I got one of the first Raspbeery Pi's as a gift many moons ago and all I did with that was emulate some old vidya.
And back in November I got an RPi zero because I figured I could do some cool things with it and the only thing I've done is solder a male USB end on it and turned it into a RNDIS gadget.

set it up as a portable wardriver pc. Simple enough to get a decent wifi dongle and a tft screen, and you can snoop/access wifi wherever

My laptop ate it recently so I need to replace it. All I ever do with the thing is youtube, generic browsing, etc. I have a solid desktop for games, programming, and more intensive stuff. Do you guys think the Pi 3 B would be a decent replacement considering the simple stuff I need it to do?
I figure a Pi and small screen would be cheaper than a similarly powerful laptop. What do you guys think?

Video is still an issue. omxplayer is a piece of shit but the only thing able to use hardware acceleration. They have a mod for chromium which enables flash. It's going to be a shitty situation until this part gets reverse engineered.
