get it to do anything with Mod + D, should i open a terminal and try installing that dependancy?
Nvm. Did just that and got it working
What DE is that?
Yup.
Not the user but it's Gnome
>Gnome 3
ew
>no underaged anime girls
keep trying/10
Ok, got it working!
It's a good start.
The videos go into some depth about making it look nice
I really appreciate your help. This is originally what I was trying to do but I gave up because i was doing it all wrong.
Eh no worries I remember what it was like first time I installed arch.
Ended up reinstalling it 4 times before I was satisfied with the lack of bloat along with my I3
Yeah, I installed 3 times yesterday and just stopped at gnome because i was frustrated.
