Presto was okay, it just didn't have the mainpower to fix all bugs. Most of its bugs came from the fact that many standards were not clearly defined as to how they should behave in certain situations. Like hiding parts of fixed positioned elements by applying overflow hidden to a parent.
One of the first things Opera team did after switching to webkit was starting to fix 10+ year old bugs.

I think that there's something that needs changing/adding for the UI to show properly.
The UI is working now, I installed opera 12.15 and then replaced the binaries with the ones I built. It needed the config and skin files to work.

Its one thing to wait for a webpage to send all the data
