Why has something as simple as installing software not been perfected and streamlined on Windows, an operating system with millions of dollars of funding behind it? Meanwhile, Linux is developed by NEETs living in their parents' basement who have nothing better to do and it's still a better experience than Windows.

dumb frogposter

>I'm angry because I use Windows and it takes 5 hours to install a text editor

>open Gimp
>select circle tool
Oh wait

>open Krita
>select circle tool
>lock w/h ratio
>perfect circle

>>type "install someprogram"
But that's not real

emerge, apt, pacman, you get the idea. Varies based on distro.

Do you use screwdrivers with nails too?

He meant you can install programs with a single command, you fucking idiot. Not that that is the actual command.

> (OP)
>>>type "install someprogram"
>But that's not real
alias install='pacman - S'

The general public needs a lot of visual aid to get through something as traumatizing as installing iTunes. I like the part where a basic installer stops responding in your Windows example. Your computer must be pretty shitty.

"[packagemanager] install someprogram"

happy now?

Unless the program is not on your repo

>add repo
>update
>install
Wow fucking hard isn't it.
Oh wait I forgot most niggers are sub 80 IQ apes, sorry Tyrone.

Usually it is. OP was trying to contrast what usually happens. On windows it's never in your repos because there are none.

but my gentoo :^(

OP was trying to troll, nothing else. "installer.exe is not responding" is not what usually happens. Anyone could make an eqully obnoxious thread about compiling from source and .exe files "just werking", but why bother.

but package managers don't compile from source unless you're using gentoo

haha wendows sucks xD

>too retarded for windows
>can still use linux
jeez and i thought windows users were the dumb ones

>compiling from source
t. someone who has never used loonix

So I'm the retarded one because the developers targeting Windows can't write an installer that doesn't segfault?

yes

You missed the part where you hope what you downloaded is not malware or that the program is legit and developer didn't add spying code themselves
