God damn.
This is what America feels like. Async for ever and ever.
wow I can't believe it stayed stable for this.
I pay for 50 down/5 up, and usually speeds are right on the money. This week's been a little slow. Fuck my face.

Not using a VPN with a 100GB/s Line
Kek
>100GB/s Line
Unless you know something I don't, that doesn't exist.
40Gb/s is the maximum a single port NIC can handle, and 40Gb/s NICs are stupid priced anyway.
100Gb/s has existed for a while now user. It's been commercially available for about 2 years.
Regardless, get multiple NICs.
Android hotspot, Nexus 6. ~25€/month incl. unlimited everything.
It's ok?
> CURRENT YEAR
> not using DOCSIS 3.1

This.
Apperently even the 30c3 already had a 100gbit line available

It slow tonight.
Tf, whats your carrier
Fibrenoire
Do they even offer residential internet services?
I don't know. Who cares?
You can take an enterprise connection at your residence. My friends also do that.
It's 1 Gbit/s. Most web traffic doesn't fill this, so we share it together with other people.
Well for the purposes of this thread it's mostly pointless as an actual example of residential internet speeds.
It's like posting from university connection or your work.
What's the problem with using an enterprise grade internet as my residential internet?
All my IT friends do this and we also get better technical support because it's enterprise grade.
I also get a free static IP address.
Nothing is wrong with it, it's simply not feasible for 99% of people to do so if we're trying to get an indication of normal residential internet connections, your contribution is an obvious outlier.
That service costs significantly more than a residential service would you're simply splitting the cost.
speeds like these () however cost $20-30/month for residential because european cities generally have good fiber options.
Google fiber would also be fine as it's $70/month.
Your connection I would guess is probably more than $400 a month, and sure when you split the costs it comes way down, you, or one of your friends now has to manage a local network, etc, etc.
If I wanted to I could just go to work and post a 1gbps+ test (depends on the server but my work has a 2gbps connection), but that sorta defeats the point.
I'm in Canada. I don't know if it's allowed to do what I do in other countries. I do it because I have servers and my friends too. Since we split, it's less than 50$ per person. We've setup a LAN between our apartments and it's not a huge trouble. The bandwidth is rarely maxed out since everyone doesn't upload huge files at the same time.
I'd do the same if it were possible, i'm not shitting on your choice of getting internet, simply pointing out the fact you're the 1 in a million outlier that sorta shouldnt count.
Get friends with your neighbors and convince them to do what you want. If you are in a rural area, then it's going to be more difficult.
It's the logic of paying less when you buy more, but since you don't use it all, you sell slices of it and the prices comes down lower than if you were buying a small quantity. It's just like Costco.
Wouldn't work here, the only Fiber ISP already offers residential service. 150/150 for $75/month.
The business plans only go up to 500/500mbps and it's $600/month
I'll stick to my $75 a month 150/150 as it's the cheapest option currently.
Asymmetric digital shitposting line
From Wifi, on a toddlerbook
My old DSL was 11/2.5 mbps
Waiting on nbn rollout which happens this year for our suburb. Still on docsis 3 on old hfc network.

He said GB, not Gb
i get 55 down in the UK. this shit feels so slow.
only pay $5 a month

third world problems
Rather nice. Fiber feels reliable enough to host a 90's tier homepage and some voip etc gaymen services for friends from home. If I wasn't a poorfag I could even pay more than the 10€/month to get an even faster connection.
What VPN has such bandwidth?
Isn't is pointless if the MTU is low?
>40Mb upload
You know why we don't use it.
No thanks NSA.
> pretty good for 3rd world shithole
Its a speed thread. Not a residential speed thread. Just fuck off. No one cares that you're jelly.
>your contribution is an obvious outlier.
Literally what. This is a dick waving competition, not a survey.
> pretty good for rock in middle of ocean
My god, mine is similar too. Thanks TWC for increasing our speeds just before getting bought out. Hopefully Charter doesn't cuck us.
Fuck Italy and fuck telecom
Enjoying the last few moments before students come back and speeds take a nosedive

Un altro Abruzzese su Sup Forums?
A quanto pare. Abitare in campagna è sofferenza
Io sto in un paesino (700 abitanti) in provincia di Chieti, e ho una 20Mbps.
Beato te, qui da me è disponibile solo la 7 mega. E il paese non è nemmeno troppo piccolo (più di 6000 abitanti)
It's early in the morning on a saturday so speed is actually good
I'm too poor to afford the fastest 500mbit/s package. But honestly, 100mbit/s is more than enough, i don't download large files very often.
eh
