>there are people still buying new consumer-grade laptops instead of a solid used Core2Duo system which is actually more powerful and much cheaper

Someone I know just bought a $500 laptop for his son and it's actually slower than my X200 which is almost 9 years old.

TFW no GF

I have two and I still have that face,

if that laptop has any relevant intel processor it's probably faster than your x200 user. a fresh install of windows or some linux thing will shape it up

>solid used Core2Duo system which is actually more powerful

get a load of this retard

>1.6GHz Intel Celeron N3060
>better than any C2D in the past 10 years

Im about to spend €400 on a chromebook with similar benchmarks to your x200.

even a shitty meme tier i5 ulv is faster than a q6600

I would say do yourself a favor and get a ThinkPad Yoga 11e for like $150 bucks but I see you are using europoor dollars so it will probably cost $500 instead.

q6600 can overclock :)

you're not wrong.

I'm not comparing it to an i5. I'm comparing it to the cheap Celerons (or worse) in cheap consumer laptops.

Intel Core2 Duo P8800 @ 2.66GHz

Intel Celeron N3060 @ 1.60GHz

$500 is not a cheap consumer laptop user. You can get meme gaming laptops that aren't shit for about that price.

When will these 2 in 1 memetops die? Cheap 13" laptops don't seem to exist in their traditional form anymore.

Well, then he fucking got ripped off. I saw the specs myself and he has a fucking Celeron N3060 in there, which is much worse than my C2D P8800.

yeppers, sounds like he did

not sure how you even find a $500 laptop with a celeron

Its mostly chromebooks. They're quite nippy but dont perform well in standard benchmarks. Octane scores are pretty good.

I have two old laptops.

One I upgraded to a Intel T7500 CPU with 4GB, and an SSD
Another has an i7 640M with 8GB, and a SSD.

Both boot up, and work at the same speed. I honestly cant tell the difference much. I actually prefer to use the 7500 one because it has a better quality screen.
